  • Great product
I purchased this laptop used from amazon warehouse deals and I have to says that for being used, it looked brand new without any wear or damage. I have been using this laptop for a few weeks and I have to says that it is a well designed product. It runs flawlessly even while playing games on it. I may have been one of the fortunate people that did not get a Razer that had an issue with the fan issue that I have been reading about. Even when the fan does come on it is not that noticeable to me. The RGB keyboard on this laptop looks amazing and the customization available are great. The only issue that I had with this laptop was when I first set it up, the razer synapse software would not run. This was not a big issue it was a simple reinstall and I was good to go. Also it is a bit of a fingerprint magnet. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an ultrabook. I came from a macbook pro and I can say that the quality of this laptop is great. ... show more

  • Great Laptop, One Flaw
Past Experience: This is my second Blade Stealth bought. The first one I had bought was the same model except with the 12.5" screen which had issues with a flickering screen. After spending 3 weeks in RMA total I had finally received a different broken laptop. The customer service was horrific. I won't go into too much detail, but I would never trust Razer's "customer service" if you have issues. Amazon helped me out, while Razer held $1400 of my money. Review Of Unit: This being my second unit I ran this laptop under full load constantly for a good few weeks. I wanted to see if any issues existed on my laptop. I did eventually notice one, but it was not major to the point of return or repair and I fixed it myself. The fan in the unit has a "buzzing sound" or a coil whine. The noisy fans are common in Razer's products and are usually fixed with a BIOS updates, but this laptop has not received the fix yet. What I did to fix it was turn my Max CPU speed to around 80-85% to get the noise to go away. It is very minimal and can only be heard in a very quite room, so it's not a deal breaker. If you decided to buy this and run into the same issue I would wait. I would not trust Razer at all. Overall the laptop is fast, smooth, reliable, and fun to use! The new screen size is awesome and much better to compare to the older model. I'm able to run all the adobe applications and work on website design quickly and efficiently! ... show more

  • Nice Quad Core Update - Quiet on low power mode - works well with eGPU
I recently purchased the updated 2017 version of this laptop through Razer's site with the 8th Gen i7-8550u CPU. It's a quad core so it gets a little boost over the previous versions. This version is not for sale on Amazon yet. The laptop feels solid and seems to be built well. My previous travel computer is a MacBook 12. Coming from that I'm used to silence, so how do the fans on this hold up? Well they certainly do spin up when the CPU cranks up - but no louder then the fans on a MacBook pro 13 in my opinion. When I do light browsing in bed or just watch youtube videos I put the laptop in power save mode and cut the turbo boost and this for the most part kills the fan so they don't come on. I can browse in peace like on the MacBook 12 then. I haven't really noticed much or any coil wine on mine either. I got the Sonnet eGFX Breakaway 550 as an EGPU for this. It is able to provide the wattage to charge the laptop through the USB-C port at the same time. I happened to have a Aorus GTX 1080ti extreme from another desktop build so I tried that out with the enclosure. It fits just fine - and that is a huge card. I fired up Rise of the Tomb Raider at 4K directX 12 with most everything on very high and AA off and I was able to get 53-55FPS on the benchmark test. Min FPS was around 25 Max around 77. The game felt pretty much smooth as butter at 4K using the GTX1080Ti + eGPU with the new 8 core low voltage CPU. I was happy with the performance. With the same card in my desktop with and i7-7700K I got around 65 FPS on the benchmark with the same settings, so it wasn't too far off. Overall good little laptop and I plan to do some more testing in the coming days. ... show more

  • Laptop charging port broke within 10 months. Razer quoted 14 working days to fix it.
The charging port (USB C) on the laptop is very poor quality. With completely normal usage, the USB C port on my laptop broke off the motherboard within 10 months. The laptop only has one charging port, which meant I couldn't charge my laptop after the battery ran out, so I was left without a working laptop. What I expected was that Razer would honor their warranty in a timely fashion. However, they informed me that it would take 14 working days for them to fix the issue. That's 3 weeks! I use this laptop for work. I can't go without a laptop for 3 weeks. They didn't offer a loaner device, or any service to extract my data from the dead machine. The laptop case is very robust (nice, black metal), but the internals are shoddily constructed and you'll pay for this later. 100% avoid. Rather get a Lenovo (which sadly isn't as robust as they once were, but are still much better than this Razer). ... show more

  • Fan can be loud like others said but it doesn't kick on that often ...
Fan can be loud like others said but it doesn't kick on that often as I bought it for light working needs. Some software doesn't seem optimized for the high res display so it can be very tiny and hard to read. Design of the machine is sooo sexy and it feels great. I turned the touchscreen off because I don't think I will ever use it. ... show more

  • Works until it doesn't
Laptop worked wonderfully until it didnt. Rarely played any games on it as to be expected as it is not a gaming laptop. Eventually after two years the mobo on the unit died. Didnt purchase an extended warranty and outside manufacturer warranty so now I just have a nice looking paperweight until I figure out what to do. ... show more
