Everything about this is a win! This donut was easy to blow up (just like a pool float), but make sure that you follow the recommendation and only fill it up about 75-80%. I have a small Shihtzu that was neutered and he had a hernia repaired exactly a week ago, and he has had this donut on almost around the clock ever since. This donut has prevented him from chewing or licking his incisions and after a day or so, he didn’t even notice the donut there. It is secure with the thick band of velcro and I have not had to re-inflate it one time since blowing it up initially. My pup has slept through the night and has not tried to shake off or pull out of his donut. In fact, he uses this donut as a pillow because it is so comfortable for him. If you have a dog that will have stitches, I definitely recommend this product. The vet told me that the cone they sent him home with would be fine, but my dog was trying to get out of that nonstop, so I am thankful I already had this donut waiting to swap out. Easy instructions. Blow up 80%, close and put on doggy. This has been so much better than the cone he was wearing before. He's able to eat and drink with this. Does what I need it to do/good performance. Can't lick and risk reopening sutures. I think he likes the extra cushion while he heals. Easy to take off. You can slide collar through for easy stability. Medium fits perfectly. (No idea on measurements, but 13lb shihpoo) Great price too. Seems like it will last. ... show more

I ordered the large for my old pup. She has an 18 inch neck and it fits just right. I originally bought a cone for her and she tore it off within a day. This product has been so much better than the cone! It’s way more comfortable and less bothersome for her. I purchased it so that she wouldn’t be able to scratch her face, and for the most part so has not been able to reach the area. She can rest or run around freely without an issue. The donut device is fine if my dog doesn't want to lay down and is light weight. The inflation valve is in a horrible spot. It has to go on the underside or her chin gets bumped by the valve if placed on top where visible. If on the underside it hits her paws and she cannot get comfortable. My dog is 6 pounds so she is tiny. This is still slightly better than a heavy cone that is heavy resting on her shoulders. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. My 9lb Malshi was neutered yesterday; traumatic for us both. I knew beforehand that I wanted a soft collar and brought it with me, size small, on the day of surgery. It doesn't hinder or bother him at all. He treats it like a favorite pillow and can eat, play and sleep without any hindrances. What a welcomed relief for us both. Update: Much ado about nothing on my part. We made it to removal day, 11 days later, and to him it was no big deal to be released from it. That's how comfortable this was for him. As suggested, I did insert a dog collar, also purchased on Amazon, to keep the collar from being squeezed off. Really, no need because he seemed nonphased by having it on. I really appreciated that it didn't deflate the whole time. His recovery with the cone was a major concern for me. Purchase this and it will be one less thing to think about. ... show more
