Description

The BAKFlip F1 tonneau cover has two main positions: Folded upright, giving you total access to your truck bed with rear window protection, and folded down, leaving you with a truck bed cover that locks into place to protect your cargo from both the weather and sticky-fingered bandits. But perhaps the most stand-out quality of the BAKFlip F1 truck bed cover is its ability to not just withstand, but excel in extreme work and weather conditions. You can leave the denting, cracking, warping, fading, rusting and corrosion to lesser tonneau covers, because this thing boasts a polymer top, leak-proof rubber seals and EPDM rubber hinges that are made to outlast your truck. They certainly won’t let you down the next time you need to haul cargo during a sudden downpour. The BAK team knows how to make quality products, and the BAKFlip F1 keeps up with its namesake with high-tech, bulletproof construction and a long list of design features. They started with a super-rigid EPS core and then sandwiched it between - or, rather, laminated it with - a fiberglass-reinforced polymer on top and an epoxy-coated aluminum on bottom. Ok, so it may not be "bulletproof." But, no would-be thieves are getting through that deck any time soon. When you add in the fact that the top of the cover can handle a load rating of 400 lbs, it makes the BAKFlip F1 35% stronger than its younger cousin, the BAK G2 - and puts it lightyears ahead of other truck bed covers on the market.

  • Perfect product! easy to install! Beautiful addition to my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500.
Style: BAKFlip MX4 Size: 6' 4" Bed
I am so glad that I made this $1039.00 purchase. There are other, cheaper tonneau covers available on Amazon, but I received input from a professional installer that this was the top-of-the-line cover and I believed it and made the purchase. I am so glad I spent the extra money and got this BAKFlip MX4 cover for my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. It was a perfect fit, easy to install, is really beautiful, totally functional, and is the perfect cover. I DO RECOMMEND this product for anyone who wants a beautiful, secure, water-tight, easily-accessible, easy-to-install, and sturdy, five-year warranty for a cover. One may spend only a couple hundred dollars on a tonneau cover but one really does get what one pays for. This is the tonneau cover for the discerning pickup truck owner. You will not be disappointed with this purchase even if the initial price is a choking point. It is worth the money!!! ... show more

  • Great way to secure your truck bed
Style: Revolver X4s Size: 6' 4" Bed
I was looking for a way to secure the bed of a 2017 RAM 1500. Did quite a bit of research and settled on this when I saw the neighbor down the street with one rolled up on his truck. The price was right and shipping was quick. Construction is solid and all parts arrived and fit my truck perfectly. Installation was a breeze and I'm not exactly what most people would consider handy with tools. So far, it's kept the truck bed bone dry thru heavy thunderstorms even when going down the interstate. Looks good too. I haven't had it long enough to rate it on durability but might come back in a couple of years and update. My goal with this purchase was to secure the truck bed so I could store items in there without fear of theft. Mission accomplished. ... show more

  • Nice Product - No Regrets
Style: BAKFlip MX4 Size: 6' 4" Bed
Overall, a nice product and I would buy again. As for the question / rating about water resistance - I can't speak to that as of yet, since it is a new install and hasn't been water tested. As for the rest - the installation is fairly simple and the cover is strong and robust. Some things to watch: * Make sure to use the shims if the rails sit at a slight angle, due to some curvature of the bed rails - if they sit at a slight angle, you may have issues with the seal properly contacting the tailgate. There is a supplemental sheet that includes shims and tells you how to use them. Your truck may or may not need them. * They say to install the bulkhead seal as one of the first steps. The install instructions don't clearly specify if the seal should be at the front, rear, or centered on the bulkhead (although the video does say to place it on the edge closes to the rear). I would wait and do this at a later step - for my truck, the bulkhead seal needed to be just a little bit away from the rear edge - meaning I had to remove it and reinstall it (this impacts the adhesive quality!). Its best to fit the cover first, then determine the exact location of the seal. Once the cover is properly fitted and in place, it will be very obvious where the seal needs to be - then you can easily lift off the cover (before securing it) and add the seal. Not having the seal does impact the general install and fitment of the cover - you just need to add the seal before bolting the cover down at the front. * Keep in mind - you don't need the bulkhead seal if you have a drop in bed liner that covers the bulkhead. If the bulkhead surface is painted metal - you need the seal. * While installing the rails, start at the middle (place the first clamp in the middle). I used a vice-grips to initially hold the rail in place - I didn't have a helper and this made it easy for me to keep the rail in place before installing the first clamp. * On the rear panel, I had an issue that required me to remove the latches on both sides of the cover / rear panel, reposition, and reinstall with the sheet metal screws (I used my screw gun for this - but be careful not to strip and over-tighten). The latches were installed with some adjustment capability, but not enough. The latches were sticking out too far and hitting the rails! At first I thought that my rails weren't all the way in - I confirmed this wasn't the issue. A look at the latches on the rear panel compared to the latches on the center latching panel clearly depicted my issue - the latches on the center panel (exact same type of latches) were further in, allowing clearance from the rail. The latches on the rear panel were clearly misadjusted and sticking out too far towards the rails. Again, I didn't have enough adjustment on the latches to compensate. This was fairly simple to do - took an extra 5 or 10 minutes (after figuring out the issue). But this shouldn't have been necessary. If yours sticks - check the rails before moving any latches. You want to make sure the rails are properly seated - otherwise they can interfere with the panels. Overall, nice product and nice look! Hopefully it does a good job repelling water - I have heard feedback both ways. I didn't want to rate that particular function as I haven't tested it. Overall, it took less than an hour to install - even with the minor latch issue. I installed myself without a helper. ... show more

  • Highly anticipated. Very disappointed.
Style: Revolver X4ts Size: 6' 4" Bed
I installed the BAK Revolver X4ts Hard Rolling cover on my 2024 Ram 2500. This bed cover appears attractive as a secure roll up, preserving room in the bed (vs Retractable) and allowing one to make use of the rack for carrying ladders, building materials or other lengthy items. However, this cover is poorly designed. The wider span near the Ram's cab is not accounted for in the design of the cover. The additional 1.25 inches of width causes the hardware to slide off the rails easily and the bolts are prone to sliding off the mounting track, causing the cover to fall into the bed. The rails would need huge amounts of shimming to remedy. The nylock nuts supplied to attach the cover to the rails are more trouble than the benefit of being able to hand tighten (over and over) is worth. A socket is much more practical than what is nearly too difficult to turn by hand. Makes me think this cover likely requires constant adjustment or else the hardware would be more permanent. The cable latch system leaves the truck bed vulnerable near the tailgate. Anyone with a stiff hook could defeat the cable latch and gain access. The unit is not even close to being water resistant. There are huge gaps around the front and back. Finally, the image shown in the product pages misleads one to think this system comes with a rack. It does not. For the price. This is a total deal killer. Very disappointed to have installed and found the product is not worth the cost or the trouble. Now the hassle of removal and return. 👎 ... show more
