This is my second e-bike and i was quite concerned before getting it. A bike that costs over $1,700, but it is worth the money. My first bike had an exposed battery. After riding for a period of time, and the battery dropped, i couldn't use it normally. I tried to contact the seller about the issues, but i didn't get any reply.I tried to fix it but unfortunately failed, then i lost my first e-bike. I discovered that there are in-tube batteries for electric bikes, which is more durable and safe. This was exactly what i wanted. I made some research on youtube and decided to choose pathfinder by comparing some brand. I sent some messages to them for more detailed information about bike and rattan customer service replied on 24hours. I told them about my terrible experience with my first bike and they told me that the probability of this happening with an in-tube battery is low-probability, if the electric bike has any problems, i can contact them by phone or email and they will reply within 24 hours or go to rattan's electric bike repair station for repairing. I live in California, and there is a rattan electric bike repair store nearby me. Finally, i decided to buy a green step-over ebike. I placed the order on apr 2 and received it on apr 5, faster than i expected. I had already seen the unboxing video on youtube, so i spent about 20 minutes to assemble the bike. Pros: --750w hub motor and 8-speed shifter make climbing up hills a breeze --Hydraulic brakes perform very well on the downhill and the fenders provide great support when i ride on roads. --Sturdy rear rack, I can strap my bag to the rear rack it's easy and convenient. --The lighting system performs very well. The headlight and taillight are very bright. The taillight flashes when braking, providing a clear and prominent signal to the vehicles and pedestrians behind. The large and bright headlight offers more security when i ride at night. --Full-color display is easily visible even during daytime riding or i can check the distance, battery, and other information through the app. Cons: The bike does not come with mirrors and the seat is kind of small for me. I may need to buy a new seat. It is great value for the money. I don’t see anything that could go wrong with this purchase. ... show more

    • Initial Quality is Suspect
I just got the bike. This is my initial impression, haven't ridden it yet. The rear rack badly out of alignment with the screw holes, very difficult to put on. Maybe it took a hit in shipping because the cage protecting the rear derailleur was bent, preventing normal function of the derailleur. I just took it off completely. And speaking of the rear derailleur, it needed set up from scratch. Keep that in mind if you are considering getting this bike. Will report back after I have had it for a while, but not terribly impressed so far. ... show more

    • There’s a lot to like here
I shopped around quite a bit before settling on the Rattan Pathfinder. To be honest: mind arrived with a defect; the rear brake cable was defective and was causing me to get them error code 25. Once I got that part and was able to get it installed the bike worked great. I did a 10 mile ride and had 50% of the battery left; plus I was pulling a trailer with the two dogs, that should’ve drain the battery more than simply riding by myself. This bike takes a little getting used to, if you’re used to you using a regular bicycle there are some differences you have to be aware of. I like the big tires I like the sturdy frame ( I’m 511, 250 pounds) so the larger size bike works well for me. Since I can’t speak to all the other E bikes on the market, I’ll speak to this one: it’s a good bike. ... show more

After unpacking and assembling the Rattan Pathfinder, I am very pleased with my purchase. The design and construction of the bike is excellent. It was also well packed. The assembly instructions were fairly good. I had a little trouble figuring out how to orient the handlebar (I mounted it upside down) but otherwise the assembly was straightforward. This is my first ebike, though I have a mountain bike. The battery is huge. I was surprised how much it weighs. Took 3 to 4 hours to charge. The weight of the bike is high but it is built like a tank. Taking the battery out before transporting the bike will help. Took a quick spin. The big tires make for a nice ride. The handlebar controls are well laid out. The display is easy to read. And the app looks like it has some nice features. My only complaint is that the green paint is not available in the ST. My wife really wants a green step thru. ... show more

did a local trip mix of hills, gravel and pavement. Battery was at 75%. 15miles got battery to 25%. this seems a draw compared to other ebikes. really fast bike. need to get a feel for modes. cruise control feature not noted, but built in. not clear on how it functions. regen brakes were inactivated by supplier - not told till received. this seller charged shipping, mfr doesn't - so price was equivalent. Not happy about communication of feature inactivation - it was part of my choice to purchase. shipping back is too expensive, so requesting compensation for the loss of function. switchable shock setting nice. water bottle install on center support may interfere with battery depending on bottle size. assy was simple, may need to adjust deraullier. ... show more
