Ive bought many different miniature paint lines over the years. Polly S, Ral Partha to more modern lines like GW, Army Painter, Vallejo, Meng and ak interactive. Ive always been open to try new paints. I purchased this set at a great price. At the current list price its 1.87 per bottle. Cheaper than most alternatives on the market. Throw in the kolinsky brush and it makes this an even better value. Volume per bottle is 20ml. Each bottle is a dropper bottle with somewhat easy to remove nozzles so you can drop a stainless steel ball in each bottle. Helps with mixing the paint. The set comes with a good color mix, ruby red, dark blue, bright yellow, green, black, pure white and a silver and gold metallic. Also includes variations of colors like a dark green, hot orange, beige, copper skin, viper skin, beastly tan, fortress gray and ironclad Gray, The colors are vibrant, the red is rich, as is the yellow. Paint consistency is thick, not runny, so you can thin if its needed. So far I've had no problem painting with them. They dry a nice even matte finish. I recommend giving this set a try. I love the red and blue in particular. Great set for painters both new and established.

Working with acrylic paint is new to me, so my review is based on my learning curve. In general, brand name paints are expensive and with this collection of assorted colors and the price, it is a good value for the money. Positive points: the amount of paint in each bottle is 20ml instead of the usual 16ml. I've used them in an airbrush with both a .2 & .3 nozzle with no problems. They do require thinning and airbrush thinner or water work well. Instructions state 70 to 90% alcohol but have not tried it yet since the results are good with the stated thinning agents. Coverage is consistent, even coats are easy to achieve. The paint brush included in the kit was unexpected and I've been using it for small details exclusively. All the colors that are needed for most projects are present, 3 are gloss finishes and the rest are matt finishes. Now the negative: The box info states that the paints have a 3-year shelf life. No batch number or date is printed on the bottles or on the box. My question is 3-years from what date? The package was stored in a flat position and the tints in each bottle separated on the sides of each bottle. Inside each bottle there is a ball that aids in mixture of the product. It took about 5 minutes of vigorous shaking to get the paints to mix properly. Some of the paints are thin and others are on the thick side, inconsistent is a good description. The missing manufacturing date information is why this product receives 4 out of 5 stars.

Once you get past the awkward photoshops used in the promo materials and the AI space marine on the front of the bottles, you get to some pretty decent paint. I did a test comparing three paints. I tried to keep these colors as close to the same as I could, and I think you'll see from the pics I got it pretty right. Side by side, from left to right, are: Leftmost: Army Painter "Flag Red" Middle: Lenbicki "Ruby Red" Right: DecoArt Americana "True Red" As you can see, the blob and swipes I made are virtually identical for the Lenbicki and Army Painter. The texture of each was indistinguishable right out of the bottle. For all intents and purposes, so far as I can tell, these Lenbicki paints *are* Army Painter paints. Any discrepancies you see in consistency are, by my own admission here, human error. My hand wavered a bit when applying the Lenbicki's as opposed to the Army Painter. I think you can tell in the smoother strokes that there's no appreciable difference. Comparing these metallics to Army Painter, I found the Lenbicki's just a *tiny bit* less refined, and the coverage not quite as good or consistent, though I'd rate the difference as fairly negligible. There are paint brands I really like that, to be honest, these paints out-performed (Sorry, Reaper...). As you probably know, paints are a combination of pgiment, filler, binder, medium...the ratios can be fiddly, and the pigment is the most expensive part. For metallics, it's the super super microfine glitter that's hardest to get right. I think these are overall very good, if not 100% perfect. I would like to see differentiation in the bottles for metallics v. chromatics. That's one thing a lot of other mini companies get right that I'd like to see this company follow suit on. Two of the colors (Copper skin and Viper Skin) are, while not identical, somewhat puzzlingly similar. it's not that unusual to get similar colors in a kit since there are only so many colors in the rainbow and you're going to get some repeats...but yeesh, of all the colors to duplicate, why these? Two different blues, two different greens, reds, whatever, sure - but why lean on the sort of leather-brown-yellows? I'm sort of waiting on the other shoe to drop as I write this - looking hard for a flaw. I have to concede that a few nit picks about the metallics aside, these are good hobby paints. They're about 20% cheaper than Army Painter, but then again AP has a broader and more diverse range of products and the AP lines are designed to go together via triads & specialty / custom paint sets. I also suspect this is a case of a company taking an existing product and reverse-engineering it to undercut the original manufacturer...but with all that said, the paints apply smooth and cover well with pigment quality and density comperable to a big-name brand. Very hard to say anything much more negative than that.

