This is a great box. It sounds great. I have it paired with a 10 inch cerwin vega vmaxx.

  • Good quality, great sound

I normally build my own sealed boxes. I wanted something a little different this time, and wanted to go with ported 10" box. This box is a great mid range between heavy enough to be good, and not so heavy you are hauling around an extra 75# all the time. The fit and finish seem to be excellent. Although I did pull off the speakers hookup cup and put silicone sealant under it and resealed it. I'd say that cup is the weakest part of the box. I also used silicone when I installed my sub, just to have a good seal. The bedliner material is a little rough, and most gaskets may not seal well. I put a Rockford P3 in it, wired at 2 ohms, with a Zapco 800 watt amp. I have it in a 2016 Subaru Impreza. With this setup it will about blow the review mirror off the windshield. Sounds very good and hits very hard. I had to back off the gain on the amp quite a bit. Plenty of volume, and plenty of power, and very good sound quality. And my sub is brand new, I'm sure it will sound better after break in. ... show more

  • Best option for the size!
Style: Vented
Out of all the options for a 10 inch single subwoofer box on amazon I found this box to be the best. Most all others ported and sealed are somewhere around .8 cubic feet. This box is at 1.4 cubic feet and it makes all the difference. My previous box was a ported .8 cubic foot box and the size made the subwoofer have a too high frequency for bass. It was more like a buzzing rather than a boom, which was super annoying. I installed q power box and finally hit that low note I was after. With the .8 cubic foot box the higher frequency bass would over power the highs and mids. With the q power box I was able to turn the bass up and it would not over power the mids and highs yet still beat in you chest. I removed the sub and installed some pollyfill and got an even deeper, smoother bass note. Now my bass sounds like a symphony. I listen to all kinds of music including rap, rock, electronic. Each genre sounds great. Just a note for those trying to get that smooth bass I will try to explain in normal speak. With a sealed box you will get a louder bass rumble. With a ported box you will get that harder bass KICK but the rumble will slightly be less. From my experience the ported box is always better as it seams to be more accurate with the KICK and less resistance on the sub resulting in a more accurately timed bass hit. Running with a rockford fosgate p3d2 10inch and rockford 500 watt mono amp. Thumbs up if I helped. ... show more

  • 10" Rockville sub's will require enlarging the cutout.
Style: Vented
This is a long review that covers the 10" & 12" version as well as the Rockville subs I've put in the boxes and has some very specific things for Jeep Wrangler owners & some info on 10",12",13" Android head units (H.U.) I'll even add a video because getting solid bass production in a Jeep Wrangler can be a real pain, requires a lot more effort to get 75% of the bass from the same set up if it was installed in a car. Also I'll add more specific info and clean up this 1st draft of my review. I'm going top post it w/o proof reading or edits so if something sounds weird or off in some way, I'll fix it when I add pic's and a video. I'll add pics once the install is complete & I put the F. bumper & winch, 42" led light bar (on the hood), 16" led lightbar (on the F. bumper hoop) & #2-3" led pods to help out the weak back up lights, #4-3" rock lights (they go in the wheel wells) and a bunch of other stuff that I bought all at once. Jeep owners, we all know what JEEP stands for, right? Just Empty Every Pocket *** box will need to be modified to fit 10" Rockville W10K9D2 v2 or V3****** or 12" (for 12"version) Both times I've had this box 10" & 12" I had to enlarge the opening to accommodate the sub. The 10" W10K9D2 V2 or V3 require a 9.37" cut out. I don't recall the cut out on the 12" version, but the solution was the same for both sizes. I used a digital caliper and set it to about 8mm/5/16" and used the pointy part of the caliper to make a decent scribe into the bedliner coating. Then used a good ole Skil saw set to smooth cut to cut off just a bit of the box & then it fits like a champ. (You will only be able to use the 3 or 4 bar grill or possible one of the Kicker grilles because there isn't enough room at the top & bottom for a circular ole school mesh grill cover to fit. 10" Android H.U. ***** 95% of Android head units will require a DSP amp AKA Digital Signal to power dash speakers properly and will increase the V's to the amp for your sub. I learned the hard way. My old ATOTO Android H.U. had plenty of power but the newer/larger units lack the RMS needed to power your dash/door speaks or all you will hear is your sub. Processor, otherwise, you would prefer listening to a 1970's 8 track player over your brand new 10 or 12" Android H.U. dash cam, back up cam, OEM upgraded Kicker 77KICK10 6.5"s in the sound bar, "JBL GTO609C 270 Watts 6-1/2" Premium Car Audio Component Stereo Speaker System with Patented Plus One Woofer-Cone Technology" in the dash & factory dash tweeter pods Taramps TS 400x4 with Automatic High-Level Input 400 watts RMS 4 Channels Full Range Car Audio Amplifier RCA Input Class D 2 Bridged Channels Multichannel" ($80) the Taramps is 73W RMS @ 4ohms & the kickers & the JBL components handle 75W RMS. I hope it will work the way I imagine it will. and a generic Epicenter, (increases voltage to amp = more power & has subwoofer specific tuning far better than what most amps come with) For @35, I figured what the heck if it does what it's supposed to, great & if not it was only $35 Soundxtreme ST-AP5 Digital Bass Control Machine Bass Maximizer and Bass Restoration Processor with Epicenter Reconstruction Bass Knob Dash Mount Remote Control -2nd Gen (35 vs $120+ for name brand) **** For Jeep wrangler JK (most likely TJ & JL owners too) there's enough room behind the glove box to fit 2 of these Tramps, amps behind the glove box with no trouble at all, just avoid the 2 silver metal pipes!!!! They are hot, like burnt my hand while test fitting different places. Best way is to remove the glove box & sit it where the bottom of the glove box would be when it's closed. There's a cavity there that will allow you to install it there with easy access to all the terminals & cross over stuff. I had this box a while ago in the 12" version, " Q Power QBOMB12VL Single 12" Vented Ported Car Subwoofer Sub Box Enclosure QBOMB" ($81.87) Fitted with a "Rockville W12K9D2 V2" ($140 now, 4 years ago I paid $118) Powered by a "Rockville RXD-M1 2000 Watt/1000w RMS Mono Class D 1 Ohm Amplifier Car Audio Amp"($130) Installed in a Jeep Liberty (factory Harmon Kardo?? speakers & amp, whatever they sold as the premium stereo. ( Didn't need to buy an amp for the 4 6.5's or the 2 3.5" dash speakers, all the stock speakers were upgraded to the OEM Kicker 6.5's & 3.5" It was a sub $400 set up at the time and people would always ask if I was running either 2- 15"'s or 4 12"'s and they had a hard time believing me until I opened the back gate up & that's when jaws hit the ground. I beat the living daylights out of the amp & sub and never had any issues (never went into protect mode) Forget about your mirrors shaking, this set up made my (and others) eyes shake so hard that it was impossible to read street names. No exaggerating! I would have to turn the bass knob below half way in order to read street signs, addresses... and with the bass knob turned all the way down & the head unit at 20% people in fast food drive thru lanes would yell at me pretty often. I would wind up the windows, get out & put a quarter on the roof and play any Eminem or similar, just to see how high I could make the quarter bounce. The best was easily over 4". Now that I'm driving a 2012 Jeep JK Sport there just isn't enough room for a 12" sub that I would be happy with, so I am in the process of duplicating the set up but in the 10" variety. I know it's not going to be anywhere near the bump I had in my Jeep Liberty 12" vs 10" airtight Liberty vs Jeep JK, almost open air & often open air (nothing for the Bass notes to bounce off of) & this box only fits 1 of 3 ways #1-remove back seat (not happening) #2 sideways sub facing up. #3 Box sitting vertically, will sound better than #2 but it's about 6" taller than the lowest point of the rear window making it a very attractive target for thieves, so that's a no go either. I've only tested it a couple of times (still breaking in the sub) with it facing up with the top down and my Mazda RX-8 with factory BOSE speakers (no sub) and it has better bass. I'm going to create a 4th option by attaching a 2x4 frame to the box and have it down firing, hopefully with better results. This 10" Qbomb box with, "Rockville W10K9D2 V3 10" K9 3200w Peak/800w RMS Car Subwoofer DVC 2-Ohm Sub, Black" Powered by a "Rockville RVA-M3 4000w Peak/1000w CEA RMS @ 1 Ohm Amplifier Mono Car Amp+Remote" ($120) ... show more

