  • Works great
Size: Large
This is my first and only bee suit so I have no prior experience and nothing to compare it with. That being said I really like it. The first time I used it was to install a new hive. The bees arrived two days late (thanks to usps) without food and on a eighty degree day. They were angry and some tried to sting me. The suit did its job flawlessly. It seals nicely so no bees got in and the stingers hardly stuck in the suit. The waist is elastic and velcro and the only place I'm concerned a bee can get in, so I tuck it into my jeans. Overall the suit is comfortable and well made. The fencing style head net is the only thing I'm not sure about yet. It's not bad but cuts down my peripheral vision, and sometimes I have to pull it away from my face since it will tend to squeeze together and start to press on my face which then makes it start rubbing my nose on the screen. I didn't Intend to buy this type of head net but this suit was so inexpensive and highly rated that I couldn't resist, besides who doesn't need to save a few extra bucks for $5 a gallon gas. The suit is great just decide which type of head protection you will find more suitable for your needs. ... show more

  • Great Jacket for people who run hot!
Size: 2XL
This jacket is perfect. It’s a thinner canvas, but I still feel protected. I love that it’s a little thinner, because it gets SO hot here, with my full suit I am just dripping with sweat and this I can actually feel the air flow. The zippers work great and smoothly. There’s a loop at the back that makes it easy to hang up (my other jacket doesn’t have one) and little loops to keep the sleeves down in your gloves. At first the gloves were accidentally left out, but I contacted the company. They responded fast and the gloves were shipped the next day! I will definitely order again! ... show more

  • The Bee's Knees...
Size: 2XL
...and stingers have met their match with this jacket. The last bee suit you'll ever need. Had to weed out all the other selections to find the best. I got lucky and picked this suit. It fits perfect, has plenty of visibility, and is made of quality material. I'm new to beekeeping and I feel perfectly safe and incapsulated in this suit. Quality zippers make it a breeze to get in and out of. Bonus is that it is reasonably breathable and comfortable to wear even in the high humidity area I live in. The size does tend to run small, so order one size up as others have indicated. ... show more

  • Great for the price, and so far I haven't been stung. (fingers crossed)
Size: XL
My old jacket I bought from Dadant finally needed to be replaced as there were several areas where the mesh screen had torn away from the fencing/hood. after duct taping the holes several times, it was getting ridiculous how much tape was on the veil, and they were still getting inside the veil occasionally. Clearly time to replace it. :-) Overall it's a good jacket, and at $50, it's about $100 less than the Dadant jacket. The zippers seem to be slightly lower quality and they don't have the rings on them like the Dadant jacket, which makes it easier to zip/unzip with gloves on, but that's pretty minor when I'm saving $100. So I would recommend this jacket to others. The only thing I can't rate yet, is the long term durability. My last jacket lasted me 12+ years. hopefully I get at least half that out of this new jacket, and if I get 12 again, that will be fantastic. ... show more

  • Above expectations
Size: XL
After looking at various bee jackets, including those 2x cost and reading reviews I ordered this in XL. A friend of mine had 3 hives, and I asked if I could help harvest honey. Being a honey harvest virgin, I had no idea what to get except I wanted to be safe! I am not bee or wasp phobic understanding that you must be calm, even if you get stung but I wished to not be stung if I could avoid it. In any case another friend with 6 yrs bee experience was my guide. We ended up with 3.25 gallons of honey after a VERY long and hot day! This bee jacket kept all bees out! I am 6’1”, 190 lbs and I got an XL. Honestly it came snugly down to below the height of contour of my ass cheeks. There was also extra hood room for me both horizontally and vertically. In fact I had a couple bees caught in the hood fold that occurred because of the extra vertical height the hood kinda blouses up around your neck. Just be aware when removing the bee jacket you might want to have a partner inspect it for proper seal/bees before and after you remove it respectively! I’d say the XL would fit a person up to about 6’2”-3” and maybe 220 lbs. All in all other folks got stung when bees got under their bee helmets with netting, but I pretty much did what I wanted to. I also wore bee gloves, and I found it easier to put the mid bicep length gloves on first and pull the bee jacket on over it. The yyk zippers were plenty durable, but I go easy on stuff, especially things like this that I consider to be life support equipment just like scuba gear, etc. If you’ve never harvested honey before, go for it! It was interesting as hell, and this jacket allows you to be among the “girls” with impunity given a little common sense. I also wore loose khaki cargo pants with long socks that I ticked the ends of the cargo pants into. Given a little TLC I think this jacket will last a few years, I can only see the elastic on the wrist and butt area giving out like the top band of tighty whities but a little tape, belt, or simple sewing could fix that if it happens. Try it you’ll like it! Just have a buddy like scuba etc and check each other out for proper fit/seal before entering the hot zone haha and you’ll be fine. ... show more

  • Nice jacket, with a couple notables...
Size: 2XL
My first jacket, great quality and a great price. Cotton is thick and quickly, but the trade off for being sting proof...it gets pretty hot in there, pretty quick. And it seems my bees can notice once I start sweating in there. Also the fencing veil...there's plenty of room in front, so zero chance of face stings, buuuut, it does tend to rest against the back of my head. Wiish there was a foam bar or something to hold it away. Also, and not uncommon, there's no long bee tool pocket, so am picking that up off the ground all the time. And, had bought a different brand for my wife, and the veil zippers that meet in front actually OVERLAP on that jacket by a couple inches before the velcro pulls over them. Great feature that's made me paranoid about squeezing my front zippers as closed a possible. Wish all jackets had that feature. Fyi, jacket zipper pull is on the right side, like it should be. ... show more

  • Good jacket and EXCELLENT support from FBSupply
Size: 2XL
I live in Florida and it gets hot. This jacket is lighter weight than my current bee suit and allows me to be able to work through a couple hives at a time. I do like this jacket and think it is made really well. Where the zippers meet they form a tight joint and the Velcro flaps do an excellent job on providing additional protection from bees entering the jacket. This jacket is easier to put on and easy to remove. I typically wear an XL shirt and use 2XL jackets to provide extra room between my skin and the bee jacket. This jacket is perfect for me. I received my jacket on Jun 29th and inspected my hive. I had a problem with the left wrist cuff elastic coming detached on the first day and contacted FBSupply the following day through Amazon FBSupply quickly responded to my email that night and within a week I received a replacement jacket. I was and still impressed by their quick response. Thank you FBSupply!!!! ... show more
