Works really well for what I wanted it for: primarily for the compass feature. My new to me vehicle doesn't display the direction and I'm directionally challenged, especially after dark. The MPH feature works well enough and is accurate to about 40-45 mph. After that the faster you go the further off it gets. At 70 mph it says I'm actually going 73 mph. Not a big deal, but it could be if you go much faster. And it'll give me the same time and direction when I first start my vehicle and the time and direction doesn't update until I've been moving for a minute or two, again, not a huge deal, but I'll give this 4 stars for these reasons. I bought this mainly for compass but all features is nice. I have had several other HUD units thru out years OBll connected and that is old school..So a GPS is what i wanted! Price was good, reviews very good and brand is at top line. I read directions, no adjustments needed, for my unit..MPh. I plugged in and unit fired up when car started and shut off when car was shut down. I have pluggedinto AUX 12 volt outlet and my car shuts down all AUX power when key off, yours may not..then you will have to program unit to power of timer. So I took a ride and unit performed spot on. Now unit read 2 mph faster than my electronic speedo...I read reviews about this and knew why. The GPS is more accurate than the modern speedo and way more than the mechanical speedo. The DOT SPECS for US cars and trucks is that the speedo can not report a reading less than the displayed MPH..But can display speed no greater than 10% of actual speed..Really!! But anyhow this is a great unit.. Gps reading is more accurate..😉 ... show more

This is a fine little item but could use some tweaks to make it even more user-friendly. I bought it primarily for the compass feature but you cannot select this option to be the MAIN (= largest font) information on the display. This is very inconvenient because the only option is for the direction to be displayed in TINY print at the lower left or right corners of the display where it's very hard to read. It helps a lot to change the font color to a lighter hue (aqua, white, lime green), but this is still far from ideal. As far as accuracy: the compass direction is spot-on as long as you have enough satellite data. I changed the default setting for the speedometer to NOT add on 3 miles, but now the gadget's speedometer reading doesn't equal my vehicle's reading, so I'll have to mess with that some more. The overall display is VERY small, so do pay attention to the product description (see my photos above for scale in a 2015 Subaru Forester). The gadget is VERY lightweight and the included power cord is VERY long and heavy, so if you use the included power cord without carefully securing the cord to something else in your vehicle, you can expect the gadget to do an erratic interpretive dance all over your vehicle whenever you change lanes, etc. I am fairly happy with this, but I wish that the overall display was larger and that you could select the desired data to be the LARGEST in the display. UPDATE on 02/25/23: I still love this thing and use it all the time. It helped tremendously to add a Velcro strip to the underside of the gadget and a corresponding strip to my dash so that the display is always in the perfect spot and at the perfect angle to easily see it, but the gadget can still be easily removed and stored away when not needed. ... show more

First one, the screen was pure white 60-70% of the time I turned it on, requested a replacement unit and second one same white screen 90% of the time… they are cheap and don’t work!

As some others have mentioned, the failure rate seems a bit high. My first unit was faulty; it would power on but never acquire satellite (even after being on for an hour in open sky). Second unit works find and acquires satellite decently quick. Let's talk power cable though. It uses a USB mini-B connector, but is 12v (9-24v tolerant). The DC plug to USB mini-B is just straight passthrough, so the 12v from your car is directly to the USB connector. Never use this plug for a normal USB device. If you want to wire this into your car you'll need to snip the DC plug off. It would be much better if it used a barrel connector which is more common for this voltage range and typically have loose leads you can use. Also, mini-B can be fragile and have weak retention. Pros: Screen is bright and clear Additional info in the bottom corner is a nice touch Shape is small and unobtrusive Reusable sticky pad works quite well Cons: Power cable situation is a big problem Flaky durability / DOA Trip lost on power loss, not a problem for me but would be nice to have ... show more
