20 lbs--nice 'n heavy! Splits 9-10" dry wood easily. Solid, well balanced. I do not recommend trying to split knotty wood as it may overtax the design. It is just simply not made for that. Otherwise, I LIKE IT!!!

This wood splitter is a heavy-duty one that is designed to make splitting kindling easy and safe. It is made of a single piece of cast iron, which makes it very sturdy and durable. A couple of years ago, I got interested in smoking meat using the traditional offset smoker. Now I can easily split my Pecans so it would easily fit. I had to buy a small sledgehammer heavy enough. I thought this came with one based on one of the product pictures. Pros: Heavy-duty and durable Safe to use Sharp blade Easy to use Portable Cons: Can be difficult to split very large or knotty pieces of kindling Overall rating: 4 out of 5 stars I would recommend the Qinfly Kindling Splitter to anyone looking for a safe and easy way to split kindling. We got a tree cut down and had tons... tons of wood. I tried to get the largest size and this helped me cut about 80% of the wood. The rest of the stumps are too large, but that's not a problem. This did everything it was supposed and I like how there are holds to mount this somewhere so it can be stationary. I'll probably mount it next time I need to use it. GREAT product.

I'll start off this review by saying that I have an actual Kindling Cracker. After getting this, even though the real thing has better quality, I don't think I'd pay more for it. This does what you would expect it to do. I split up some kindling for a fire and I was pleased with how well it split. The diameter seems fine for most logs and I think the height of it will be ok as well. I'm deducting one star for two reasons. First is the build quality. While I think it will last quite some time the base was not cast/machined flat so it wobbles a little bit. Thats not a huge deal. The other issue is that whatever they coated it with wasn't dry when they put it in the box and the box stuck to it peeling off the coating. In fact the coating was so skimpy that the ride here from China wore of a lot of of the coating. I full expect this thing to be incredibly rusty after just sitting in the humidity for a few days.
