Honestly I can't believe I can afford this now. Thermal scopes have always been in the $10,000+ range, and now this is 1/4th of the cost. It's still quite an investment, but it seems to be pretty good quality, and full of features. There are 2 cons. 1. It's sort of heavy. Not dramatically heavier than most regular scopes, but with all the electronics it is going to weigh you down a little more. 2. The rangefinder isn't great. You have to select it, and spin the turret to match the size of the animal, and refer to a size chart on the side. It takes forever to spin if your target is closer than 800 yards. I'm a little upset that so many of these expensive thermal scopes don't have a laser range finder. Those are the only complaints I have, and they aren't even that bad. It's easy to use, easy to sight in, and easy to find those hogs before they can even smell me. I can only hope they continue to improve the technology, and reduce the price further. I believe this is THE BEST upgrade for any hunter, or self defense enthusiast. ... show more

While certainly a pricey item, you simply cannot get better than this thermal scope in todays market for this price point. The clarity/image quality, ease of adjustment, battery life, form factor, light weight, and flexibility to night and day operations is on par or above the professional level military kit and 1/10th the cost. ... show more

For the price $3k. Its a great scope. Battery life and field of view are limited. 2 batteries, internal and external. Should last all night. If you have an extra external you will have no issue or plug in high cap battery. The high base mag 4x xm38 limits the field of view but can shoot very far. Ther thermal contrast makes target easy to pick up. Design is excellent. Remember on thermals and digital every time you zoom it doubles. 4x to 8x to 16x.everytime it doubles reduction is cut in half. The picture in picture feature allows you to have big screen on 4x, small picture on 8 x or more. Love this feature. Will never buy another thermal without it. I will keep this until pulsar comes out with a 640 scope with 3x base magnification or more. The xm38 and xm50 are capable for long shots. Ive kind coyotes out past 300yds a few times. Ideal for open farm land or semi arid areas. Wore wooded areas id recommend a base mag under 2 and/ or a 640 scope. With the firmware update this scopes image approaches 640 scopes in quite. Bought this scope and right out of the box the 25-30 Pixels were defective. I used the defective pixel tool feature on the scope and just by charging my rifle (mounted on an AR) again 25-30 pixels died. Fixed all pixels again, same thing after firing the weapon. See all the little white dots in the pictures I posted. I understand that there a few bad apples when making products but Pulsars customer service was less than helpful with resolving the issue. Borderline rude and showed zero concern will helping fix the situation except to tell me to send my $4500 brand new scope in with no timeframe for repair/replacement. ... show more
