    • I LOVE this thing despite a few problems
I bought this for commuting since I live too far from the bus-line, I'm too poor to do Uber as often as I need, and my heart, lungs, and leg muscles can no longer tolerate pedalling. I absolutely love it, it is so fun, BUT..... It developed an electrical problem on my second ride. I am currently working with Rattan to complete my warranty repair. It was packaged securely with expanding foam and arrived in great condition. I'm confident I received an older model since the battery used the DC charger rather than the three pronged one and the controller was the M5 rather than the YL80C as discussed in the manual. I contacted the seller (Pinky Sports) about a manual/instructions for that controller and they were extremely professional about being unable to help. An internet search turned up nothing. I did not contact Rattan directly or check with an eBike internet community because I figured it out. No real assembly required. Just unfold and stick the handlebar assembly and seat in the slot. Only minimal adjustments were needed. I had to increase the tension on the quick releases and adjust the kick-stand longer to keep the bike more upright for better weight balance. At top speed (25 - 30 mph) on very flat asphalt roads I was able to go 35 miles using battery power only. (my main concern). As to the electrical problems: I rode over asphalt-levelled railroad tracks at about 20mph when the controller first became completely unpowered. I was able to get it working again until a dump truck driver triggering his air horn had me react with a hard braking. When I was able to get it to power up again the controller threw an Error Code 30: Controller Problem. Based on what happened I feel there is probably a "short" with the brake sensor. As I say, I am working with Rattan and an eBike internet community to get it working again Four stars because: 1- it is an older model (especially the controller, the battery is no problem) 2- While the included manual does say to check the electrical system there are no guides on HOW to do it, either in the package or at Rattan's website. 3- I did not notice anything about the bike not being rainproof (definitely an issue in Florida) in any of the marketing information, but that might have been my oversighty On the whole, though, I love this thing. And considering this is the only kind of motorized transportation I'm legally allowed to use in Florida because of my one cataract it's perfect for me. Or it will be perfect when I get it working again. My wish list includes: 1- replacing the rear seat with lockable hard-shell storage trunk and/or saddlebags) for an additional battery/batteries to extend range and for other personal items. 2- A much more soft and comfortable saddle. While the stock one is great for short-range it does get uncomfortable after a couple of hours. 3- Replace the off-road tires with street tires for a smoother and more energy-efficient ride since it's only ever going to be used on paved roads. 4- Weatherproofing if it's even possible because, as I say, this is Florida which is as much the rainfall state as it is the sunshine state. ... show more

My husband and I bought the LM-750 bikes and we love them so far. Disappointed with packaging on one of the bikes. They encase the bikes in plastic and fill with spray foam. On one bike they got the foam on the bike and wheel and I can get it off. I can’t use acetone because it’ll probably take the paint off. Very frustrating because these are not cheap bikes. ... show more

Overall the design and build is solid. My only concern was that the rear tire went flat after a couple days, and I wasn't able to find a Rattan authorized repair in the area. I finally ordered a replacement tube for about $40 - about 4 times the cost for more regular sized tires. Also, it is on the heavy side for a foldable bike although some of the weight is reduced by pulling out the battery which is very convenient and easy to do. I really enjoy riding this bike and it has great features for cruising, good gearing and a great look. I have to upgrade my rating to 5 stars - really should be 6! This is a really well designed and solidly built bike. I had the tubes slimed and have been riding over rough terrain with no problem. Even on paved streets the ride is smooth. Now have just over 300 miles. The battery easily runs 40 to 50 miles at power level two on relatively flat terrain and recharges in a four to five hours. It's a lot of fun to ride ... show more

The bike frame is solid and well made but the brakes are particularly bad and not as advertised. The bike arrived with paint damage that support just blew off saying they would send a free gift as compensation. I received nothing. The components are all entry level and very cheap. Please save yourself the hassle and order from a company that has support in the country you live in. ... show more

We bought two of these bikes just before Christmas and took them to FL with us (from MI). We have been riding them all over the whole month of January while in Fort Myers Beach. They are amazing. The battery has lasted an unbelievable amount of time. It gets you up hills like nothing. We love the bikes. We never use the hand gas. We use the pedal assist to go. I’ve had it up to 20 mph and was too scared to go any faster, but it could have. You just need to practice in an open area for a little bit to get the hang of it. if you stop; you want to turn the assist off or it will bolt out as soon as you touch the pedal. Also turning corners takes a little practice. This bike could be very dangerous if you aren’t careful around other bikes, cars and pedestrians. It is very powerful and heavy. You’re going to love this bike. Get the larger engine for sure! (the 750). Everyone keeps asking about these bikes. They were a great buy. (for the record; my husband and I are in our late 50’s). I got the bike with the low scoop bar for easy on and off. My husband got the normal straight bar. We ordered a heavy duty bike carrier that locks on Amazon, super heavy duty U locks/wire coated chains, and saddle bag carriers and a cooler carrier for the back. We will get some mirrors to add and may be a basket for the front. My husband put them together and said the worst part was unpacking them, otherwise not too hard. Fun! ... show more
