I would give this 5 stars. But ill get to why I’m giving it 4 stars later on. Galaga one of the arcade hits n the 80s. I used to play it a lot in the arcades. It was one of the games I played going to the arcade after school during my high school days. Now numskull has revived this 1/4 scale official arcade machine of Galaga . It looks just like the actual machine in every detail. Down to the wires. How much more real could it get. As soon as I got it I took it out of the box. The machine is quite big. Its height to my knee. The question is what can it do. I turn the machine on and all the systems come to life. The screen works just like the original arcade machine. It brings back memories . The coin door on the front lights up. The game play is just like in the arcade. So the reason why I’m giving this review 4 stars is because when I turned on the machine, the marquee on the top didn’t light up. Everything else functions as it should so I’m already satisfied with that. Despite it, I was still impressed . It’s amazing how numskull got the details right. But in the days, the fun was going to the arcades, and sticking a coin In the machine and playing. The arcade classics don’t get old no matter how many times you play it. I own all of these machines. They are wonderful and bring back so many good memories. However, all the machines are in desperate need of a screen upgrade. If you move even slightly to the left or right from center- the screen has a blue glare coming off of it. Many of the big timer reviewers mention this but they really play it down. However, this is a big deal. I own several devices with similar screen sizes that are perfect at all angles. The makers should really upgrade this screen immediately, even if the price goes up some. ... show more

This is an amazing 1/4 scale replica of the full sized Galaga arcade game. The level of detail is amazing on this. From the lighted marquee to the rubberized trim the build quality is excellent. Gameplay is exactly as the arcade cabinets of old...in 1/4 scale.

I really wanted to like this mini arcade cabinet being a long-time Galaga fan. First the positives: The game details are very nice - the graphics/decals, coin slots, control deck, even down to the vents on the back of the cabinet. The buttons have a nice feel to them and the joystick has a positive click response to it. Now the not so positive parts: Game performance is marginal at best. My unit not only had occasional sound glitches but would randomly bog down resulting in staggered on-screen motion. The fire button would also become less responsive during this time. Then, after a random period of time, the unit would return to normal. It was as though the processor and emulation software were lagging and could not keep up. This severely reduces game-play enjoyment - and considering the goal of this unit is to exactly emulate the original Galaga arcade game - should never happen. I reached out to Numskull Tech Support *twice* to see if they had a fix - no response. Returned. ... show more
