  • Great Brakes! Very Happy With Purchase!
Style: CEC.40093.02
These are amazing brake rotors and pads for the money. A great value! I was very impressed with the fit and quality of these pads and rotors. They were very easy to install using existing you tube videos. I have had them on a few weeks now and they are quiet and still very clean. I had installed some new rotors of another brand on my other car and after a few days they were already getting rusty. These rotors are still shiny and looking good! I have also not seen much brake dust on the wheels. When I got the oil changed recently, the mechanic was going around checking tire air pressure and commented how nice the brakes look and how uncommon it was to see such quality rotors (drilled and slotted) on a minivan! ... show more

  • Good Brakes
Style: CEC.62092.02
Pros: - Easy install - Moderate increase in stopping power - Competitive price Cons: - Minor increase in brake noise - Minor pulsing vibration sensed when braking In my preliminary research, some forums indicated the OEM rotor design was prone to warping, due to not being able to reject the residual heat build up during braking. So I decided to upgrade the rotors to the "performance" design using slotted/vented rotors, and have been happy with that decision so far (~3k miles). I replaced the OEM brakes and rotors on a 2011 Malibu with these, and braking performance has definitely improved. The new brakes have a pulsing sensation during deceleration, which I attribute to the slotted rotors, and it also makes slightly more noise than the previous smooth rotors. Neither of these "cons" bother me, but if you want a Cadillac-smooth feel, consider a different design. ... show more

  • Great product Aesthetics/Performance
Style: CEC.40061.02
Fast, accurate shipping...product is as advertised. Great quality and blemish-free. Rotors look absolutely awesome on the car. Performs better than stock OEM. 2008 Acura TL. Only improvement R1 needs to make : Either note that NO pad hardware comes with pad set or include them!!!***** 2+ months later... HUGE difference in stopping power, no fade, no noise, very little brake dust. The difference btw OEM and these is night and day. Prob 20-25ft shorter stopping from 70-0 mph. Very pleased! ... show more

  • Ceramic Pads are NOT for Everyone!
Style: CEC.40093.02
I purchased this product for my 2006 Honda Odyssey based on the positive reviews and good price. Overall, I am very pleased with the stopping power and the quality of the product. HOWEVER... Ceramic Pads have their place and are not for everyone. What Happened: On a family trip to North Carolina we visited Mt. Mitchell State Park with a peak of 6,684 feet. On the descent (with 7 passengers) the brakes worked exceptionally well 90% of the way down...Until they DIDN'T work at all! There was almost no warning or the gradual fade of regular organic or semi-metallic pads. I finished the last mile down by shifting the van into "L" and using the parking brake. I then pulled over on a side street and waited 20 minutes for them to cool down before I could continue. What I Learned: Overheated brakes cause the brake fluid to boil putting gas into your brake calipers. Gases squish under pressure and can't apply enough pressure to the rotors to stop the vehicle. Because the ceramic material of the pads gain and lose heat slowly, the brakes worked really well right up until the boiling point. Once they hit that point pushing or pumping the brakes just makes things worse as the pads continue to heat up with every press of the brake. Summation: I rated these this product with 4 stars. Most people will be very pleased with the quiet stopping power of these brakes. However, if your commute has extended steep descents where brake fade is a known issue, look elsewhere. -Robert ... show more

  • The loudest set of brakes I’ve ever put on a vehicle. Please read my review.
Style: Drilled Slotted Black Ceramic
So after having my brakes, professionally put on by Midas. And then three weeks later, having Midas recheck my brakes for the noise and squeaks. He checked the hardware and re-greased some of the brake parts. But that did not stop the squealing with every time I hit the brakes. I drive a 2019 Toyota tundra, limited beautiful truck. I guarantee you that anyone that has a Lexus or a Toyota sequoia would not put up with this type of noise. These brakes should not be advertised for these vehicles. Unless they say they are racing material brakes. I sent a message to R1. And this is the message I got back. Thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. To best avoid noise and dust you may want to switch over to a blank non performance set up. The rotors you went with are drilled and slotted and coated and more aggressive meaning the slots will cut into the brake pads to provide more stopping power - in turn you may experience dust and noise. The more aggressive the braking system is the possibilities of squeaking rise. Brembo has put out a video to explain why performance items make noise on aggressive performing set up if you wish to research the topic. If you feel this is a bigger issue i do suggest you take the vehicle to get inspected. We offer a one year warranty on warping and cracks but not squeak. Please contact us directly if you have any questions or concerns or you may feel free to reach out directly and ask for Carlos. ( it even says in their description the way it reads is the following.). Low Dust & Noise: Brake pads come with shims to eliminate noise. Low dust, asbestos free special ceramic formulation provides excellent fade resistance. Top choice for front and rear brake pads replacement. But I get a comment back like that. They should not put that they’re brake pads and laminate noise. That is actually one of the reasons I bought these. But now I think it’s absolutely sad that a company will not have a better thing to tell me then to go back to OME parts when the point I was trying to make when I bought these was to buy a performance brake for my vehicle for stopping. The truck is a little bit on the heavy side. But it should not make a difference. I got told basically that because I bought the slotted and drilled rotors that that was the cause of my squeaks. I disagree. I know other people that have bought other slot it and drill breaks from another company and have no problems whatsoever. Please read my review. I am not trying to persuade anyone from buying their equipment. But if their customer service can send me something saying that it’s my fault for basically picking their brakes for my vehicle. That I must deal with the squeaks. I mean, at least they could’ve tried to say here is some new hardware and a new type of grease that might work. No, I got told that they only warrant the brakes for warping and cracking. Buyer beware! After reaching out to me. To basically tell me, it was my fault for buying the brakes because I bought the more aggressive drilled and slotted rotors. Buyers beware. This company does not back up their products. I spoke in great lengths with someone on chat. And yet I have not heard back from anyone. Every time I drive my beautiful truck, my brakes squeal at me louder than they ever have. I have spent a lot of money with having my brakes put on professionally. And they still cannot figure out why they’re squealing. I was hoping to hear back with what may be some type of solution we were going to come up with? Or do I just bite the bullet spin $700 to listen to squeaky brakes the rest of my time driving my beautiful truck. I will change this review to the fact that if someone contact me back with some type of ideal of how to fix this. Either throw me some new hardware or something to quiet these breaks down. This is terrible customer service . ... show more
