    • Very heavy but great suction
I owned a Rainbow in the 70s when they first came out. It had fantastic suction and I cleaned with it all the time and I cleaned everything I could possibly vacuum, including curtains and blinds and baseboard heating. When the motor started losing suction after about 10 years, I had the motor replaced. It lasted nearly another 10 years. I've had many vacuums since then, both canister and uprights. I resisted buying another Rainbow due to cost. But now, with a larger house, more animals, and more allergies - I once again bought a Rainbow. The suction is great and the ability to keep the dust in the water and not blowing into the air is a plus for allergy sufferers. My problem now is that I didn't realize how really heavy it is. I now have fibromyalgia and I just can't pick up nor maneuver a heavy vacuum anymore. The power nozzle can't be adjusted so it's too powerful a suction for me to push around the rugs. I have an upstairs to vacuum now and carrying it up there is torture for my muscles. I'm sorry that I can't use a Rainbow anymore, but if you're strong or have a business to use it for, then it'll do a fantastic job of cleaning. It has one of the best dusting brushes out there. It has a very long hose. But it's cumbersome and too heavy if you have physical issues. ... show more

    • Great Vacuum, but pay attention to item details
This item will require a signature upon delivery. So if you work during the day you may want to have this shipped to your place of business, unless you have someone at home that can sign. I had to re-route the shipment due to this undisclosed requirement, so the "free" shipping turned into $5 shipping. Also, carefully review ALL descriptions. The description next to the item claims it will include fragrances, squeegee tool, auquamate 1 shampooer and aerofresh bag. The product description below the item does not list these items I just mentioned, so they are not included. After the purchase I was informed these are "optional" items, although no notations regarding "options" are listed in the description. Who buys a vacuum with capabilities of adding fragrance but does not buy the fragrance? I guess I do. I'm 100% satisfied with what I did receive and look forward to finally having a clean home, versus have dust flying all around the room while I'm vacuuming (which is what I'm used to with the past SIX vacuums I've owned). I purchased my first Rainbow vacuum cleaner in 1988. I love this product. My motor froze up after 20 years. I've been saving up to buy a new one. This one was only $199 and is perfect. It saved me $2000 off buying another new one.

We plugged it in and it didn't work. My husband thinks the cord was pulled loose from the motor. To have it repaired will be $180.00. So were stuck with another broken vacuum cleaner. Dorothy Elwood

I love the rainbow vacuum. Best buy I have made. But this one the hose doesn't stay together even when you've turned it on. Other then that it works great!
