This is an amazing tool to have on hand if you are hard of sight or working on small detailed projects. I have been creating creatures from clay and painting resin miniatures, which my eyes were not made for. This has helped so much, ensuring I get the details as realistic as possible. One of my miniatures has tiny frogs on it, I swore I had no idea they were there until I started painting. That is how small they are. This magnify glass helped me see their tiny toes and eyes, instead of me just painting them a single color, I was able to add depth. It is my first of these, and I do have trouble getting it in the right position without falling over. I would say for a beginner there is a learning curve, but well worth it. Seeing that I read the reviews before purchasing this item, the first thing I did when I received was to solder the clips to the adjustment rod and ball. And I drilled a small hole in the base and screwed it to my work bench so it will not fall over. I use it for holding HO scale model train parts for soldering and other small things in 1/87th scale so the size is perfect for my needs. ... show more
