  • PERFECT FOR THE BUS OR TRAIN
IT'S JUST THE RIGHT SIZE AND WEIGHT TO PUT ON THE BUS OR TRAIN. THE RANGE IS ONLY ABOUT EIGHT MILES AT BEST SO BRING YOUR CHARGER WITH YOU. THE PRICE IS NOW WAY TOO HIGH AS RAZOR KEEPS RAISING IT. REALLY IT'S ONLY WORTH $125 BECAUSE OF ITS LIMITED RANGE.

  • Weak
Cannot carry an adult for more than 10 minutes on a full charge. Very slow. Low power. Returned. Very disappointed.

  • Maybe great for kids, not big people
A situation came up where I need to drop my EV off to charge on Level-2 that's 2 miles away from home. It needs to charge for several hours, so I wanted to find a cheap electric scooter to get me home and then back me back to the car later on. I found one of these Razor UB1 scooters that seemed to fit the bill. It's light, easy to get in and out of the trunk of the car, and is reasonably fast and can go several miles. Well, if the battery is fully charged, it goes pretty fast. But once the charge drops about 20% (the first power bar light goes out) both the acceleration and speed slow down. That's about 1 to 1-1/2 miles. It takes me about 10 minutes to get 2 miles, which is fine, but trying to cross a major street on 4 bars instead of 5 is a bit scary. Also, the tires are small and without any suspension you feel every little bump and crack you go over. I don't know why the front tire is air-filled while the rear is solid; they're both hard as rocks. The road is often a smoother ride than the sidewalk. It's probably fine for kids who weigh under 100 lbs, but I'm near 200 lbs and the seat is too small and uncomfortable for my taste. I don't think I'd want to go more than a couple of miles on this, but if you're small and want to ride around the block with your friends it's probably fine. If it had suspension and a beefier battery so it goes full speed for more than a mile or so, it would be a great solution for commuters who need to take public transport most of the way to somewhere and then zip around on it to get to work or visit several shops that are nearby. Also, if you need to carry anything, like picking up a food order, it needs a rack or something to carry it in -- you can't ride this one-handed as the brake is on the left and throttle on the right. If the brake was on the right, your left hand would be free to carry something, and most food orders cannot be fit into a normal backpack. There are better options, but they're much bigger and twice the weight. For my limited need, the UB1 is "ok", but I think it could be improved without adding much cost. ... show more

  • Awesome! Portable, lightweight.
I love this little e-scooter. It's been very helpful to me. It helps me get around when I go shopping or go anywhere out of the house, because I'm disabled and have difficulty walking. The BEST part about it is its lightweightness and portability. It's easy to lift it and place it upright on the floor of the backseat of a car, without folding the handlebars. At times I have taken it to Walmart and fold it up and put it in the handicap electric shopping cart, though it does stick out of the basket a little. The acceleration for this Razor UB1 is smooth and it has excellent speed control (I like that I can easily control how slow or how fast it goes, and it maintains very good speed control at slow speeds, unlike my EcoSmart Metro HD which I also love but the EcoSmart has a touchy speed control that makes it difficult to make it go slow because it goes fast with a slight acceleration. The UB1 has better precise speed control). And the UB1's braking is nice and smooth and works very well (much better than the dangerous brakes on the Razor EcoSmart Metro HD whose brakes grip too much too fast and send you flying forward, even though I had the brakes adjusted to the loosest setting). Run time is 40 minutes if you're going at top speed, but lasts all day if you're riding slow inside stores. I wish Razor would have an option to add more batteries to expand the runtime. Maybe I can add a Dakota battery, as seen on mobility scooter videos on YouTube. I'm disabled and want to find a way to add side wheels or something to make it a trike scooter/ebike so I can convert it to my personal handicap mobility scooter. It's great for quick trips and for getting to and from city bus pickup locations. I have a handicap placcard hanging from the handlebars, so no one's ever told me I can't take it on the city bus (or in a store, but I carefully ride very very slowly, and always put my handicap placcard on it). Because this is a lightweight scooter meant for riding on paved, level sidewalks/walkways, it doesn't have really strong torque, so don't expect to be able to go off-roading or up hills on it. It's not made for that and it will struggle with riding on the sidewalk or empty street if the concrete has a lot of cracks, bumps, uneven slabs, and the battery will deplete quickly. You'll feel the rough ride, and the rattling is really bad for the scooter because it can cause misalignment and the screws will need to be tightened. The manual says this is not meant for doing tricks or stunts, and it's for riding on level ground. I still ride it on the sidewalk, which has driveway dips. But I mostly just use it for in-store riding, and get a ride in a car to locations so I don't have to ride it on the street. The street causes rough rides, and it can jolt or shake the bolts or cables too much and may damage it, because a few times after a hard jolt because of a sidewalk crack/bump, the scooter slows down and won't go fast for a while, so it probably affected some wiring. The handlebars got out of alignment after rough sidewalk riding, so I just tightened it afterward. The only few things I don't like about this scooter & would like to see improved are: 1) Needs suspension! It has no suspension between the tires and frame. The only suspension it has is a suspension spring below the seat, but it's not great, you can really feel every bump or crack on the street. I wouldn't recommend this if you have a spinal disk problem, as riding this could rattle your spine if you ride on a concrete sidewalk with all the lines/cracks between concrete sections. 2) The low part of the metal frame that's in front of the back wheel is low and the metal scrapes against practically every sidewalk curb or door step. I guess it protects the hub wheel, but I might grind down (and reseal with paint) a little area of the metal frame to prevent the scraping against steps and curbs. 3) Placement of the footpegs/footrests is vertically aligned below the seat, and to me this leg position is not very comfortable; I would prefer the footrests to be placed more forward so the rider is in a more natural seated position. However, this is more of an issue when I'm riding at a slower speed. It's not really uncomfortable when I'm riding fast on the street. ... show more

  • Surprisingly good for neighborhood riding
Like the product very much. Fast enough. Perhaps longer range and more uphill power if possible yet I weigh two hundred so it really outperforms my expectations for its size and price.

Received this for my son's birthday. After charging it as recommended it was not working. I got in touch with customer service and in 48 hrs my son had a replacement. However it's small. But great scooter bike.

  • Only for tiny people. Limited range.
Weighing over 200lbs, I knew I was a stretch for this thing, but it lasts less than 1 mile on flat ground before the battery is too weak to go faster than walking speed. Other cons: it's a punishing ride, with even the slightest bump juddering through your spine and there's no freewheel option, so even going down hills you have to use battery. And it cannot go up even the slightest incline - I'm talking sidewalk ramps here. It barely makes it. It's also not light - though it has a nice carrying handle, it's hard on your hands. And - sad to say, you'll be carrying it a lot. I got this for $250. Today it's $580. No. Just no. ... show more
