Works Like a Charm!

Waited over a week to make sure I liked it! What can I say? For background I’m in a very hot and humid climate during the summer and my upstairs bedroom is more similar to a jungle than to anything. But I can’t keep pumping my AC down; my basement is already equivalent to a kitchen walk in and my bank account can’t handle much more. So this vent was sort of a Hail Mary. It works exactly as I need it to. It’s not a miracle worker; but it’s darn good. It has lowered the temp of my room in comparison to the rest of upstairs which is exactly what I needed. It’s not quite as cool as my lower floors but it is making sleeping a lot easier. I’m able to use a blanket at night again thanks to this vent. It works very simply; setup took only a few minutes just had to unscrew the old vent and screw this one in, and made sure there’s a plug close enough. It can do both cooling and heating and I will be sure to try the heating in the winter as I have the same issue of my upstairs not conforming to the temp of the rest of the house. The fan is pretty quiet, I have it on a 7 but it goes up to 10, which I may need as we march towards a hot July. I’d say on 5 or lower it’s so quiet you barely notice, on 7+ you notice but it’s still about the same noise as a regular fan so no big deal for me. And it’s easy to adjust with the included remote. AND it looks nicer than a normal vent cover. Overall can’t recommend this enough, it’s been a huge help in my ability to sleep soundly and comfortably at night and actually be able to BE in my room on hot days.

Super effective and efficient!

We bought an old house (built in 1900) with central air added by previous owners during renovations. The second floor bedrooms stay warm in the winter, but it was hard to get the AC to sufficiently cool the upper floor bedrooms in the spring and summer. I got this to replace the bedroom floor vent, to push more cool air into the room from the existing central air duct and it works AMAZINGLY. It feels like we have a window unit in the room. The fans blow very effectively and the programming makes sure it’s not always running. You set the temperature threshold based on the air coming from the vent (not the room temp) and when it reaches that temp the fan kicks on. This works for cooling and heating depending on the season. In the summer I set it to 68F and if the air coming from the vent is below 68F the fan kicks on. In the winter I set it to 70F and as long as the heat coming from the duct is warmer than 70F the fan kicks on. Outside of those settings, the system does not kick on. Simple and easy to program, it’s definitely a game changer for us! Worth every penny! I would highly recommend this if you have less than efficient vents in a room.

A Game-Changer for Hot Spots!

I’ve struggled with hot spots in my house for a long time—even with the AC running constantly, some rooms just wouldn't cool down. I have to admit, I was initially skeptical. I wasn't sure if these fans would actually make a difference, how effective they would be at lowering the temperature, or how durable the motors would be over time. I decided to take the plunge and bought three units for my bedrooms and living room, and I am pleasantly surprised! Here is why I’m happy with my purchase: Effective Cooling: For the first time in a long time, the temperature in all three rooms has dropped noticeably. My house is finally cool enough to survive this heat wave. Quiet Operation: The fans are not loud at all; they sound like a standard household fan. Great Performance: I can finally feel the AC working in every room, which is exactly what I was hoping for. It works but it is not a miracle worker.
So it works and it works well, but many of the videos makes it seem like a miracle worker. It is not. It's good and I still use it. It does boost the AC/Heat coming from your central vents, but it won't miraculously take a 95 deg F attic office to 70 deg F, but it will take the humidity out of the air and cool it by a few more degrees than the vent alone. The mechanism fits well in the vents. It's easy to install. It has adjustable fan speeds, but the instructions are lacking and take a little to understand.

Easy set up, reliable temperature controls and operation, reasonable noise level

The register booster installed easy. I did read the manual but honestly it came ready to plug and play in two minutes. The on and off temps were easy to set and it has a feature to work in cold only (summer) or heat only (winter). It also has a speed adjustment which I like. The box is in our living room and although the 10 provides good airflow I find that the 5 setting still makes a difference but is quiet enough that it does not disturb our tv viewing. It fit perfectly in my vent and worked right out of the box. The thing with a register booster is that it does need to plug into the wall to operate so you have a cord that runs from the register to the baseboard and up to the socket. It's best if your register is near a wall that has a socket although it is low voltage so it's not like your extension cord needed to be a special guage.

I suspect the success rate with these has many variables: how big is the room? how tall are your ceilings? is the HVAC putting out cold enough air? is your duct work healthy to begin with? We have vaulted ceilings and for some reason this gadget made very little different in pulling the cold air out of the duct and into the room. It was a fail for us, and we ultimately returned the two that we purchased. High speed was quite noisy, and yes, you could feel cold air coming farther down if you stood right under it, but even when used in a small 10x10 bedroom it didn't make the overall room cooler at all. We tried moving fans around and recirculating it, but it just didn't make enough of a difference. Giving it three stars because technically it powered up and appeared to be well built, easy to use.

So far, so good!! The room we installed these in used to get incredibly hot during summer and we were so close to changing our whole AC system, until we gave these a shot. They cool the room down instantly and now it never gets hot like it used to! It's only loud if you turn up the fan speed quite a bit, but it doesn't bother us. It's kind of like gentle white noise. It fits perfectly and looks sleek. We are very happy with this purchase! Hoping it works well during winter and that the heat doesn't damage it over time.
