  • Excellent design and quality product
Size: 10' x 14' Color: Gray
These comments are for the 10x14 gazebo. I agree with the majority of comments from other five-star reviews. The gazebo arrived in five boxes, ranging in weight from 37 to 114 pounds. The heaviest box was the smallest, containing the steel roof panel sections. The packaging was very robust, with extra-thick cardboard plus reinforcements where needed. The roof panel box was damaged slightly by FedEx during transit, but the robust packaging prevented damage to any panels. With over 1000 individual pieces, assembly takes some time. In our case, we installed it on our deck that is elevated six feet above ground level, and with only seven feet clearance from deck to soffit, so this presented a few additional challenges, but the assembly process is such that no ground-based ladders were needed. The gazebo is very well designed and is obviously manufactured with tight tolerances to ensure quality. The pieces fit together very well; however, it's important that the base legs and frame be plumb and square so that subsequent pieces fit well. Because we assembled the gazebo to be adjacent to the sliding doors exiting our house, we appreciate the built-in gutters. The gutters are not extremely deep, but they seem to work well with light and moderate rainfall rates; a heavy rainfall rate will result in overflow. We bolted the gazebo to our deck, using 2x4 sleepers between the deck joists to provide a secure anchor. We've had some strong winds since, and the gazebo was very stationary, with no rattles or movement that we could detect. Mostly, we need sun shade, and the gazebo screens don't provide much shade, so we removed them. The solid curtains work well, and are made of heavy fabric that should stand up to the weather for years. The dark gray color has a relatively high emissivity, so solar absorption and re-radiation of infrared to the inside of the gazebo will occur. The vent near the top, between the two roofs, will allow for convective release of warm air to help cool the inside, especially if all the solid curtains are in use. Overall, I think this is a very good product, one that I can recommend. We look forward to finally being able to use and enjoy our deck! ... show more

  • Great product and worth the expense, but be patient
Size: 10' x 14' Color: Gray
ORDER AND DELIVERY: I got the 10x14 and it came in 6 boxes. 5 of the 6 boxes were delivered less than 48 hours after I placed my order and the last box was delivered three days after that. BOXES AND LABELING: Boxes are clearly labeled 1/6, 2/6, 6/6 and etc. However, the boxes are not packaged and numbered according to in what order you need to use each piece. For instance, the first or second set of parts you need to assemble may be in box 4/6. It would have been helpful if each box were labeled with which part letters were in the box. I found myself spending some time digging thru the boxes to find the part letter that I needed. ASSEMBLY AND TIME: The more people you have to help with assembly the better. I would absolutely say that two people are a minimum. It took 18 hours to assemble. An instruction/assembly booklet did come with the product and it was packaged in box 3/6. I would not advise jumping ahead while going through the steps because it will make some parts not fit the way they are supposed to later. Two free standing ladders aren't a must, but I highly recommend it and it would be very difficult without two. The product only came with allen wrench/hex key, but a drill made all of the difference given the fact that there are over 400 screws. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. ADVICE: 1. DO NOT completely tighten all of the screws as you work through the steps. We found that alot of screws we had completely tightened needed to be loosened to make other parts fit later. 2. In addition, the instructions call for the cap on the topper to be placed early on. However, when it was time to put the metal on the topper, the cap had to be removed before the metal would slide into the track. 3. If your are having trouble getting the metal to fit/slide into the tracks or the screw holes won't line up, it may be because the frame isn't 100% level or square (even if you think it is). Although you may be tempted, DO NOT cut the metal to make it fit. It isnt fitting and the holes arent lining up for a reason. BIGGEST PAINS: 1. The rubber stoppers that you have to install under the metal. There are alot of them and they slide. 2. The plastic guards that have to attach to the ends of the metal. There are also alot of them and they constantly pop off when trying to get the metal to slide in the track(s). OTHER: Although there are three holes per post, the product does not come with bolts/screws to anchor the gazebo to a deck or etc. It would have also been nice to have some sort of covering for the bottom of the corner posts to make it look smooth. Therefore, the bolts/screws that you use to anchor the gazebo are completely exposed because there is no cover for the bottom of the corner posts. *Note: when buying something to anchor with, DO NOT get soft metal lag screws, they will snap off at the head. Instead, get a high quality heavy metal. REGRET: Wish I would have gotten a bigger one. OVERALL: Yes, assembly took ALOT of time and effort, but I am extremely pleased with this product. It is of great quality for the expense. It is steardy and looks nice. I would buy this again and will recommend. While installing, be patient, do not rush and the outcome will be great. ... show more

