My hair is thick but very fine, and it gets oily near the roots and a little dry near the ends. If you are sensitive to smell, it has a very strong tea tree oil and mint smell to it that can be a bit hard to get used to. But overall it doesn't irritate my scalp in the slightest.     • Good shampoo for oily hair
This shampoo is supposed to be for a dry flaky scalp, but I don't find it moisturizing at all. I ordered it for my son but ended up using it myself because he didn't like the scent. It's quite a strong herbal scent but I like it and it works well with my oily scalp. It lathers well and rinses clean, but it does seem to leave my long hair dry, so I use a good leave in conditioner. ... show more

I was using black castor oil shampoo for thinning hair. It was ok but it tended to get oily quickly, especially at the scalp, which makes the thinning more noticeable. So I wanted to give this one a try. I’m glad that I did. It doesn’t weigh the hair down with oils on the top at all. Hair is looking fluffier, but not dried out either. The thinning is way less noticeable now. I use a conditioning rinse but even when I don’t sometimes, the long hair has a lot of nice moisture and manageability and it forms into very pleasant and defined natural curls at the ends, just from this shampoo alone. This shampoo made a nice later and the smell was ok. My scalp itch was a little better but I only used it twice because my hair looked like dried out straw.
