You can rinse it and clean it so it will last a long time. Large numbers, flip up nose stop, easily cleanable, compact size. For saltwater fishing especially on kayak, surf, or pier, you won’t have room for a long solid fish bump board. This works great, just be sure and rinse it to keep to rewind mechanism clean.

Seriously, buy it. More people need to be checking their fish measurements. This tape is badass, super easy to read, retracts easy, unroll it and hose it down... Perfect for salt water, use it for any fish honestly. Just get it. Should be in every angler's tackle box/bag.

The tape is adequately readable and durable. It's rather heavy and bulky though, at least for in a backpack situation. I purchased this tape for my surf fishing backpack. It feels well made and is retractable, which is cool and all, but it's bulk is kind of hard to find a place to put it. And it feels heavy. The triangular shape makes it take up a lot of space in the top of my backpack, that I would rather use for a jacket. I think if they made this a manual wind instead of the spring loaded frame, that might help a lot, or just make a roll up surf tape.. that would be awesome. It would be great for the bass boat, but I already have a measuring board on the boat. ... show more

I'm pretty happy with this gadget! I've really never seen anything like this before. It's ridiculously easy to use and especially easy to read. The numbers are giant! The tape itself is a rubber or blend of rubber and plastics and is incredibly durable and thick.. The retractable spring for the tape is incredibly strong and retracts the tape at lightning speed, so watch your fingers! I love the concept rapala has for this. It rolls up easily and packs away well. I’m a very organized person and I love being able to slip this into my backpack without taking up hardly any room. It’s great for putting in small compartments in the boat. High quality material!
