I am an Uber and Lyft driver, and I was looking for a digital compass for my car. I drive graveyard shift and its easy to get disoriented between North South East and West. For me $40 is a lot, and I did not see any other car vehicle digital compasses (except rear view mirror compasses which I did not want to hassle with installing. I went ahead and bought this and I am HAPPY. As far as mounting location, I did not want this thing to fry in the sunlight on my dash. So, I found this perfect spot (see photo)....Its absolutely perfect. You can adjust your steering wheel column on any car if you cannot see clearly your instrument panel. This baby is a permanent fixture on my car. I dont want it to hog my cigarette lighter recepticle because I use it for my phone charger, so I bought a 2 to 1 splitter socket temporarily until I have my car stereo guy hard wire this in. You have several different screen configurations to choose from. I dont have time to tell you them all, but certainly the configuration in my photo is best---speed and compass. you can easlily reach around the back and take a look at your battery voltage if you want. The other screens like braking distance, go ask a fanatic with time on his hands. I only need speed and compass. About accuracy. Up to 50 mph, perfect. Freeway speed, it shows 2-3 mph faster... but I dont complain. I know I need to set cruise control at 78. Very Nice. I give it a BUY recommendation. Mount it with strong heavy duty double sided Scotch tape, not velcro because its wobbly and looks unprofessional. ... show more

Works really well for what I wanted it for: primarily for the compass feature. My new to me vehicle doesn't display the direction and I'm directionally challenged, especially after dark. The MPH feature works well enough and is accurate to about 40-45 mph. After that the faster you go the further off it gets. At 70 mph it says I'm actually going 73 mph. Not a big deal, but it could be if you go much faster. And it'll give me the same time and direction when I first start my vehicle and the time and direction doesn't update until I've been moving for a minute or two, again, not a huge deal, but I'll give this 4 stars for these reasons. Works well. Stupid easy to install and set up. Cord is 7' 10" long therefore easily stretches to wherever you want To place it. The unit itself is small which is nice, But the information is displayed and large bright characters. Easy to see even in blazing sunlight. Clear and colorful actually better than the photographs. Response to changes in speed etc quickly. I bought it for use as a compass. It displays the 8 principal compass directions; N NE, S, SW etc. Does not displayed degrees, Or if it does I have not figured that out yet. It responds to changes in directions more quickly and better than my old $60 magnetic compass. No adjustments are necessary to compensate for the magnetic mass of your car. It works on satellites, Not magnets. Just remember that the car must be moving to display direction. I really like it. Comes with a round sticky pad for mounting. SATISFIED ... show more

This is a fine little item but could use some tweaks to make it even more user-friendly. I bought it primarily for the compass feature but you cannot select this option to be the MAIN (= largest font) information on the display. This is very inconvenient because the only option is for the direction to be displayed in TINY print at the lower left or right corners of the display where it's very hard to read. It helps a lot to change the font color to a lighter hue (aqua, white, lime green), but this is still far from ideal. As far as accuracy: the compass direction is spot-on as long as you have enough satellite data. I changed the default setting for the speedometer to NOT add on 3 miles, but now the gadget's speedometer reading doesn't equal my vehicle's reading, so I'll have to mess with that some more. The overall display is VERY small, so do pay attention to the product description (see my photos above for scale in a 2015 Subaru Forester). The gadget is VERY lightweight and the included power cord is VERY long and heavy, so if you use the included power cord without carefully securing the cord to something else in your vehicle, you can expect the gadget to do an erratic interpretive dance all over your vehicle whenever you change lanes, etc. I am fairly happy with this, but I wish that the overall display was larger and that you could select the desired data to be the LARGEST in the display. UPDATE on 02/25/23: I still love this thing and use it all the time. It helped tremendously to add a Velcro strip to the underside of the gadget and a corresponding strip to my dash so that the display is always in the perfect spot and at the perfect angle to easily see it, but the gadget can still be easily removed and stored away when not needed. ... show more

I had high hopes for this HUD speedometer. It works fantastic for local driving around town, as well as most highway driving as long as you stay under 70 MPH. Wait, what? Yeah, anything over 70 and the MPH (GPS) display changes from whatever color you have it set at to RED. Probably satisfactory for night time driving, but totally unreadable during the day especially when the sun is bright and right in front of you. So you think you can change the settings? No dice. Here is the reply I got back from Pyle: "We apologize this unit doesn't have the option to change the color for "MPH number" The color for MPH will automatically change which means you need to reduce the speed." Save yourself the headache and hassle and look elsewhere. I am considering an Android phone solution. ... show more