  • Good box but tuned high (~40Hz) Good box but tuned high (~40Hz)
Style: Vented
This box is great in almost every respect. It’s compact, tough, looks good, and well made. The speaker wire terminal cup has a gasket of sorts to help seal it off against air leaks, but I ended up making doubly sure it was sealed by removing it and applying some silicone underneath. Everything else about the box is solid, no shortcuts or cheapening out detected in its materials or construction. The one complaint I have about this box, and it’s really more of an issue with the lack of detail in the product listing, is the box’s relatively high tuning frequency of ~ 40Hz. The port length is too short to allow a lower resonate frequency, so the resulting butter zone for this box is somewhat higher than I would have liked. The result being sub output closer to what I would expect from a sealed enclosure in terms of frequency. I have a JL Audio 10W3v4 sub, and it fit into the cutout hole without any modifications to the box, but the 39-40Hz resonate frequency this box provides leaves much of what the sub can do on the table. I can put that sub in a smaller sealed enclosure and get the same results, although it would require more power to go that route. This is a good box for specific applications, but mine is not one of those unfortunately. I like the box and will be using it for a different sub and in a different car, but for my main sub in my car, I will be going back to the previous ported enclosure I had been using due to its lower tuned frequency (~32-34Hz). ... show more

  • What a difference!!!
Style: Vented
I purchased a JBL Stadium 102SSI for my 2010 Cadillac DTS to replace the stock 10in free air subwoofer. I was very disappointed in the sound. (The 102SSI is rated to be used in a free air set up) I decided to shop around for a box that would bring out the sound I knew it was capable of producing. I already have two Alpine R series 12’s in my trunk that’s why I wanted to use the 10 in the stock location in the first place. Anyway, I decided to buy this box and I can tell you that it was the best decision I’ve made. It’s good looking and the crisp sound it delivers is amazing for the price of the setup. I highly recommend it and will be buying two more for my other vehicle. Make sure to check the recommended size of the enclosure for your particular sub. This one is 1.4 cu ft. ... show more

This quality box is awesome and fits my recommended airspace. Do not buy from hifi electronics. They sold me one that was not as advertised and used. This box is extremely well built . I even painted it to match my car.

  • Tuned at 33-35 hrtz not 39!!!!
Style: Vented
This box quality is awesome provides deep bass perfect for listeners of hip hop like myself, on reviews listed their is multiple people saying this box is tuned at 39 hrtz that’s false. It is tuned between 33-35. My only complaint is that the delivery person didn’t put it underneath my carport when it was obviously raining and wet underneath my door and the box that it was shipped in was basically soaking and ripped apart. Luckily this box has that protective coating!!! Perfect box for beginners or anyone that wants great quality sound and deep bass at a budget price! ... show more
