I was fortunate to be able to "test" sit at a Purple store near me, if able to try out for yourself first before buying, I would reccomend you do so. I was initially wanting to buy the Royal one, but after sitting on one in the store, it was not near as soft for my needs. I sat on this Double one and it was perfect. I have a fused back, with three vertebrae fused at my lower back with 6 screws and plates, I had bought a brand new Ashley Furniture brand office chair that seemed comfortable enough when I tried it out at the store, but for sitting for 7 hours plus a day, ended up being very uncomfortable and required frequent getting up and moving around. Rather than return the chair and invest in a super padded, very expensive Big N Tall one that would likely work for me, I thought I would try this option first. I am happy to report it made a night and day difference for my repaired back and I can comfortably sit all day in my office chair, and my back and rear end are extremely thankful for my purchase of this cushion. It is pretty heavy, but this is to be expected for a dual thickness Cushion, it is not overpowering but it does have some heft, and would likely be a bit of a nuisance if you wanted to carry this around for different seating situations, but is doable. It did have some smell upon opening as others have commented on, but it was minor and not overpowering. I just put it in my bathroom and opened the window for 24 hours. It fits snugly in the cover, I have mine smaller honeycomb side up (part you sit on) , and larger side down on the chair (as suggested). It does move around a bit on my office chair as some have also made note of. I will try some grip tape and see if that makes any difference. I am very happy with this Cushion so far, it fits the bill for my needs, and is very comfortable, it does compress quite a bit while on it, so the double thickness is not a issue for me as far as raising me up on the chair, I am 6'2 and over 200 pounds for reference, someone smaller and lighter may experience a bit of a lift in the chair while sitting on it. **Exceeded my expectations, as a side note the same Cushion in the actual Purple store cost $50 more than here on Amazon, and salesman said they would not match online prices even though this Cushion ships direct from the actual Manufacturer, so try on in store if possible, then buy here on Amazon to save $$.** ... show more

    • Most Comfortable Chair Seat Ever

I've had plenty of office chairs and seat cushions throughout my life, and this by far is the best one I've had. I had a previous seat cushion from a medical chair that I was in for a bit that lasted over 15 years, and I can easily say that this seat cushion is more comfortable than that. Easy to put the cover on and fits perfectly in my WFH seat. My only complaint is that it can slide up from the back of the chair depending on if I switch positions how I'm sitting (cross legged, legs up, etc. etc.), but that's an easy fix and not that big of a deal. ... show more

I have a Maxnomic racer style gaming chair. I never liked it but didn't mind because I didn't use it too much until WFH was an everyday thing. I spent months trying to figure out why it was causing me so much pain. i realized that I needed more cushion and height in my seat. I tried a bunch of the typical u-shape kidney shaped seat cushions and those do not work for gaming chairs. I tried this as a last resort because it looked intriguing and got alot of great reviews. I needed something that was pretty wide to fit the seat of the chair. Most of the other pillow were too small. It was either this Double version or the Ultimate. After watching reviews and research, I settled for this. The Ultimate was pretty huge and it looked like it may be too firm. I also felt with the Double I would have two options for the price of one. I could pick which one I like in one shot. Also I was thinking I may want to go firm some days and softer other days. My thoughts: - It's expensive!! But is it worth it? Well for me, I tried EVERYTHING Amazon had to offer and nothing worked. So given this actually resolved pain I was experiencing, it is worth the price so I can work in my racer chair for 8+ hours a day. - It does have some chemical smell but it's not strong. You could wash it but I didn't. I think when it was delivered, it was a very hot day. So it was pretty warm when I opened it and in that situation there is a smell. But I've been using it for 2 weeks and I don't smell anything. - It does come with a very NICE sleeve. I like this alot. Premium feel and well made with a soft fabric side to sit on and a grippy bottom side. - It can be "shaped" or be deformed to fit the contour of your seat. For my chair, I have to tuck the corners under parts of the chair to have it fit well. No issues. It also fits best long-wise, along the rectangular section of my seat, if that makes sense. You don't want the longer part of the cushion to span the width of the seat, have it span the length - While I thought I would go for the softer side first.. after several days of trying things out, I actually preferred the firmer side. Both sides are comfortable but the firmer side felt better for me. I've been using it for 2 weeks, some days 8+ hours straight sitting on it. While I wouldn't say it made my chair the most comfortable chair, it did make it comfortable enough for me. I don't have any heat problems. I think it does get warm but it's no warmer than usual if you sat in a chair for a long time. I do feel you need to get off of it one every few hours to let it reset itself. After sitting on it for long hours it's not as comfortable as when you first sit on it. It's still comfortable but for some reason the first time I sit on it at the start of the day is when it feels great! In any case it's worth a try if you've tried everything else. Whether it's worth the price, it depends how much pain relief is worth to you. Cheers! ... show more
