The R36MAX is a great retro handheld console with a very nostalgic feel. It works smoothly, the screen looks great, and the games run very well. I’ve really enjoyed using it and it brings back a lot of childhood memories. The company was also helpful and responsive throughout the process. The screen quality is amazing and very clear. I bought this as one of the birthday gifts for my two little ones, and both my 4 year old and 6 year old play with it all the time. It’s very easy to use and they love it. There are so many games included, including classic games like Pokémon, Zelda, and Mortal Kombat. It’s been really fun seeing them enjoy games that we used to play as kids. Great mix of nostalgia and fun for the kids.

Solid build with many quality of life features like sped up gameplay. Insane amount of game choices with the majority that I wanted (mostly Pokémon and Nintendo triple a classics minus like donkey Kong 64 and a few others). My main question is: Does this emulator have the ability to trade inside Pokémon games? In classic Pokémon on Gameboy you could link the two consoles and battle or trade Pokémon with a friend. If I buy two of this emulator will I be able to pair them with a USB c to USB c cable via the bottom ports and engage in these features? 4 stars until I verify it can , 5 stars once I know I can . :)

Super disappointed with this. Ordered for Father’s Day and when trying to launch any game from the console an error code would come up. We tried rebooting it several times and cannot get any game to work.

I am debating as to whether I should return it. Some games (if you can find them) work well but others not so well. It is hard to determine the proper controls. Some will not work at all. There is no instructions as to which butttons will work for each game. I even had 2 games which when selected showed code rather then the game. So it is a hit and miss. Tetris worked well. One thing is that in order to go to a different game you have to do a reset.