  • A Sturdy and Stylish Backyard Retreat
Size: 10' x 14' Color: Gray
The PURPLE LEAF 10' X 14' Permanent Hardtop Gazebo has completely transformed our backyard. The installation process was surprisingly straightforward, thanks to the clear and concise instructions. While it took my wife and I about 12 hours to complete, the end result was well worth the effort. The gazebo itself is incredibly sturdy and well-built. It provides ample shade and protection from the elements, making it the perfect spot to relax, entertain guests, or enjoy a meal outdoors. We've had several pool parties since installing the gazebo, and our guests have consistently raved about how much they enjoy the shaded area. The customer support from PURPLE LEAF was also excellent. We had a couple of minor questions during the installation process, and the team was quick to respond via Amazon messaging. Their helpful advice made the installation even smoother. Overall, we're extremely satisfied with our purchase. The PURPLE LEAF 10' X 14' Permanent Hardtop Gazebo is a high-quality product that has significantly enhanced our outdoor living space. ... show more

  • Solid Product & Great Design – But Bring a Team and Power Tools! Solid Product & Great Design – But Bring a Team and Power Tools!
Size: 12' x 16' Color: Gray
I recently purchased the Purple Leaf 12x16 Gazebo for my patio, and after getting it fully assembled and anchored, I am very happy with the final result. However, there are a few things I wish I had known before I started the process. Shipping and Packaging: The product arrived in six different boxes. I was impressed with the weight and the sturdiness of the materials, but the logistics of unboxing were a bit frustrating. There is no external "parts list" per box, so you end up having to open every single one just to find what you need. A "heads-up" list for each box would have been great to prevent losing small parts while searching through all the boxes. Tools: The kit comes with two L-keys (Allen wrenches). Do yourself a favor and use power tools. There are over 200 bolts in this unit; trying to tighten them all by hand would take a lifetime. Further, you must get an 8-10 ft ladder. Manpower: You will need a team. It took three of us to get this properly assembled. The manual doesn't explicitly state this, but don't try to go it alone. Roof Panels: This was the trickiest part. Bolting these in requires multiple sets of hands and patience. Manual: The printed instructions are clear, but there is a lot of "back and forth" flipping. I really wish there was a PDF version available to view on a tablet for easier navigation. Labeling Improvement: While the instructions are clear, I wish the physical parts had directional arrows or "This Side Up" labels. It would save a lot of confusion and prevent having to take things apart and flip them during assembly. Quality & Performance: For an $1,800 item, I expected a high level of design, and Purple Leaf delivered there. Durability: We anchored ours into the patio, and it has already withstood 35 kph winds with no issues. Drainage: The rain drainage system works effectively, keeping the area underneath dry. Aesthetics: The color and design are fantastic—it looks premium and has significantly upgraded our outdoor space. Final Verdict: It’s a high-quality, beautiful gazebo that feels like it will last a long time. Just be prepared for a serious assembly project and make sure you have a few friends and some power tools ready to go! ... show more

  • Intuitive Assembly and Nice Product Intuitive Assembly and Nice Product
Size: 12' x 24' Color: Gray
Purchased 12' x 24' which arrived promptly in 7 boxes. Purple Leaf reached out to me to confirm everything was undamaged and in order, which was nice. The assembly took 2 days and instructions were easy to follow. I did this assembly mainly by myself but needed my husband to hold up about 20 lbs of the top frame for 10 minutes in order to get it square and level while I screwed in and tightened the sides. A cordless screwdriver with hex/Allen bit makes everything go a lot faster, but the pieces are designed to shore up and strengthen each other, and they only fit the correct way, so I wasn't having to take pieces apart because I had them backwards, as I've had to do many times with other, some-assembly-required furniture manufacturers who will remain nameless. The finished product is extremely sturdy and lovely. It's tall enough to fit my 6'7" husband without bumping his head, and we had 15 people under it this weekend for dinner with plenty of seating room. Advice for assemblers would be to assemble with plenty of natural light, as it's difficult to align panel holes in the dark, have several comfortable step stools and ladders handy, as I'm 5'3", and it was tiring to get on and off of them to move and adjust them all the time, especially near the end when you're already tired and putting on roof panels, and be gentle with those roof panels, as they bend easily until they're fully bolted in place and won't align to one another if they're warped, albeit it's easy to bend them back with some pliers and/or a rubber mallet. Lastly, it feels super flimsy until you have everything assembled and fastened, but I believe this is purposeful, as each panel/piece is light enough for one woman of average strength and assembly savvy to assemble 99% of it, so, there you go. Great product, and would buy again. Note, we do not live where snow and/or tornadoes/hurricanes factored into our decision to purchase, and we were not paid for this review; it was not incentivized, so I just hope it's helpful for shoppers. ... show more

