I bought this to replace a disappointing ukulele from Memorex that I got as a Christmas present--no worries, I knew I was getting it because my daughter wanted me to learn with her. Anyway, everything I received worked without problems, and everything was packaged quite nicely (there was even an included battery for the tuner!). While I'm only a beginner, I do have some musical background. I can say that it feels solid (not cheap in any way) and it holds its tuning surprisingly well. I couldn't find any defects (finish, assembly, etc.). However, do NOT read the instruction manual; it will give you a headache and some laughs at the same time! The media could not be loaded. I got this as a gift for my son for his upcoming birthday. Very thoughtfully put together - I love that it includes a tuner, extra strings and a neck strap. I love the turquoise color! The wood is very light weight and I'm a little nervous to hand it over to my preschooler, but that would be the case for any instrument...! So far it has stayed in tune nicely, which can be troublesome for ukuleles in this price range. it's super fun to play, good sound. Strings it comes with say they are Aquila, but the additional strings don't seem to have a brand. This is a good choice for kids or for beginning ukulele players as a first instrument to try out. ... show more

This is great for beginners my son is 11 and it was very easy for him to use. Great quality for the price...its only flaw is that the electronic tuner doesn't come with a back piece so the battery does not stay in well. I had to tape it together.
