Bought this a few weeks ago since I wanted both a laptop I can relax in the evenings with on my lap as well as Fly around in MSFS 2020. It handles both Superbly! With Nvidia Optimus on and balanced mode, I'm able to get nice battery like 5+ hours of websurfing, video watching). The fan doesn't come on and it doesn't get too hot. i.e. it acts like a refined thin high end laptop. With a USBC 100W charger, it will charge just fine. Then I set it to High Performance settings and with supplied power brick and fire up MSFS and an external 4k monitor through a thunderbolt docking station, I can get 25-40 FPS on Ultra settings and 4k resolution and it's absolutely gorgeous. The fan gets loud for sure and it needs the high power brick when gaming, but the system stays pretty cool. ... show more

When I decided to buy this laptop I fully expected that I would get an awesome piece of kit. But instead I got the King of laptops. What Razer has managed to do here is amazing. This laptop is heads and shoulders above the Alienware 17 R5 that it replaces. It games with ease, it edits video with ease, it handles everything I've thrown at it with ease. It's large, too large for me. But it does act as a portable gaming and workstation for me, however, I wish the RAM was more. But pro-tip if you desire more than 2 hours of battery life, I recommend downsizing your screen size and avoid 4k resolution. I am going to compare this to the Dell XPS 17 and I will keep it short. I wanted to like the Razer Blade as it is very powerful and the chassis is built so well. I really wanted to keep it. The good: It is powerful and you can play most games at high frame rates. The RGB keyboard is really cool, almost infinitely variable lighting. Sound is pretty good and nice 120Hz, 4K touch screen. The bad: The keyboard is terrible for typing (you will see this on many reviews and it is true). The worst thing is the row with the shift key is "shifted" to the left (see picture). Look at any other keyboard and the keys in that row are centered between the keys in the row above, but not on the Razer. Why did Razer feel the need to reinvent this? This is the real deal-breaker for me. The Dell has a terrific keyboard. Windows Hello will not recognize me half the time. The Dell is excellent at signing you in without any issue, no matter if I am wearing a hat, sitting slightly off center, etc. This is a heavy beast. The Dell is more than 1.5 pounds lighter if you include the power supply. The power port is just ridiculous. You can work with it, but why? You can plug the Dell in on either side. The Dell has the same CPU, but it is allowed to work harder. It benchmarks better than the Razer Blade. The Dell's 4K screen is only 60 HZ but it has inkier blacks and looks better. It also has almost no bezel at the bottom of the screen. Did I mention that the Dell is quite a bit smaller? Fingerprint magnet-no kidding, the Dell still looks new. $1000 more than the Dell. Only real difference being the RGB keyboard and the 2080. If you are avid gamer then it may be worth it. I prefer a laptop that is more of an all-rounder. ... show more

I have a couple minor complains, like the short battery life, that you can't change the color of the led on the back or that if I bought it again I think the touchscreen is not worth it. Absolutely unbelievable. Every laptop I’ve had from razer has had some issue that fell under warranty. I assumed that the stealth blades weren’t their highest end products so perhaps that was the issue. Now I spent $4300 on this/ their top of the line 2800 super max — this 17” pro and the screen completely died within the first 30 days!!!! I adjusted the angle of the screen slightly and the screen went black. I returned it to the working position and the screen was visible. I moved it back to the black screen position — and now it won’t turn on for any number of resets and angle readjustment! It was about a 1” arc range that triggered the failure in a totally normal use angle. I use this machine for my work and now I can’t use it!!! And their RMA process takes over a month!!!! (I know because of my 2 other razer laptops that had issues within weeks of owning). This is entirely unacceptable. Clearly their entire line has problems. I will never take a risk on these nor give them the benefit of the doubt again. Further, their customer service is the biggest headache of circular outsourced customer service nonsense I’ve ever experienced in my life. It took weeks to even get an rma approval on my first two laptops. I’m not looking forward to this next headache. UPDATE: 3 days after I opened my support ticket with razer I still got no response... and instead received a message telling me that I hadn’t responded to the ticket and it was going to be closed! They never reached out or replied to me! Only let their automated system try to end the ticket because they completely refused to even read (or respond to) my ticket!!! Pathetic on the level of fraud! Absolutely ignored fulfilling their advertised warranty! ... show more

This is for the 2020 8-core/4K 120Hz model, which ships with the 2080 Super Max-Q, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. Pros: - Very nice screen, with excellent uniformity and color. 120Hz may be their lowest refresh-rate option, but it's still much nicer than 60Hz, and the 4k resolution is great for work and productivity. - Excellent touchpad and good keyboard feel, though the keyboard key depth is a bit shallow. - Great build quality; chassis is machined from a solid block of aluminum. Feels solid and looks great. - Great connectivity, with 2.5 Gigabit ethernet for wired connections, and WiFi 6 for connecting wirelessly. - Compact for what it offers, with an 8-core CPU, a high-end GPU, and a large screen in a laptop that is not much larger or thicker than a weaker 15" model. - Centered keyboard for those who don't need a keypad, and value the centered keyboard for ergonomic reasons - this to my knowledge is the only 17" class laptop that has a centered keyboard, and was a key factor in my purchase decision as a mobile workstation over similar DTR-class systems. Cons: - Edges of the keyboard deck are sharp and would have been more user-friendly if chamfered; fortunately because the keyboard is centered and the deck is pretty wide, you can usually avoid resting your hands/wrists on the edges, especially if you put the laptop on some kind of angled stand like I do. - No configuration options from the factory means you will likely want to some upgrades yourself - such as replacing the RAM (upgradeable to 64GB with two 32GB SODIMMs from the stock 16GB), add a second M.2 SSD for more storage, and may want to upgrade the OS as well if you need pro-grade features such as Bitlocker, etc. (it comes with Windows 10 Home; if you want to upgrade you need to purchase a Windows 10 Pro or Workstation license from Microsoft). - When at 100% load on all CPU cores, the CPU settles into a steady state speed of 2.5-2.6 GHz while plugged in. This is a bit lower than I was hoping for. - Battery life is not great - but that's also to be expected with this class of laptop. This is a machine you will want to set up near an outlet rather than something to use unplugged for significant periods of time. - Expensive (especially in light of the fact that you may want to make some of the aforementioned upgrades, adding to the total cost). Overall, I really like this laptop. While it can't match the power and ergonomics of a good desktop setup, it should be more than adequate for mobile work, and I'm pleased with it so far. The value of having a good screen/keyboard/touchpad really can't be overstated unless you intend to only ever use the laptop plugged in to external peripherals, and is a significant factor in giving it my high rating. ... show more

Razer Blade Pro 17 Gaming Laptop 2020 Fantastic. Perfecto. 4k touch screen. 2080 Graphics Card. 10875H i7 8 core processor (same as i-9). RGB keyboard, with Synapse 3 software. Two M.2 SSD Slots. Can easily access and upgrade RAM and SSD's. Beware many competitors solder in one of the RAM so you can't get 64gb RAM, you can only get 40GB or 48 GB RAM because either a 8 GB RAM or 16 GB RAM is solder in. Not this, you can easily upgrade RAM. Many competitors only have 1 M.2 SSD slot or 1 M.2 SSD slot and 1 HDD slot. This has two M.2 SSD slot. I have a 2TB SSD in one slot and a 4TB SSD in the other slot. This thing is a powerhouse. Gorilla Glass 4k OLED touch screen. Amazing. ... show more
