Very nice insert.....make sure you use the plastic clear reflector for the flames look. Warms our room nicely & it looks real. Great crackling sound & it fits perfect in our fireplace. I've been looking for awhile for a realistic one & I love it.

We have a 36" x 36" fireplace that we don't use much because it's honestly just too much work. We just wanted something cozy that looked as close to real as possible and puts out some heat. This definitely fits the bill. It looks great in our living room. I keep the fireplace mesh curtains closed and makes it look a little more real. The attached screen really makes the flames stand out and I love the different color options. It's very sturdy and super easy to set up. Took me 5 minutes max. I will say that you should not have anything plugged into the same outlet while using the heat option. Popped our breaker once, so we learned our lesson! My 2 complaints are that I wish it put out more heat than it does (although it does put heat) and the "crackle" sound is very egg in a frying pan-ish as my husband calls it lol. If you turn down the volume to 3 it sounds a lot better. Overall, I love it and would definitely recommend!

The media could not be loaded. So I just received this today easy setup put the back on plug it in it's beautiful the Flames are amazing with the lights out you cannot see the plastic piece behind the logs will the light on you can see it though I think it's something I'll get used to colors are amazing I was able to plug it in and hide the cord as I do not have a hidden Outlet but it works the heater seems pretty powerful but again just got it today I'm very happy with my purchase so far the reviews that were written before me were very very helpful so I thought I owed it to new customers to write a review of my own which I do not typically do oh yeah I'm the crackling is awesome though my dog does not like it so we may be keeping that on number one it goes up to five I'm going to enjoy this this winter and the great part is if I want a real fire it's easy peasy to just take out and remove and then put back in so to all those thinking about getting one I say go for it and enjoy it!

The media could not be loaded. We have a chalet in the mountains we use as a vacation rental home. I has a working fireplace but not all guests like the smell or the mess created with a fireplace. We operated a propane fireplace, which is clean, but guests struggled when the pilot light snuffed out. But the last straw was in having to refill two 100lb propane cylinders four times throughout the winter. That was a lot of effort and expense. After much research on electric fireplaces, we purchased the PuraFlame freestanding electric fireplace. Here are a number of points I think readers should know about this fireplace: 1. Freestanding - By purchasing this freestanding fireplace, I didn't have to fuss with sizing and measuring for a more typical electric insert. This simply sits in my fireplace so installation is incredibly simple. 2. Flame Screen - What I have learned is that photos and video makes the flame screen more visible than it is in actuality. And that's a good thing. The flame screen is a giveaway that this is an electric fireplace and can otherwise detract from the ambiance. But I'm here to tell you it was less bothersome in the room itself. Note: Conditions may matter. If you have a lot of backlighting throwing light into the front of your fireplace, you may notice it more. 3. Controls - In a rental situations, no doubt my remote will go missing at some point. It is nice that controls are provided directly on the unit on the right side. 4. LED Display - The remote communicates with the fireplace set and there is an LED display to show you what settings are selected. Pressing a button repeatedly toggles through the options. When you have the desired settings, the LED display will turn off automatically. It is a positive as seeing a digital display would be annoying and detract from the ambiance. 5. Installation - Easy peasy. You simply attach the flame screen with the two thumb screws. Install AAA batteries into the remote. Plug in the power cord. Turn on with the remote. 6. Power Cord - If I wanted to be OCD about things, I could route the power cord through the hole that was left from my gas line, and plug it in, but I was too lazy to get out the pipe wrench. Even though I have an existing glass door, I was able to route the power cord under it, and wrap it around the side to the outlet. I have a basket of dog toys that conceals the cord. 7. Logs - This particular set (Model: EF511A) has a look and log placement that is quite nice. That's all a matter of personal taste, but it is something that I was pleased with and adds to the realism. 8. Overall Experience - It's a safe option providing no mess, or the inconvenience of running out of wood or fuel. No annoyances such as trouble lighting. The flame is realistic on the flame screen with a beautiful glow with flame flickers in the resin logs. Even the sound of fire crackling (best at a lower volume setting) is authentic, and it provides supplemental room heating. Future rental homes will have electric fireplace sets. They have come a long way and there are lots of options.

Realistic Flames! Several color options for the fire and for the flames. Sturdy and solid. No smell! Options for sounds also. Best part is the timer! You don’t have to remember to shut it off! Heats my small townhome with helps with the heating bills! Worth every penny!
