  • Highly recommended Highly recommended
The best rolling stock I have invested in, in years. Fairly light and both fit easily in the back of the truck in between Marina gigs. Update: The original sealed lead acid batteries basically gave up at 25 Cycles. Not untypical for lead acid junk. Popped on Amazon bought three 12.8 volt 6 amp hour Jita batteries for $90 and one 42 volt fushield lithium charger with the exact xlr plug for $20. Installed 6 push on terminals and increased the length of one wire. Duct-taped the batteries together in a bundle and set them in below the board with a cardboard sheet in between to hold them in place. I have been running these batteries for 4 months now. With these batteries I can get a full 6 ahr in reality not just 3 ahr available from the 6 ahr lead acid. Better voltage better speed more range for $120. A must-do if using it everyday. As far as water resistance goes. It rains a lot here and I have to use this in the rain all the time. I avoid running it through puddles but have not noticed any issue with getting soaked other than the low battery light becomes erratic. Which doesn't matter because the lithium batteries never run low enough to operate it before being empty anyway. There are small drains in the battery control tray so you cannot submerge the unit but it does appear to operate in rain without issue. I have seen people covering the throttle control with a plastic bag but I've never done it. I am running docks all day, ride it to lunch and sometimes hitch up the trailer and use it to run up to the supermarket for my weekly shopping. I do plug it in every night as I can put some miles on it and tow a heavy trailer. Only time it let me down was when I forgot to plug it in for 2 days My credentials: I have been a commercial equipment and marine systems technical specialist for nearly 40 years, and also an electric car and motor cycle owner for 5+ years, so I have an experienced EV grin. I waited before I wrote this review to give it a good honest shakedown opinion. My update was added almost six months after purchase. Please: Make sure you do not use this before checking all hardware for tightness. Electric plug brake action is Extreme and will lock up the rear wheel. Even if this was regenerative braking it it couldn't produce much of anything if it stops the wheel. I did discover recently if the switch on the brake lever is unplugged under the footboard it runs on the brake band Only and does not lock up the tire. Brake action is reduced however more gradual and predictable. Pro's: Wide strong foot board and frame. Predictable smooth speed control. Plenty of power, even up dock ramps with trailer. Tall 16's with smoother ride. Kick stand. Almost half the price of segway. With the special packaging offer on black model. Cons: Non folding handlebars. Have to install shields or no flat inserts to avoid a nasty flat tire. Harsh braking. Sealed lead acid versus lithium. Twice the weight of segway. ... show more

  • Best scooter on the market
Love these, hate the battery but the upgrade nobody talks about makes it the best scooter on the market. Search: razor eco smart battery upgrade.

  • Outdated battery technology
For several reasons, this is the right scooter: a wide deck, large pneumatic tires to avoid those unnecessary spills with a crack in the sidewalk. Like many other reports on the web, the sealed lead acid battery is a nuisance. It’s heavy and totally unreliable. With much excitement - it was to together, charged and to much disappointment - the scooter didn’t work. Calling Razor - they noted the unit I received was manufactured in 2021 and the battery was probably bad. While they sent a replacement - it is just a nuisance. It seems easy enough for Razor to change to a LiPo or LiFePo4 format - but no. If you choose to buy this - factor in the cost of changing the battery to a newer technology. Also the 6A battery is small where a 10a LiPo can be much more effective. ... show more

  • Instant Smiles
Super easy to setup and get riding. Everyone loves it at our house so we bought a second one. Only complaint is the brake could be a lot better but you'll quickly learn how to deal with it.

  • Wide foot profile, comfortable ride, inaccurate mileage
I understand that you can get "up to" the listed mileage, and that obviously depends on circumstances such as weight and incline in your route, but I've found that, at best, mine get about 60% of the listed distance. I live in Florida with flat grounds, and I get around 6 miles or so. What I would make sure you are doing, if you buy one, is do a test run around your home so that you don't get stuck as these are heavy and a burden to push like a regular scooter. You'll end up walking it. Also, try and work the battery down, if you can, and do a full recharge to maximize the durability of the batteries. As for the other characteristics that I have come across... the throttle is speedy. What I mean is, it is difficult at times to "catch" a middle ground and I tend to be either full throttle or none at all. When the battery is almost done, you get a 2-3 mph speed on the scooter full throttle. Go as direct as you can to get back home. The tires are good and the wide bass is a plus. It is a lot of fun when its going, and you do move on this. Brakes are responsive and fast to stop, which is good but get comfortable with them. However, for the price tag, I would expect a bit more. You are likely to get about an hour on it from mine (again I own multiple ones), and I wouldn't expect a full afternoon out on these (maybe my expectations are too high). ... show more

  • Best scooter
The only draw back, is that it can’t go out in bad weather as it is not water proof. And the battery is very wimpy. I highly recommend upgrading the battery so you can get up a hill, and go farther.

  • Nice Scooter But needs better milage!!!
Thus Scooter Is Very Nice And wide But The Charger And The Battery mileage is Extremely bad. For the size of scooter I Would Recommend This to ride around the neighborhood if you are going to use it to get to work your out of luck if its more than 3.1 miles or so otherwise it'll die. I use this 1 Mile to the bus and 3.2 miles from the bus home because it's quicker than staying on the bus but only 3 miles are you f'n with me Pros Nice And wide Cons Low Battery Mileage Update edit: on be careful with the charger I went to pull the charger out of the scooter and it pulled apart the bell housing took the wire with it and the prongs with the charger stayed in their hole I got razor to ship me a new one but it will be upwards of 3 weeks good customer service on their end ... show more

  • Delivered today and already assembled and charged
Very easy to assemble. Just needed to put on front wheel and attach handle bar. Put on charger and it's already turned green! I will update this review after I ride it which will not be until later today. Packaging was great and it arrived in perfect shape. Took me less than 10 minutes to put together. Update: today after the scooter had been fully charged I rode 8.32 miles in 59 minutes with an average speed of 8.9 and highest speed of 16.9 per my Samsung watch Ifit app. I did not run the battery out but it was running very slowly by the 8 mile mark (I could go full throttle and make 2mph or so. Very happy with the scooter. ... show more
