Pyromaniacs will love it!! If you like a good fire tornado you will not be disappointed because this thing burns like a blowtorch. Lighting it was a little slow and that was maybe due to the type of pellets that I bought. I have the solid fuel fire starters on order to make lighting easier. I lighted it with a propane torch directed up from the bottom thru the grates and at first it smoked till the fire got hot enough to get the secondary gasses ignited and then it took off like a jet engine. There is almost no smoke once it gets going. There were lots of sparks coming out the top and a few out the bottom as the ash drops into the ash tray, as you can see in the video. You probably should not use it on a combustable wood or composite surface without constant supervision and never use it on a porch with an overhang or ceiling above. I bought the 67 inch bigger one and liked it so much that I just ordered the smaller 58 inch one for use at a cottage I own up north. The steel is a pretty heavy gauge. The Black Friday deal can't be beat. Now for the bad stuff. 1) You cannot shut it off. There is no way to stop the pellets from dropping into the burner area to shut it off. It simply has to burn itself out once you light it up, so only put as many pellets in the hopper as you want to burn at any time. You can always add more if the fire burns down before the party is over. 2) It also has no way to adjust the flames by limiting the amount of air with an adjustable damper device on the air intake. Air just comes in thru a wide open space. As much as I like the big flames and lots of heat of the 67 inch model, I hope the smaller one will burn with a little less intensity. I will update after it arrives. 3) These are made in China and the quality of the paint is pretty bad. There were some areas that the paint was peeling right out of the box. But to buy a similar pellet burner made in USA was 5 times the price, and I don't think they have a way to stop the pellets or adjust the fire either. A can of high temperature black grill paint to touch up the paint is a cheap fix. I could not fabricate this for this price it is a good value for the money

Good flame (licks a few inches above glass), good heat, maintained, didn't fade, even filled hopper midway, no issue. Smoke free when flame going. Use heating pellets (softwood) not hardwood smoker pellets. Start with solid fuel firestarter, others mentioned lighter fluid, but will smoke heavy if started slow.

The media could not be loaded. Initially I was going to return this item as it didn’t work as the seller claimed. The flame would start out high for a short period then go to being very low, and it chard the glass tube. But after doing some research, I discovered all pellets aren’t created equal! My mistake was using the same pellets I used for my grill. This is designed for heating pellets only! Specifically, “SOFT” wood heating pellets. After I figured that out, this item kept the flame roaring for more than 2+hours!!! It also helps to get the flame started with some lighter fluid.
