  • STOP COMPLAINING its the cheapest option to install via the mirror tap.
This worked great and the length was good too. Ok first the protective black nylon type braid around the cord is loose so it will come out of the plastic jack end so if you are pulling on the cord itself yes it can damage the jack or cause the wires to come out of the jack. Not a big issue. I took some Gorilla glue pulled the black nylon braid covering back dabbed a bit of glue in there pushed the covering in and then a dab or 2 around the covering and the inside edge of the jack itself. This sealed the nylon braid and secured it in the jack, so no more movement. It worked perfectly so the black nylon braid stays intact and does not expose the wires. I didnt feel that deserved one less star, since it was something that I could fix plus the price was good too. I think that the braid being loose was good as well so that you could see if there was a problem in the jack once it was opened as opposed to after its installed and it doesn't work. Compared to other jacks that cost 2x-4x more for the same purpose whats to complain about even if you have to buy another one its still cheaper. As for the pins several people stated that they broke or bent them I had not issues as it didnt require brute force to insert these in. Common sense should tell you that its not going to withstand forcing it into a connector or applying a lot of pressure. I can neatly tuck the wire on top of my rear view mirror when my detector is not in use. It has the correct voltage, and included small black zip ties, so after inserting the pins I gave a little slack and zipped the cord to the connector so there is no pull on the cord when connecting and disconnecting. I would buy again especially when the name brands and radar sites sell these at ridiculous markups. I think its important to note that I am not using a mirror mount I am using the Magnet Mount that came with my Escort IX. setup is clean and no hanging wires. ... show more

  • Works Great, Be Sure to Secure Radar Detector Strongly So Cord Doesn't Get Torn Out!
Clean, convenient wiring harness install. A bit pricey but if you want the perfect solution without having to run a wire along the windshield to the fuse box, this is it and it's well made. ***Word of Advice: Be sure that your radar detector is thoroughly secured to your windshield - I had my radar detector mounted via its factory suction cups but I drove up to a ski resort and during the day while I was there, my car got much colder than it was in Denver and the suction cups failed, so the radar detector fell and tore this wiring harness out and ripped the cable apart. Apparently the inline fuses are one-directional and I could have tried to disassemble the cable and solder/tape everything back together but I just decided to use a 3M Command Strip to semi-permanently secure my radar detector to the windshield and then I bought another one of these harnesses once I knew the radar detector couldn't possibly fall down again. ... show more

  • They will help with any problems and that is some great service!!
I finally got the chance to install it and it's crap. I wires came out and there's no space to try to put them back in the little adapter to fix them. Only after 2 months of install so I wouldn't recommend it and I would not buy it again!!! •Update• So after I put this comment we had a couple emails to verify that I purchase from them and they were able to replace the cord for free this products is great looks good and they will work with you!! Update 4/2/18 This thing broke again! My radar wasn’t getting any power it it and I disassembled everithing to see what the problem was, I noticed the small needle like prong comming our the black house was broken! I love this product because I don’t have to have the original wire all in here and because I love to no be able to see wires but honestly I don’t know if I would buy again and just keep having to buy them often! What should I do? ... show more

  • Awesome value for money
Excellent quality and super easy to install on 2022 F-150 King Ranch. Red wire to black wire and black wire to green (grind) on mirror connector. Use small diameter pins supplied with adapter. 👍👍😊😊

  • the prongs used to tap into the power are very thin and can bend/snap easily. Not sure there's really any way around it
Works as promised although if the plug is really tight, the prongs used to tap into the power are very thin and can bend/snap easily. Not sure there's really any way around it. Also wish the wiring was one gauge thicker. The non-abradable sheath is a nice touch but needs to be secured to the jack. As it sits, every time you disconnect the jack from the radar detector, you're pulling on the wires themselves. I've not had a problem and they've not come loose but the potential is there. ... show more

  • Give a clean look to my Escort radar...bye, bye power cord!
Works perfectly and tapped directly into my headliner lighting unit, as opposed to the mirror. Installation is harder than described, unless you're an experienced car tech. I attempted to do the tap myself, but it's a bit challenging in an 2013 BMW M3. There's not much room, not wiring access to tap into, so I instead paid a car stereo installer to wire it up for $40. Well worth the money and you'll avoid all the frustration. Now my Escort looks clean and factory install, without the cigarette power cord running down my windshield. ... show more

  • Clean, easy installation for mirror mount
This worked really well. It took me 5 whole minutes to install and looks really clean. The pins inserted easily in the back of a multi-pin plug, although a friend had a bit of difficulty with his ground pin. His plug was a tighter fit than mine, but he got it to work, no problem. To me, this installation is worth the effort as it gets rid of wires hanging everywhere and isn't as complicated as running a wire around the windshield trim, behind the dash to the fuse block. ... show more
