We debated for quite awhile on which scooter we should get - I thought this one was too much (to big, to fast, to expensive) but in the end the E300 was ordered. I'm very happy with the decision. The scooter was a Christmas gift for our 10 year old daughter and I keep thinking that the smaller units would be the safer bet - and apparently that is the same thought one of our neighbors had, they bought their 11 year old son the 200 model for Christmas. The 300 looks cooler and sturdier and actually is more stable than the 200 even though it goes faster. The speed difference probably isn't significant....unless you are on a 300 and the boy down the street has a 200...then the speed difference is "absulutely AWESOME" according to our daughter. We first found out about these scooters when my daughter's classmate received a 100 model last summer. We almost bought one in local store but I wanted to see what the other options were. This was absolutely the best option for us - heck, I even have fun riding it. The battery charge is limited by I actually think its perfect - with only 40 minutes or so of charge I can be sure she won't go far. She ran out of power once about 3 blocks from home and had to push home so now she stays pretty close to home or, if she goes a little further, will travel directly to where she's going and then come directly back. It almost like having a really long leash...in a good way. I've also noticed that it recharges to a full charge in much less time than the instructions mention - especially if you have it on a non GFI outlet that is on a lightly used circuit. Great little scooter! Yes, its the "bigger" one but the size and weight make this one feel safer and stronger than the littler ones.

bought this for my soon to be 8 year old son, he's big for his age and I didn't want to start with the small Razor and have him outgrow it in a couple of months. first I'd like to say, this product is $80 cheaper on Amazon than Toys R Us, also the free shipping was great, only took about 3 days for delivery. after reading the other reviews I knew it came in its original packaging, (I didn't need it to be a surprise) as far as the Razor goes, we love it!! it was easy to put together, charged it overnight, and took it out the next day. my son was able to get on it and go! its a lot of fun, and I like the fact that the tires are air filled, its a very smooth ride. my husband, who is 200 lbs. had no problem riding it. I'm not sure how long the battery lasts, because my son gives up before the battery runs out!! All in all I would recommend it, however I wold also recommend safety equipment, my son wears a helmet and knee and elbow pads.

Just bought this for my grandson who is 8 yrs old. I also have the E150 for my granddaughter who is 5 yrs old. I wanted something bigger than the E150 and also wanted pneumatic tires on both front and rear (E150 only has it on front with a solid hard tire in back). The E150 is also really bumpy riding with that solid tire on rear. Anyway got the E300 and my first reaction was "holy crap this thing is huge" (after being used to the E100 series). Right away I was wondering if I may have got one too big for my grandson. When he saw it, he was all smiles (bigger is better of course, heh heh) and he got right on it and away he went. It took him a bit to get used to it as he had been used to riding the E150. I told him if it was too big for him, I'd get him something a little smaller like the E200. After riding it for a bit, he came back to me and said he wanted to keep it. One thing I will say is this thing is like a small rocket with his little body on it (he's short of 60 lbs). In retrospect, if I had it to do all over again, I think I would have got the E200 (which also has pneumatic tires on front and rear) which I think would have been a better fit for him but he's happy with E300. This scooter is also pretty quiet, especially when coasting and it does coast a long way. The battery life before a charge is about 30 minutes (and that's not full speed all the way either). The E150 I have lasts more than twice as long between charges so this thing does use some juice. The claims on this scooter is that it will accommodate 220 lbs. I think that's a bit of wishful thinking. I'm at 190 and this thing bogs down with me on it big time. Goes about half as fast with me on it compared to my grandson and I could actually feel it getting slower not long after I was riding it. I have doubts it would make a mile with me on it. If it would have handled my weight as well as my grandson, I would have given it 5 stars. Motor or batteries (or both) don't seem to be strong enough for my weight. By the size of this thing it looks like it's for adults but it's really only strong enough for kids. Now we'll see how long it lasts. I'll add to this review as my grandson break it in. Edit: Recently the run time was getting shorter only a month after I got it. I think I got a set of weak/old batteries. I called up Razor, told them about it and they sent me a set of new batteries free of charge. Pretty good service from them so that's a plus.

Okay, my title may be a little corny but it's true! My tween daughter loves this scooter. It came in a box and required some assembly. I got it put together in a matter of 5 minutes or so even with my toddler running around. The battery needed charged for a long time before first use, which is typical, but my daughter was anxious to ride it. The next day, she rode it all over the place. We have a farm, and were surprised that it even goes in the grass some. It does a beautiful job on pavement and can reach pretty high speeds! Because it's battery powered, it doesn't go up hills all that fast, but it made it up with my 100 pound daughter just fine. We liked the display that shows when your battery is beginning to wear down so if you're far away from your home, you can begin heading back. I would recommend using helmet and knee pads, elbow pads, etc... It is an excellent toy, and I (along with my daughter) would highly recommend it.

