Have had this fireplace since September 2022 and used it daily all winter long. This little thing puts out some good heat! I recently renovated our living room and built a fireplace bump out and built-ins. I went off the measurements listed on Amazon for my rough opening for the fireplace. I made the bump out 9” from the existing wall to have enough clearance for the fireplace. I also had an additional dedicated 15amp outlet installed for this fireplace. The only downside was the remote control didn’t come with a battery… so had to go buy one. ... show more

I truly love this fireplace. Real looking and gives a cozy feel. I added a piece of wood at the bottom to lift it and it fits perfectly into my odd-shaped mantle. Great find!

Before ordering this, I very carefully measured our fireplace opening. The opening size was 34 1/4" wide by 21 1/8" tall at the closest points. This insert is supposed to fit into a 21" tall opening. When I installed it, it got wedged in and I couldn't quite get the bottom flush with the opening. The closest I could get it left about a 1/4" gap at the bottom edges. I should note that there is a mortar line in our fireplace at the exact location that the bottom of the insert is resting. So, I think the fireplace opening should be at least 21 1/4" tall or maybe a little better for a perfect fit. I am afraid to try to remove the insert, so I cannot provide the actual insert height dimension. I should note that the small gap at the bottom of both sides is barely noticeable, so I'm still happy. On the plus side, the insert looks great and has one of the best displays I've ever seen in an electric fireplace! We love it! It also arrived earlier than the estimated arrival date, by almost a week. I am an experienced electrician, so I installed a GFCI protected outlet into the back of our fireplace to plug it into. ... show more

It's hard to take a good picture of it without the flames looking brighter or muddier and than they do in real life, but it's a good looking electric fireplace insert! The product photos do it better justice, but I wanted to show how I have it set up with a few accessories. The thing I really wanted to focus on was the great customer service from PuraFlame. When I first got this I noticed that the heating function had a noticeable rattling fan noise. I looked at the reviews and most said that the unit was very quiet, but a few said that it was loud. I contacted the company to see if the issue could be fixed, and they sent me a new blower and I had it in about a week. I replaced it today and it's working great and very quiet. I was so glad to find out that the unit can be serviced. Thanks David! I had a hard time picking an insert that would fit my fireplace. I wasn't sure if I needed to shop for a perfect fit, or if I should get a unit that I can add wide trim to, or what. Here's what worked for me. I found a unit that fit great side-to-side. The unit was a little too short, but I propped it up an inch and a half by laying down a couple of 2x4s that I had painted black. You could do the same thing with bricks. ... show more

First of all I was told it would arrive in roughly 2 weeks. To my surprise it arrived in 5 days! I originally had a gas unit but went to this electric unit and I am completely happy with it. I don't use it as a main heat source because of the large open floor plan that I have, but I imagine it could warm up a smaller room pretty good. The sounds are pretty realistic and overall is very warm feeling. Very good fireplace for the money! ... show more
