  • Great scooter - worth the extra money
We debated for quite awhile on which scooter we should get - I thought this one was too much (to big, to fast, to expensive) but in the end the E300 was ordered. I'm very happy with the decision. The scooter was a Christmas gift for our 10 year old daughter and I keep thinking that the smaller units would be the safer bet - and apparently that is the same thought one of our neighbors had, they bought their 11 year old son the 200 model for Christmas. The 300 looks cooler and sturdier and actually is more stable than the 200 even though it goes faster. The speed difference probably isn't significant....unless you are on a 300 and the boy down the street has a 200...then the speed difference is "absulutely AWESOME" according to our daughter. We first found out about these scooters when my daughter's classmate received a 100 model last summer. We almost bought one in local store but I wanted to see what the other options were. This was absolutely the best option for us - heck, I even have fun riding it. The battery charge is limited by I actually think its perfect - with only 40 minutes or so of charge I can be sure she won't go far. She ran out of power once about 3 blocks from home and had to push home so now she stays pretty close to home or, if she goes a little further, will travel directly to where she's going and then come directly back. It almost like having a really long leash...in a good way. I've also noticed that it recharges to a full charge in much less time than the instructions mention - especially if you have it on a non GFI outlet that is on a lightly used circuit. Great little scooter! Yes, its the "bigger" one but the size and weight make this one feel safer and stronger than the littler ones. ... show more

  • Scooter-ific
Okay, my title may be a little corny but it's true! My tween daughter loves this scooter. It came in a box and required some assembly. I got it put together in a matter of 5 minutes or so even with my toddler running around. The battery needed charged for a long time before first use, which is typical, but my daughter was anxious to ride it. The next day, she rode it all over the place. We have a farm, and were surprised that it even goes in the grass some. It does a beautiful job on pavement and can reach pretty high speeds! Because it's battery powered, it doesn't go up hills all that fast, but it made it up with my 100 pound daughter just fine. We liked the display that shows when your battery is beginning to wear down so if you're far away from your home, you can begin heading back. I would recommend using helmet and knee pads, elbow pads, etc... It is an excellent toy, and I (along with my daughter) would highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Fast Scooter
I purchased this scooter for my 11 year old daughter. Ordered on a Saturday and Amazon had it delivered to me on Monday with regular ground shipping. Great service. The box arrived with a few dings, but there was no damage. Simple assembly and good instruction manual. Instruction manual states, "use supplied tools only as a last resort," Razor says to use "professional" grade tools if at all possible. Since only one tool was supplied, this wasn't a big deal. The scooter came pre-charged and I topped it off until the charger light was green. My daughter has no problem riding the scooter and enjoys it a lot. Although the motor is bigger than some, the scooter doesn't have much power up hills. A charge lasts for about one-half hour of riding. There is a special adapter used to inflat the tires, the adaptor is stored in the handlebars, something I didn't see mentioned in the manual. My only concern is potential damage caused by leaving the power switch on for extended periods, causing battery damage. I wish the scooter would turn itself off after a period of non-use. ... show more

  • Good for adults, Awesome for the price.
I clocked the top speed at 12mph with me on it (150lbs). It goes slower with heavier people on it. Otherwise I like to ride it to and from work each day and can take it on the subway with me. It's a little heavy to lug up and down the subway stairs but the handlebar folds down so you can get it into car trunks easily. I can even sit in a front seat with it between my legs. People in the ghetto always ask me "How much?" when I ride through there; a teenager even said he'd fight me for it. People on the financial district subway always ask me "Where did you get that?". Very strange difference in the two classes, you think the questions would be the other way around. I've had to repair the inner tube on the front tire twice since I popped it riding over a large thorn. Pretty simple to get it off, but make sure you pay very close attention to how it came apart because if you can't remember how it goes back together then you're gonna have a tough time. Probably want to film yourself taking it apart for reference. Otherwise it's simple to repair the inner tube and change tires. Make sure you account for all the pieces (washer, nuts etc) too if you take it apart. When riding, it has one speed. You pull the throttle on the handle towards you and it will accelerate up to it's top speed. When you let off the throttle, it actually slows itself down enough to where I don't even need to use the brake except for emergencies. So you can regulate the speed by going On, off. On, off. On, off with the throttle. The battery lasts for a couple miles. Oh, and it's very, very quiet when driving. Going through the neighborhood at night won't wake anyone up. Just be sure to call out to someone if you're riding on the sidewalk and coming up behind them because they never hear it and some people get startled when you ride by. ... show more
