Thoughtfully designed and great quality. Drainage system prevents everything underneath from getting wet as long as the louvers are closed. We are very happy we chose Purple Leaf. Took about 5-6 hours to fully assemble.

Construction was easy enough, definitely need 2-3 people to construct safely. But really no that bad, total construction time was about 3 hours. Very pleased with the quality.

I'm one of this people who research everything to the nth degree before a purchase. In my search for the perfect pergola, I found they varies in price greatly. You can spend $1500 to well over $15K. I decided on this particular brand because they had a lot of reviews and they responded to presale inquiries in a timely manner. Since I live in Southern California, I didn't have to worry hurricanes or snow load Delivery - This package came in 5 boxes and was delivered in 2 days. There was no damage to the boxes, but there were a few bent pieces that didn't really bother me. Installation - I'm not particularly handy, but this took me and one other person about 6 hours to install. The instructions were not great, but it's fairly obvious is you're doing something wrong. Quality - this thing feels very solid and the louvers are all quite nice to open and close. The 11'x14' unit I purchased does not come with curtains, and Purple Leaf will not sell you accessories after the fact, but this was generally easy to work around. Caveats - There is no easy way to hang lights on the pergola without drilling,and nothing sticky will stay stuck very long, we ended up using zip ties to make things work. Lastly, this pergola is not waterproof. The middle beam is two pieces and during the last rain storm, water was leaking out of the seam like it was a rain gutter. This was disappointing as we thought we'd have respite from the rain under this pergola. We have tightened the screws, filled the seams with loctite, and wrapped it with water proof gorilla tape. Hopefully this fixes the issue, we won't know until the next rain comes, which could be awhile in Southern California. Overall for the price, the unit looks really good, is very solidly constructed and with after market rails and curtains we are pretty satisfied with the purchase. Minus 1 star for having the middle beam act as a rain gutter without being water proof.

This pergola will give us the much needed shade for our back patio. It arrived sooner than expected. It was missing four pieces, so the seller was notified immediately. The four pieces were shipped to us promptly. The pergola is very attractive and the customer service was very good. Have only had it assembled for a week but, so far, very happy we bought it.

We ordered this pergola as a surprise gift. We paid someone to come install it. Unfortunately all of the parts were not included in the initial packaging. We contacted them and the parts were sent promptly. The surprise was delayed but the pergola is amazing. We love the functions of the pergola. It is a sturdy product and held up to very strong winds without damage. Highly recommend

The item was shipped promptly and arrived in good condition. You definitely need at least one other person to help with the construction of this item. A couple steps in the instructions were not explained or illustrated well, so when it came time to put the end caps on the corners we had bolts that were protruding out and not allowing the caps to slide in place. That was easily fixed but annoying to deal with. Where this product lost points was its ability to keep the elements off us. The first rain that was more than just drizzle showed that this thing leaked at every seam in the top supports Either the gutter system can't keep up with a typical rain shower, or the gaps in the craftsmanship of the pergola simply allow water to penetrate through. Either way this isn't what I expected, especially with this price tag. The issue is that the middle support as well as the two longer supports are two pieces each, so that middle connection point is weaker and therefore allows water to come through. PurpleLeaf doesn't claim that this pergola is waterproof, but I would have expected it to stand up to a standard rain storm

After reviewing several other like products we went with PURPLE LEAF Louvered Pergola 12' x 20' Outdoor Aluminum Pergola with Adjustable Roof for Deck Backyard Garden Grey. When you first get all the boxes it seems overwhelming but it was easy to assembly and put up. Glad we purchased this item.

Pergola boxes ( 6 of them ! ) arrived complete and in fairly good shape, a few louvers and trim pieces were slightly bent, but nothing I couldn't straighten out. Assembly instructions were clear and everything inside each box was WELL protected with plastic wrap and film. ( there were even a couple extra of each of the assembly hardware, which was super helpful when you drop one through the deck slats !) Took my wife an I about 3 hours to assemble, fit and finish of everything was well thought out. (one of the bars that connect all the louvers together was installed backwards, but was easy enough to remove and flip over, again, not a deal breaker). All said, if you want a sturdy, easy to assemble aluminum pergola, you can't go wrong with the Purple Leaf design. Now I have to order one for my mom. I'll be contacting them again soon.
