We recently purchased this pergola in hopes that it would solve our sun/wind issues on our patio. We tried a 11 foot patio umbrella in the past and it moved around quite a bit due to wind. We were looking for something that would provide sun blocking and that would hold up in the wind as well and figured we would give this option a try. The product arrived quickly and was not damaged during shipping. The instructions were easy to follow and assembly went smoothly with 2 people. There were a couple of holes that were not drilled in the right place, but was easily corrected. The frame of the product is a lightweight, greyish colored aluminum and is sturdy when assembled. We ordered the grey canopy option and the color is very nice with the frame. We attached the pergola to our cement patio and so far, it has been great! The retractable cover is easy to use and locks into place when the canopy is open. We will add curtains or shades on the sides to help with some of the sun block due to the way the sun moves across our patio, but sun block from the canopy top is great. I had to reach out to customer service for one issue we had, but they followed up promptly and were able to take care of this matter quickly and properly. We are happy with our new addition and hope that it provides us with years of sun protection.

I am beyond impressed with this product - from the design, to the assembly process, to the customer service! Here are the key points: - It looks great! It's lightweight, but sturdy, with a wonderful finish on the aluminum and great quality canvas on the shade. Also, I was so happy to see that they don't use stickers that leave a residue on the product when you peel them off! BONUS POINTS! - It goes together easily! My husband and I were able to assemble it in less than 2 hours! Now, that being said, I'm one of those weirdos that enjoys assembling furniture in the dim light, with a glass of wine and some calming instrumentals on a Saturday night. It brings me calm when most people would be cursing everyone that thinks that Ikea is something other than a torture superstore. - The customer service was great! As said in a few other reviews - I received an incorrect piece, contacted the seller, and had a new one at my door before the week was through. They were prompt, helpful and communicative. - The only challenge we had during the whole process was getting the seal on the upright posts onto both the upper and lower sections in order to screw the support in. Not a huge deal though - just took a little more patience and elbow grease (luckily we had a fresh can ready). Honestly, I'm glad the seal fits that tightly! Just be prepared for a little annoyance and fingertip pain when you get to that part. THE BEST ADVICE I CAN GIVE YOU FOR ASSEMBLY: Don't tighten the screws on each step until all of them are in. I had no issues getting them aligned, didn't have to route out any holes to make them fit, I just got them all in place before I cranked down on the wrench. The parts are very well engineered, labeled consistently and come with very clear instructions. TL;DR: If you are looking for a pergola, this one is great quality at a great price.

I think this is a solid value for the cost. The quality of the posts could always be improved - but for the price you can't beat it. The opening and closing of the shade works decently well. I did upgrade the concrete screws and didn't use the ones provided with the kit though. The bases seem to be very solid. Overall: very impressed. You will ABSOLUTELY need more than 2 people for assembly though!

Price and value was great. Instructions state 2 people 3 hours, well it took 2 people 5 hours. Not too difficult to build and everything labeled well. A few instructions were vague, but easy to work through. Once built great value for shade and some privacy. The ability to open the top and close easily is great. Not sure how long it will last, but looks like a solution for at least 2 years.

Being aluminum I was anticipating it being a little bit more shaky than it is, but once it's mounted to the concrete it's actually a very sturdy structure (assuming you take the canopy down in high winds). Looks really good and seller is awesome (part came damaged but they quickly replaced it and were very responsive). Highly recommend for the price!

I ordered this a while back but finally found help to build it. It was good having two people but i think you could figure it out solo. There is one part of the system i wasn't able to connect because the predrilled holes didn't line up. I was able to move on as it is not an essential part of the project but still a bummer i cant attach it. There was also a step in the direction that said to use the above broken piece. 2 of the 4 of mine were broken but if i even was to use it the holes never would have lined up. so i ended up moving forward without them and hope it doesn't cause problems down the road. Overall, i would NOT recommend this product. I think you could find something that is better designed for home assembly and heavier weight.

I purchased the 12' x 16' version. Delivery was easy and it came in 2 large boxes. The directions note that you will need 2 people - we had 6 there and all of us were busy! I would suggest at least 4 people. The structure is sturdy and looks great. Some of the holes for hardware were not exactly lined up and we needed to drill-out/widen some of them. We had a large thunderstorm with high winds the day after we put it up - it didn't move at all. But we were sure to secure the shade in the closed position. Overall it is a great product and we look forward to using it for a long time! My only complaint is that the price dropped by $119.00 shortly after we purchased it. :(
