    • Hard to adjust the arms. Spend more on something nicer or don't buy anything.
Style: Helping Hand
The best feature of this thing is that it's cheap and it technically does what it's supposed to. That said, for anyone looking at this I would recommend either buying a nicer one or not buying one at all. The problem is that it's so hard to adjust that it's probably not worth it. The joints are locked and unlocked by tightening or loosening wingnuts, which affects two adjacent ball joints at a time. You can't unlock only one ball joint, so you have to correctly adjust both joints simultaneously. On top of that, the wingnuts are cheap, and it's difficult to loosen them to the correct pressure to allow some movement without the joints moving freely and succumbing to gravity. It's not impossible to use, it's just more work to get into place than it's worth. I bought this for one project, and I ended up using other objects to hold the pieces in place rather than fussing with this thing. It would be fine if you only needed the clips in exactly one position, though. Is this worth $9? I guess, but it serves its purpose so poorly that you should spend a little more to get a nicer one, or save your money. ... show more

Does what I need it to do. I wish it came with a desktop clamp or at least a rubber footing, so it didn't slide as much. I've found putting it on a non-slip surface fixed its sliding issue. The arms came un-tightened, which would be good, if it wasn't incredibly hard to tighten with your fingers. It required me to get my needle-nose pliers out to tighten the screws to make sure it didn't fall over when I put a circuit board on it. Otherwise, it holds the board tightly and is pretty protective. Easy to setup as it came pre-assembled, it just required needle-nose pliers to tighten the screw that prevents the control bar from rotating. Overall, not upset with my purchase. High build quality.
