The Triumph series is St Croix's 'entry level' rod, but they are very high quality rods and are an excellent value. The blanks are very lightweight and sensitive, the moderate fast action loads well and casts really far. These rods are an awesome value for money, as they perform as well as other rods costing twice as much. I've caught dozens of Striped Bass on this rod, and it handles 2-foot Stripers with ease. I bought this rod to go along with the others. So far, I have the Bass X (spinning), two Triumph (both casting), and one Mojo Yak rod (spinning). The two Triumph rods are both great casting rods and are Medium and Medium-Light. They cast great and I love the sensitivity. They are worth the price, and I love the fact that they are American made. This one I got in the 6ft version because it is much easier to manage in the kayak. ... show more

St.Croix Inshore triumph casting rod, super well balanced, light, fantastic action. I ordered a medium moderate fast 7' . Casts lighter lures a mile. How can someone ship a $100+ rod and not put it in rod tube? It looks ok but sure would have been happier to see it arrive in a rod tube! The rod came to me in the plastic bag from the manufacturer.
