  • Works Okay on VFR800A
Be aware that if you install the provided metal flat washer (top washer) as instructed, the stem's ball mount will rotate slowly with road vibration. I cured this by using a toothed lock washer instead of the flat washer. I deducted one star because of this annoyance. It was easy to install and the instructions were clearly written. ... show more

  • Works good
Easy to install and works good. The first time I went to use the rubber thing that holds the corners of my phone it broke. It was probably the wrong size. I have a iPhone 13 pro.

  • Not fun to mount, but it works
Limit your expectations. I installed this on my CB500F which has the Handlebar stem tucked 2 inches under the handlebars. The experience is not fun, nor as easy as it could be. Pros: The actual phone mount is sturdy and works as intended. The ball joint is about as normal as it could be; easy to use, stays tight and feels sturdy. Cons: The kit does not include an Allen/Hex key, meaning you have to source your own. The mount that goes into the stem of the handlebars is annoying, hard to install and not sturdy; it slides from left to right and with very little force can be pulled out of the stem (even after tightening it down so that the insert bulges and is hard to put back in without unscrewing it). You have to setup the mount yourself by measuring and cutting the stem insert, meaning you can mess up and waste your money. This is not reusable on more than one bike, if the stem of another bike is smaller or larger than the one you cut you have to buy a second/replacement insert. Depending on your handlebar setup it can be very annoying to tighten (I have a CB500F [pictured] that does not have easy access to the Stem). Instructions are fairly vague (4 images) and the website is unhelpful (all the tutorial videos are private). I would much rather a mount that tightens down on the handlebars instead of into the stem, that would make this mount not only reusable but also easier to install. I like the actual phone mount and appreciate that it has additional pieces to make it more sturdy. ... show more

  • Very high quality mount but putting it on is a project in itself.
Every piece arrived in good condition. Very high quality. The instructions were meh. They tell you the basics but when you really get to work you have to tailor the rubber pieces unless you get it perfect first try. I spent 2.5 hours cutting away at material and super gluing little parts back. Got some super glue on my hands yeah that was quite fun. But in the end it came out super sturdy and way higher quality than my last mount. The other reviews who say it is loose and moves around aren’t tightening it till the rubber expands inside the triple clamp stem. It’s not a defect, it’s a lack of directions. ... show more

  • The mount is good after modifications - see modification details below...
Two issues with this mount: 1) Took off 1/2 a star rating because the spring loaded arms for the phone mount interfere with the volume and power buttons on my iPhone 12 Pro if it's centered in the mount. I have to slide my phone all the way to one side to not be pressing buttons and this puts it at more of a risk of falling out. 2) Took off 1.5 stars because if installed as directed, the main ball assembly (the part that actually has the stem mount) will swivel and there is no way to stop it from doing so. If you further tighten the screw to expand the rubber inside the stem, the nut will literally chew away at the bottom of the rubber and destroy it and the top of the rubber will start protruding from the stem itself... and even then the main ball assembly will still swivel. On most bikes, such as my 2019 Yamaha R1, the fix to this is simple and took me less than 15 minutes to do the 5 steps below, BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE RIGHT TOOLS and a replacement bolt that is 5mm longer. A video of showing this exact issue and fix is on YouTube and can be found by searching for "Ram Mount Fork Stem X-grip Installation - Secure method". The only difference in my method is I cutoff entire bottom side of the the mount to be completely flat. 1) Find a nearby bolt on the handlebar and test out the location to ensure the RAM mount does not have any fitment issues. In my case, there is a M6-1.0x25mm bolt to the right of the stem. 2) Buy a new STAINLESS STEEL (do not cheap out here) bolt that is 5mm longer to account for the mount thickness if you choose to cut/grind the mount flat like I did. I chose to go with a button head bolt for a lower profile than the OEM bolt. 3) I used a cutoff wheel with an angle grinder and placed the mount in a vice to smoothly cut off the bottom side of the mount and make it flush all the way across. If you use a vice, be gentle, the ball is not metal and will get indentions if you clamp down too hard. 4) Expand the hole size in the mount to fit your bolt size. I used a step drill bit which made it easy and results in a cleaner finish than using a standard drill bit. 5) Use a little BLUE (so you can remove it later if needed) Loctite on the bottom of the bolt threads and tighten down the bolt snug (don't go crazy, let the Loctite do it's job). ... show more

  • It is a great item but it is hard to install.
I have a Yamaha r6. I have no complains about this product but as I can see and as I have experienced the same problems with many people. Once I installed it to my R6, this thing was spinning everywhere. I tried many ways trying to fix the problem. In many attempts to get it nice and firm, it took me atleast 10times removing it and reinstalling it. In the end I was able to get it to stay firmly. Everything was perfect, once it stayed firm it was a great product but it's just that installing steps that was such a hassle and at one point almost gave up and was going to buy a different product. ... show more