These paints perform very well, though they are a bit pricey. The pigments are strong, they adhere nicely to plastic minis, and the coverage is excellent. The color selection fits the theme, and I really appreciate that each bottle includes a mixing ball, it makes shaking and mixing the paint much easier. The included brush sheds badly, leaving hairs stuck to your mini, so I’d recommend discarding it or saving it for rough work like applying glue or coats where precision isn’t important. In my photos, I used the white paint from this set as part of the priming process, and also relied on it for the reds, blacks, and silver, everything except the black primer, skin tones and paper.

I’ve been painting minis for a while now, nothing super serious, just for D&D and some Warhammer stuff, and I wanted to try something new without spending a ton. The colors in this set are super vibrant and go on really smooth. They’re thick enough that I can water them down a bit for layering or dry brushing, but not so thick that they’re hard to work with right out of the bottle. The brush that came with it—surprisingly good. I figured it’d be one of those throwaway freebies, but it’s actually held up after a few sessions and still has a nice point. I still use my other brushes for detail work, but it’s nice to have a solid backup that’s not junk. The only small gripe I have is that a couple of the caps were a bit stubborn to open the first time, and I had to use a little more force than I’d like, but nothing spilled or dried out, so no big deal. Also, the labeling is clear, but I wish they had included a small guide or swatch card, just to see how the colors look dry. Overall though, I’m really happy with it. It’s got pretty much all the colors I need for most fantasy minis, and they mix well too. Great set for the price, especially if you’re a casual or even semi-serious painter. Definitely planning to keep this in rotation.

I needed some extra paint for my Railroad and these came across my feed. So, I decided to try them. 1. As far as a price point goes, I have paid much higher for less quality paints, and have paid less for some better, timing is everything, and my normal paint supplier was out of stock on 2 of the colors I needed this had them, so I gave them a try. 2. Used these on molded plastic and on a prefab balsa wood set up, and they took the job nicely, they spread very easily, dried in a respectable amount of time. over a 3 hour period I was able to put on 4 coats of different colors. 3. The Quality of these acrylic paints is not bad compared to the normal paints that I have been getting. 4. The only downside and its not their fault, to a point, is that there were limited to 16 colors, One of the last sets I got from a supplier had 128 colors, but I paid a lot for that set, and this set has a good price point. I will be buying another set as soon as I need it. 5. There is a brush included and its fine touch up brush, all though I do like my set that I have had for 5 yrs now better, I did try it out and it works rather well.

So I picked up yet another miniature paint set as a backup to my main Army Painter stash—something to keep handy without losing sleep (or money) if a bottle tips over or the cat decides it's in her way. For the price, it’s a solid little kit. Sixteen colors, all the basics covered, and in 20ml bottles (third from the right in the photo next to other brands), which is generous considering some companies act like they’re bottling liquid gold. The paints? Not bad. Coverage is decent, consistency is workable, and they thin down fine with a little patience. You're not getting Army, Citadel, or Vallejo levels of refinement here—but you’re also not paying those prices. Perspective helps. The Kolinsky brush was a nice surprise. Holds a good tip, doesn’t shed, and hasn’t turned into a sad little broom after a few washes. With proper care, it might even last more than a month—which, in budget brush years, is basically retirement age. No flashy packaging, no collector’s box. Just paints, a brush, and the unspoken agreement that you will be doing the actual work. Honestly? That suits me just fine. Bottom line: If you're after something affordable, functional, and not trying to impress your local hobby shop clerk, this set will serve you well. Great for a secondary setup or someone starting out. Just don’t expect it to paint your minis for you.