I bought the Razor E300 for my 7yr old son and he absolutely loves it! My 5yr old daughter became a pro at riding it as well. My daughter is a daredevil but this razor is for older kids. Your kid must be able to ride a bike on their own (no training wheels) in order to be able to ride this razor. When we have a get together all the kids want to ride it, even the adults! I love riding the razor myself. It is pretty fast. The weigh limit I believe is 220lbs. We live on a farm and the terrain is from rugged to smooth concrete and it works well everywhere. If you want your kids to have a blast, this is the toy to get them! I would definitely recommend this razor to anyone!

Like some reviews, my 8-year-old son's first E300 only ran about ten minutes per charge and 13mph max speed (yes, I have a radar gun). Troubleshooting sent us toward a dragging brake, but the brake adjustment was fine. The chain, however, was super tight (I'm an old motorcycle racer, so I know a lot about chain tension). I loosened the chain tension, but no improvement, and returned the entire unit. (I suspect either a bad battery or the overly tight chain tension damaged the motor armature.) When the next E300 showed up, I checked the chain immediately out of the box. Again, super tight. I loosened the chain (extra loose for the first run, maybe 3/4" play) and completed the rest of the setup. The unit performed flawlessly. Speed was consistently 17mph and still running strong after 35 minutes (we've only done two test runs so far). Slightly tightened chain tension to about 1/2" after first run. Also, as noted by another reader, we looked everywhere for the rear tire inflater extension, only to find it inside the right handlebar grip cap. Good luck figuring that out when it isn't in the directions. The E300 is sturdily built - a lot more than I would expect for the money. I weigh 210 lbs and the structure doesn't flinch when I climb aboard (although the motor is clearly not intended for any hills or probably heavy riders). My son is about 60 lbs and we live in Florida (no hills), so this thing will hopefully last a long time. If you live where there are hills or you weigh more than 150 lbs, I recommend you look for another scooter. Happy riding.Razor E300 Electric Scooter Update: 10-01-2007 I took the E300 out for a test run myself after dropping my son off at school (I want to test the unit thoroughly inside the 30-day return policy). I cruised the entire neighborhood, local park and all around. It is a very blustery day (threatening rain and lots of wind), so I encountered lots of headwinds. Through the ride I was up and down small hills too. I did this entire drive without any stopping, and the E300 finally gave out at 25 minutes on the button (the motor was moderately hot to the touch). Because of my weight (210 lbs), I can tell the motor is small and not designed for any hills or adults, so I was very impressed by this performance, especially considering the occasional stiff headwinds that I could tell strained the motor (you have no choice but to stand straight up like a sail forcing against the motor). My 8-year-old son is about 65 lbs and has never seen the "low power" light yet during his two 35 minute runs. I still think we have winner!

This product has pretty solid construction. The handlebar height is adjustable. The tires are fat and hold traction well. I returned this product. The important part of a review for an electric scooter, to me, is your weight. I'm about 185 pounds - grown man. This scooter does okay on level surfaces, it even makes it up inclines, barely; but that aside, the battery life was about 20-25 minutes the first time I rode it and the second time was 20 minutes or less. This is versus the 6-8 hour charge time. So, you plug it in, charge it all night and you get about a 20 minute ride around the block and it's back to the charger. The specs say max load is 240 pounds, but that's clearly just what it can structurally support without the frame breaking. The motor could never move that much weight and it'd probably kill the motor if you tried. Again, it's not a bad product and it's a good entry level scooter for your young son or daughter, but don't get it if you're an adult. The greater the weight the shorter battery life. Someone like me can probably get away with a 2 mile round trip on a fairly even grade before the battery wears down. I've ordered the eZip 1000 as an alternative. It releases July 2008. It's more expensive, but I'd tentatively recommend it for an adult as opposed to this scooter, which, as I said, is more suited to a smaller person. I'm listed as zachmanx on epinions.com. I was a little worried about the power and battery life after reading some of the poor reviews; however, I purchased the scooter because there were so many good reviews. I gave it to my son for his birthday (he really wanted a Sony PSP), and he loves the scooter. We have moderate size hills in our area, and the scooter has no problem climbing them at a fair pace. The battery lasted longer than I expected. It's a quality built scooter--very sturdy. It is easy to assemble and they provide the tools to assemble. The only thing is that the rear-wheel tire inflator extender is difficult to find. You have to pry the end of the right (throttle side) hand grip. It has met my expectations, and when I asked my son if he wanted me to return the scooter and purchase a PSP, he smiled and said: "I didn't know about the scooter; I want the scooter!" NOW, I'll probably have to purchase another scooter for my daughter.
