These worked beautifully as an affordable replacement for 4 of our ceiling lights. They replaced a number of brass/glass flush mounts typical of the 90s era. I purchased 4 to keep the look cohesive and I am pleased with the look and cost. I do wish you could find larger drums, but these were about as large as I could find at a fair price. As other reviewers have mentioned the frosted glass panel is tremendously delicate. The design could use some rethinking when it comes to the material that was selected for the defuser. Ideally, a frosted acrylic would serve as a less fragile alternative. Despite my many words of caution to my husband regarding the glass - one of the defusers shattered under the pressure of the nut that holds it in place. I'm hoping a replacement is available through amazon, as the light isn't nearly as attractive when the sockets are exposed. Otherwise the light is a straightforward install. ... show more

Overall, I’m very satisfied. High quality fixture, very well packaged, nicer looking than expected. Details: 1. Completely useless diagram — no written directions at all. It’s fairly intuitive to assemble the parts if you like puzzles, but I can see some people not succeeding. (By comparison, IKEA also doesn’t provide written directions, but at least gives you step by step visuals. Not so here: just an ‘exploded’ and unlabeled parts schematic.) 2. High quality packaging. Glass diffuser protected with styrofoam. 3. Shade is an off-white linen color. Maybe a bit darker than in photos. Yes, there is a small seam, just as in any other lamp shade. 4. IMO the fixture would be nicer if the shade was an inch or two taller. I have similar but slightly taller shades on other similar fixtures — which I prefer — but the price was right for this fixture, so I can’t complain. Bought two for my mud room. ... show more

Beautiful light for a good price. Easy to install with little electrical knowledge. Only issue is that the 2 pieces that hold the light bulbs are too close to the center post and each other. I had to bend them with pliers to be able to install the light bulbs.

I searched everywhere for a semi-flush mount ceiling light fixture, went to all the big box retail stores - all the flush mount fixtures were standard and dated, went to local lighting stores - they were all expensive, so I turned to Amazon. They had so many options, but I settled on Progress Lighting P3712-09 Inspire. So glad I did. I was a little uneasy buying lighting fixtures from Amazon, until I realized the many retailers carry the Progress brand so I was not worried about the electrical quality. The light fixtures looks exactly as it does online. We bought two fixtures. One when in a rather large room, 13'X14' (pictured) and one in a much smaller room. The fixture in the smaller room seems a more appropriate size. In the larger room the fixture does feel smaller, but that was my choice. I believe they offer a larger size which if I could do it again, I would get. Overall, quality was great, they arrived undamaged and they were easy to install. I would definitely recommend these. They are a great alternative to the half globe and it seems easy to switch out the bulbs. ... show more

Let me just start by saying I love this light! It looks fantastic. However, when I went to change the lightbulb, I broke the glass. I contacted the manufacturer and they gave me directions to replace it. Thought someone else might also have this problem. Contact either Home Depot or Lowes pro desk or special order desk Let them know you need a replacement glass #93072793 Progress Lighting The replacement was only $8 so I am so glad to have this info! Replaced a tacky hallway chandelier with this. I like the simple lines ane white shade. There were some problems getting the bottom diffuser piece to fit properly in the shade, but cannot tell unless you look that it is not perfect. That is why it got only 4 stars.