  • Definitely buy from PurpleLeaf! Definitely buy from PurpleLeaf!
Size: 10' x 12' Color: Gray
We got our 10x12 foot grey gazebo up last week and it fits our deck perfectly. If you have a tight space, the measurements provided are spot on. Each of the 4 boxes comes with everything numbered and labeled which made it much easier to build. I suggest laying all the parts out in your garage or driveway before beginning, to make sure it's all there and to more easily grab the pieces you need. We found the instructions to be very clear and easy to follow, and my husband and I got this up in about a day and a half. It really wasn't nearly as bad to build as we'd expected. It feels really solid and all the parts/pieces fit well without really any adjusting. We were even able to lean a ladder on it to finish the last few panels with no movement at all. So far we've had one rain this week and it's kept things nice and dry, no leaks. The screens and curtains are both very thick and good quality. Even just using the screens blocks a good amount of sun and heat! I also love that you can zip a curtain to a screen and do half and half coverage! Now the part that impressed me the most. The company had contact with us via Amazon messages the entire time. They sent tracking numbers for all 4 boxes, and asked us to confirm we received everything in tact and undamaged. They kept up with us as we did our build, basically just being available in case we ran into any issues along the way. I don't think I've ever had that good of customer care for anything I've ever purchased! I had been looking at less expensive gazebos but felt nervous about quality and customer service, so I'm 100% glad we went with PurpleLeaf instead. You won't be disappointed! We get decent snow in NE Ohio, so I will try and update this after we've had a big snow this winter, but I expect it to hold up great and have no worries at all! Thanks PurpleLeaf! ... show more

  • 12x20 Gazebo on a Composite Floating Deck 12x20 Gazebo on a Composite Floating Deck
Size: 12' x 20' Color: Gray
I hired a couple of experienced handymen to install this on my self-built composite floating deck because honestly it intimidated me a bit. The install took a total of around 12 hours over two days: three hours for the frame and 9 for the rest (roof frame, roof, rails and fabric bits). The installer feedback was that the instructions were very IKEA-like, in that they are very generalized and you have to figure out what they are referring to a lot. Quite a few steps require you to wonder why they didn't have you do things together, but have faith: Purple Leaf knows what they are doing. Overall the build quality is stunning. It is a beautiful gazebo and the fabric parts are very thick with sturdy, heavy duty zippers. The size is great but I would up getting my own lag screws for attaching it to my deck. It does come with some shorter lag screws and a lot of concrete anchors I didn't use. One thing I did appreciate was how Purple Leaf organizes the hardware. It comes in a little clear toolbox! So awesome of them not to give you a hundred little bags and tell you to figure it out. I also want to call out that even though I ordered on Amazon and even though it took me two solid months to get to installing the gazebo, Purple Leaf continued to reach out to ask if I had any issues. That is the customer service I paid for and it made me feel very good about my purchase. Thankfully I didn't need them, but if I had I know they would have helped immediately. ... show more

  • Excellent product , well packaged for delivery.
Size: 10' x 14' Color: Gray
Great product, well packaged and organized. While some damage to boxes, the heavy roof panel one, found no real issues with any parts. Easy to assemble, good instructions, and video can help. I took four days of no rush effort, about 4 hours a day, When it states not to tighten, believe it. Had to go back and loosen some screws. Needed help with standing up post and while connecting some cross members. Putting up roof supports is definitely a need for another persons help. Others wise I was able to handle a lot by myself. I do feel I have some abilities at assembly. I highly recommend this 10 x 14 hard top gazebo. Very happy. ... show more
