Description

The Raypak Digital Cupro-Nickel Natural Gas Heater is engineered to last. Looking at the heater, you can see that it's designed differently than most heaters on the market. The Raypak Digital Cupro-Nickel Natural Gas Heater's unique "pagoda design" enables the heater to stay effective during high wind speeds and downdrafts. The cabinet of the heater is constructed from a galvanized metal, then powder coated with a 7 stage process to outlast the elements and corrosion. Inside the unit, the heater boasts polymer resin headers and a cupro-nickel fin tube to stand up against harsh pool chemicals and prevent rust stains on your pool's surface.The Raypak Digital Cupro-Nickel Natural Gas Heater not only lasts long, but is extremely easy to use and operate. The heater has a built-in Microprocessor Controlled Thermostat to set you pool or spa at the perfect temperature with the push of a button. It's also remote compatible and can connect to any two or three wire remote for added convenience. The heater also contains built-in diagnostic controls to alert users or pool professionals of any issues and the location of these issues. In addition, the heater contains built-in electronic ignition. This enables the unit to turn the pilot light off and on when needed, conserving gas usage and saving users money.

This heater is fantastic! It has a digital thermometer, so no need to have that little thermometer on the side of your pool any longer taking away the aesthetics of the pool. It brought my pool temperature from 80 to 84 in LESS THAN TWO HOURS!!! Does it use a lot of gas, sure. But if you want your pool to be warm, and to be warm quickly, this is the best you can get! I installed it in 2018, not once have I been able to open the pool and start using the heater in May. Each year something is wrong and needs replacing, temp sensor goes every year, thermostat every year. Springs for the pressure valve replaced twice. O rings replaced last year when changing the springs now leaking this year and need to be replaced. I would not recommend purchasing it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I installed it myself in one day. Everything I needed was at the Home Depo. My Pool is 18 by 36. 35,000 gallons. Water is now 82°. Just by complete chance a relestate agent in the area Saw me installing the heater and noticed no mention of a pool in my yard. So he reappraised my home from 750,000$ to $1,325,000 . You must understand pool plumbing and gas and electrical requirements to self install. Not for those without knowledge. We had lots of pre prep work with Gas lines adjusting pool fence. We have a nice set up now. Probably spent $250 in gas to heat pool to 85 to swim first day of May in PA. We will see how much gas we use going forward. Weather not to be near as nice as first two days of May for the next week. ... show more

    • Turn Up the Heat

Purchased this from an authorized Raypak dealer in GA after checking with Raypak and their informing me they won't honor a warranty on an Internet purchased unit. This is a shame as the price is at least $400 less buying on Amazon. I wanted to share my experience in installing this unit as I couldn't find much on-line to guide me. Here are my tips: 1) The unit is super quite, despite what others have reported. You'll find your pool pump is much louder. 2) The unit puts out a lot of heat so you will need to clear all tree limbs over the unit to at least eight feet above the heat stack. 3) Both the plumber for the gas line and the Raypak installer must be licensed or your warranty is void. Keep all documentation. 4) We have a 16,125 gallon pool, the unit heats at 1.5 degrees an hr. We have a filtration recycle rate of pool water of 12 hours so it will be at least 12 hours before you replace all your water at the temp you want if its really cold outside. For example 5) Make sure you have the gas company installs a gas meter properly sized for the unit and your other gas appliances. 6) The gas line should have two shut off valves, one on each end and a P-trap. 7) Make sure the right size line is used for the distance and BTUs. Under sizing the line significantly reduces the efficiency of the unit. 8) The power to run the milli start switch will come from the power from the filer. 9) I can't say this enough - YOU MUST HAVE BALANCED PH AND CHLORINE to ensure you get long life from the unit. I will update with more experiences as we have had this running for only one week now. It was great to go swimming in April with 85 degree water when the outside temp was 70. ... show more
