Picture is of the Oiled Tabbaco leather Birkenstock. Leather marks up as you wear ‘em which I like. Good fit... I wear size 8-8.5 normally and the 38 fits perfect. Socks or no socks, these are great sandals.

First off, I ordered the tobacco oiled leather and got the ordinary kind, definitely not oiled. I bought Birkenstocks because I was tired of the cheaper versions breaking down and expected superior quality and comfort for the price. When I put them on I couldn’t believe how hard the footbed was! Most uncomfortable sandal I’d ever tried to walk on. I don’t get it. There’s so many more footbed sandals that may not have the name but sure feel better on the feet. I was so bummed to have to return them. ... show more

Perfect as always. Love my Birkenstock’s. I have flat feet, plantar fasciitis and heel spurs but I can walk around in my Birkenstocks for hours on end without pain anywhere.

Upon receiving my sandals, I found the buckle was broken/bent. The metal bar that rests on the buckle itself, to hold the strap in place didn't reach the buckle. Therefore, the strap doesn't stay in place. I am extremely disappointed as I know birkenstocks are supposed to be high quality and durable. I wanted them for a trip I am taking and will now not be able to have them. ... show more

    • Break In Required!

I haven’t worn the Arizona sandals in quite a few years and I’d forgotten the need for a break in period with the stiff leather. The second strap that goes near the ankle really was uncomfortable the first time or two or three that I wore them. I loosened the strap as much as possible so when my foot bent when walking, in wasn’t digging into my foot. I ordered the Tobacco oiled leather but these are quite dark - closer to the Habana oiled leather but I’m happy enough to keep them. Sometimes there is just a little difference in the color of the leather and I think that’s the case with this purchase. I do think the suede Arizonas as well as the nubuck, vegan pull-up and Birko-Flor have no break in required - they are comfortable out of the box but these will take some wearing before you get the Birkenstock happy face! ... show more
