    • One works great, two not so much.
I recently purchased a new sump pump and backup pump system for my 35 year old sump well. I bought two of these pump stands because my last pump failed due to clogging from silt and algae build up in the bottom of the well. Outside of the well, they fit both the primary and backup Wayne pumps perfectly. But inside the well, using a yin yang layout, I wasn't able to position the pumps, tie in all the piping, and set the backup float such that everything was below the max water line. My well is not deep enough nor wide enough to accommodate both. What I really needed was a full well standoff (a large molded plastic circle with holes), about half as high as this pump stand, which would allow me to position my pumps where ever they needed to be, but not touching the bottom of the well, and fit properly without being constrained by the molded pump stand. But no one makes that... I even though about using just one stand, but for which pump? The primary should be lifted as it's the one that will do most of the work, but the backup is the one pump you need to have the most confidence in. I ended up returning both stands. My last pump ran for 15 years before the build up cut its life, so it's on me to clean out the sump well with my wet/dry vac every other year to keep the pumps operating properly. If my well had been slightly wider and slightly deeper, I'd be using stands on both pumps. ... show more

I am using this stand for my stand by sump pump in the crock. The stand offers just enough height so primary and stand by submersible sump pumps are not running simultaneously. I secured the stand by sump pump with one zip tie to the stand to ensure it stays in place and the pump does not vibrate off the stand now that the crock is sealed given my radon system. There is nothing like this for the price, but it floats! Granted I should drain and bail the whole tank before putting in the new sump and this new stand, but like a normal lazy person I just wanted to install in the wet sump pit. The plastic stand, less than half the main competitor mind you, FLOATS. You can try and turn it up-side-down and shake it underwater to get most of the bubbles to drift out, but it's still buoyant. Trying to hang down a sump it with a 50lb pump while holding down the floating stand and line everything up was a nightmare. But hey, $15 for a stand. ... show more

Made well and my zoeller n53 fit perfect , strapped pump to the stand and i put the pump to work. Not made for larger motors but those usualy have more feet length and hieght to keep off the bottom any way.
