I have never worn one of these before but the pain in my wrist has gotten bad,so I thought I'd give it a try and I am glad I did. This has 3 straps that velcro,so you can control how tight or loose you want it,and it has a cushioned center that helps to keep your hand comfortable. I wear this alot and it has helped to keep my wrist stable so I don't get that sharp shooting pain. The only complaint I have is with the center beads,I feel they put too many in there so it makes it heavy feeling,but it's not so bad that it stops me from wearing it. The brace worked great till I washed the item, then the Velcro straps stopped holding and were worthless
