Description

Double Boiler & Dual PIDFor the first time, the Rancilio Silvia is equipped with two boilers; one to heat water for brewing coffee, and another for hot water and steam. Brew more drinks back-to-back without waiting between steaming and brewing, or froth milk while you pull a shot. Larger than previous models, the 1L steam boiler give you professional-grade steaming power to create barista-quality milk foam. Create all your favorites from lattes to cappuccinos to flat whites. The Silvia Pro gives you fine control over water temperature in both boilers via internal PID, offering precise temperature stability and simple adjustment. Pro FeaturesThe Silvia Pro has a completely redesigned interface for a cleaner user experience. Temperature regulation is easier than ever with the integrated digital display, which displays the brew temperature in real time. Also new to this machine is programmable shot timing. Water level alerts let you know when the water reservoir needs refilled. A programmable wake-up mode ensures your machine is hot and ready when you want it. The built-in 2-liter water tank is easily removed for cleaning. This is an extremely well manufactured espresso maker. No cheap materials anywhere. Features allow brewing perfect espresso, steamed milk, and hot water for any coffee bean.     • The Creme de la Crema of Espresso Machines
The best pro-sumer machine on the market, in my opinion. If you love espresso and making your own espresso drinks the Sylvia Pro represents the best value for a pro-sumer machine. It has 2 boilers, one for espresso and one for steam, so there's no waiting for a single boiler to heat up or cool down. Plus, you can make plain espressos and leave the steam boiler turned off if you want. It's a very well-built, heavy-duty machine for serious coffee lovers. If you're a Keurig-type person you'll hate it because it requires some (limited) skill to operate. You can individually set the brewing and steaming temperatures to your preference. It also features pre-infusion - you can set it to pre-wet the coffee for 1 to 6 seconds before the pump kicks in. You'll also need a high-quality burr grinder to go with the Sylvia Pro to take advantage of its superior quality. In order to pull great shots you need a very consistent grind. Previously I had a Gaggia Pro single boiler machine, and it made perfectly acceptable espresso, but you had to either pull the shot first and then wait for the boiler to heat up to steam OR steam the milk first and then purge the boiler to cool it down to pull the espresso shot. The steaming wand on the Sylvia Pro has 4 openings so it steams the milk much faster than the Gaggia Pro, more like a commercial unit. ... show more

Family of 5 making1-2 shots each daily. Pays for itself in a month or two. We’ve had it for approximately 4 months and I’m getting rich during the Biden economic crisis. My latte has increased approximately 40% in cost over the last 2-3 years. We couldn’t afford for everyone to visit our local coffee shop 1-2x per day so we bought this basic machine. I can make a better drink with much more consistent flavor after purchasing this machine. You need to adjust the settings with different beans and grinds, otherwise you might be disappointed. It’s easy to adjust and requires a little knowledge and experimenting. UPDATE: Still going strong. I think we have saved approximately $40k in Starbucks. ... show more

    • It’s become an essential part of my morning routine
I’ve had this machine for two and a half years. Every day I’ve pulled three double shots: one test to make sure the espresso is dialed in, and then one for a cortado and another for a latte. It’s been a fantastic workhorse. I don’t live in a major city anymore and it’s hard to get good espresso based drinks near me. The Rancilio has basically solved this. And it’s become a pleasant morning ritual. Of all my purchases of the last couple years this has been the most impactful in my life. If you have a lot of people over the size of the water tanks can be an issue. But for 2-4 people it’s perfect. My advise to purchasers is to spend some extra money on a barista training class. It’s fun and you really learn how to properly pull a shot and get the right milk texture. I can’t compare this to other machines since it’s the only one I’ve ever owned at this price point. But for me it has been perfect. I miss it when I’m on vacation or a work trip. ... show more

Hits the sweetspot between features, quality and price. You don't pay for fancy looking handcrafted wooden handles and stuff but you get a hefty beast of an espresso machine that works. Its construction allows for decent maintenance and repairs without having to replace the whole thing. Are there better machines out there?     • Amazing value, if you know how complex the espresso machine market is
This machine is fantastic. My first machine was the Rancilio Silvia, and I loved it and learned how to make espresso with it (while also working as a barista throughout college). It was missing some major features, like the PID, soft-infusion, a pressure gauge, and a second boiler. This machine fixes all of those issues. What’s most impressive is the second boiler. Most machines like this with a second boiler cost well over twice as much as this machine does. This can take you from beginner to pro levels of espresso making if you learn properly. ... show more

    • A worthy update to world classic espresso machine
This espresso machine is amazing. Don't listen to the reviewers on Amazon saying that they couldn't get good results, this machine is easy to use as far as real espresso machines go. An important note to make is this machine cannot be used with tap water like every other high end espresso machine, I highly recommend getting a water distiller and mixing up Dr. Pavlis water (Google for recipe and more info). Using overly hard water will ruin this machines boiler prematurely. The first machine I received was faulty, this was a bit frustrating but Seattle Coffee Gear was very fast to make it right and replaced my faulty machine.
