  • This works, and I need to order some more for other rooms
I have an upstairs that runs too warm all summer. It's big room with one vent fed by at least a 15 foot run of 12" duct. I had been planning to sever the duct and install an inline duct fan up in the attic and either use an expensive pressure switch or tap into the thermostat wire with a relay, but this vent register booster is a much easier to install and less expensive solution - and it's working pretty well! Plugging it in is the only tricky part, but I was able to plug it in up in the attic so no cord is visible. I took my old vent register off and I probed around the edges with one of those wiring fishing rods until I found a gap where the rod could push up into the attic. Then I climbed up in the attic, plugged it into an outlet up there and then taped the end of the cord to the rod so I could pull it back down into the room. The AC register booster has a short 6 inch lead attached to it, and the rest of the wire connects to that. It's obviously heavier than a plain vent register, so it was bit difficult to install because I had to use both hands to hold the register up there and connect the wire and then reach for the screw and screwdriver to fasten it in place without letting go of anything. The thermostat measures the air in the duct so that you can set it a temperature below the normal room temperature, but above the temperature you're reading in the vent when the AC is on and it will turn the fans on only once the cold air starts coming through. Mine started off reading 68ºF in the duct, but after a while I checked it again and the reading was 66º, so I figure it's pulling the cool air through the duct faster and not allowing it to heat up in that long duct in the attic. I still need to replace my AC system, but I can tell that this room is noticeably more comfortable after installing this inexpensive solution first. ... show more

  • Works to cool the room for sure.
I have an upstairs bedroom with a north window that was always too hot. Even setting the HVAC system fan on "continuous/high" it was 79-80 degrees in late afternoon when the sun hit the window. Keeping our HVAC fan continuous/high, I experimented with the options on this unit. Having the fan on this booster set at max speed (5) did cool the room to 74-75 degrees on a hot sunny day. The cool setting worked as well and I could set the fan to the max speed, also. Note the small area for the thermostat so it doesn't block the vent much. This measures the temp IN THE VENT. I set it at 75 degrees so anything lower than that and the fan would operate. Higher that that it will shut off. This unit is 200CFM where the others are lower so that really helps move more air. The light can be turned off and the unit still works as set. It installs easily. It's a little noisy at speed 10, but it gets quieter when the fan is on lower settings. If on the "Cool" setting, the fan comes on and off automatically, but it soft starts and the noise gradually increases. ... show more

  • Works good. Came broke. Works good. Came broke.
Product came damaged but functions. Build quality is not great. As for the functionality the unit works good. There is a noticeable difference in room temp. We bypassed the temp range and went right for the direct fan speeds. Level 10 moved a lot of air, but is a bit noisy. Not horrible, probably half the noise of a box fan. Anything less that level 5 seems like a waste. The temp range works and I look forward to using it this winter to help with temperature differences in each room. ... show more

  • Not effective for me
I purchased this for my office which is farthest room in home. I installed it in July and it’s September. I have 9’ ceilings with ceiling vents (not floor). I was in between this and a portable a/c. The cost and size is what made me try this first. Pro: budget friendly. Not an eyesore when installed. I bought cord covers which again is budget friendly. Remote is small and easy to control from anywhere in the office (distance doesn’t seem to be an issue). Con: loud- took some time to get used to. No real difference in temperature or air flow of the room. The temperature of the room reads the same as before it was installed. I still have to use a floor fan to help try to cool down the room. Maybe this is a better fit for floor vents. I wondered if the ceiling height mattered since the fans inside the device aren’t that big. Most of the reviews with pictures I saw were on the floor. Unfortunately this won’t be staying installed here. I will try a portable air conditioner. ... show more

  • Smart, Quiet, and Backed by Outstanding Customer Service
Quick Summary This is a smart register booster fan designed to improve airflow from HVAC vents, and it truly works as advertised. The unit is compact, quiet, and easy to install, making it a practical solution for uneven room temperatures. Customer service was also exceptional—they guided me through adjusting the settings, and now my previously warm room is cool and comfortable. Pros * Quiet operation with adjustable fan speed (0–10 levels) * Smart temperature control with automatic on/off functionality * Includes remote control for convenience * Helps eliminate hot or cold spots in the home * Energy-efficient and cost-saving compared to other cooling options * Excellent and responsive customer support Cons * May require minor trial and error for optimal settings but customer service will take care of you Use Experience I installed this fan in a room that consistently ran warm, even with central AC running. Setup took just a few minutes, and the plug-and-play design made it very easy to get started. Once I fine-tuned the fan speed and temperature settings—with help from customer support—the room quickly became livable and stayed that way consistently. The remote makes it easy to adjust settings from across the room without disrupting comfort. ... show more

  • Love it! It works really well, but you need an outlet nearby
This thing is awesome! We have a vent in our addition that is the farthest from the furnace so it’s cold in the winter and hot in the summer. But this vent fan boosts what the hvac system is sending through the ducts and helps immensely! I love that the fan has 10 speeds. Crank it to 10 to really get the air moving, then lower it to 3 for a quieter experience. It needs to be plugged into the wall, so you’ll need a receptacle nearby. My vent is in the floor near an outlet so it’s not a problem, but you’ll need to know where you have power before deciding if this solar will work for you. ... show more

  • Not for Hot Weather Environments
I have the 6X10 inch fan. The product kind of works the way it's supposed to, but it just doesn't satisfy the demands in a hot weather climate. After reading the instructions 10 times to make sure I understood how to set the cool set point, I set it for 67. That's right in between my target room temp of 75 and the 59 degree AC air temp coming out of the vent. Theoretically, the fan should shut off when the air in the duct rises to 67. The problem is, aluminum holds its temp for a long time, so the temp in the duct never warms back up to 67 before the AC comes back on. And when it's 90-plus outside, the AC comes on again long before the air in the vent ever reaches the cool set point of 67. In other words, the fan is always on. At this point, I just turn it on manually to level 5 and leave it on that all night. I turn it off (to level 0) when I don't need it. But this is the weakest room in the house and the fan DOES keep it cooler when it's turned on. ... show more
