Whenever you're looking for dental treats, search for the VOHC seal of approval. This product is approved by the Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC) to remove plaque AND tartar. The VOHC has a webpage listing accepted dental products. I've tried a few dental products over the years, and I can never keep up with them for various reasons. I forget about them because I've put them where they won't be an eyesore, they're expensive (especially with 4 large dogs) and/or I run out too quickly. Hence, before this product I've never been able to give dental treats with any consistency to actually see results. This powder does work. It takes a few weeks to see results, but any tartar on your dog's teeth should start to get softer and looser, to the point where it is easily taken off by a fingernail or during your dog's normal chewing. Thick/heavy tartar should probably be taken care of with a veterinary dental cleaning, for a variety of reasons. Oronasal fistulas, infection, gingival recession, tooth loss (sometimes the only thing holding the tooth in the mouth is calculus buildup), etc. Per "dose", this is one of the most affordable products, especially for large-breed dogs or people with a multiple dogs. Or both. Each scoop is 0.33g, so there should be approximately 545 scoops in the 180g jar. I have 4 large dogs, each getting 2 scoops, and the cost worked out to be about $0.67 per day for about 68 days. It's a small jar that takes up minimal space, so I just leave it out on my feeding station in plain view. This has helped me to consistently give the product each night. For your ease (for 1 dog): <25 lbs: 1/2-1 scoop daily (1,090 - 545 doses) 25-50 lbs: 1-2 scoops daily (545 - 272 doses) >50 lbs: 2-3 scoops daily (272 - 181 doses)

I like that this really reduces the plaque buildup on my dog's teeth. This larger size container is a great buy but the scoop is so buried when you get it that it is hard to find. Then it's just as hard to get back in each time while the container is so full of product that I've ended up breaking it. Thankfully I still had my scoop from my previous purchase - a smaller container.

Like everyone else. I was skeptical this product would work but neither of my dogs will let me brush their teeth, especially my Australian cattle dog. Their breath was getting bad and lots of tarter on their teeth. I did some research before purchasing and the reviews were the best for this product, so I bought it the first of the month. I've been using it for only three weeks and am very happy with the quick results. I noticed the bad breath was gone the first week and their teeth are noticeable cleaner. The taste and smell didn't seem to bother either of them. People may complain about the cost but it much more economical than professional vet cleaning. That was costing me over $200 and I never liked having my dogs put to sleep to clean their teeth. I like this product and will continue to purchase it.

I think the product is very good - it’s easy to just sprinkle it on the dog’s food. My dog is a beagle and will eat anything that does not eat her first, so I am not sure that saying she seems ok with it on her food is probably not saying much. A dog that is “pickier” about his or her food might not like it. I bought this because I have read good reviews about it in other places and because it is VOHC (Veterinary Oral Health Council) approved. It does seem to soften the plaque and if you brush your dog’s teeth, it will be easier to get them clean when you brush them. I gave it 3 stars only because I ordered a 120 gram container but received a 60 gram container instead, which makes this pretty expensive, even though you only use a small amount. I would really like it if I could get the 120 gram container for the price shown.

I don't usually rate products, but my 10 year old dog has had severe dental plaque issues for years, but a deep cleaning regularly costs so much money. This stuff is amazing, i've only used it for 2 weeks and you can visibly start to see the brown disappearing and his breath is SO MUCH Better!!!

My dog is a 12-year-old 20 lb chi-poo with breath from hell. I have tried everything from greenies, every single kind of breath treat daily, water additive, and teeth brushing and nothing works. I read reviews and thought, let's give it a go, because why not I've tried everything else. It took a little over a week to 2 weeks to start noticing because his breath is very resilient. Normally his mouth stench radiates out a few feet and that was the first clue that it was working because that subsided. Is it a 100% cure-all? No, but I will continue to use it because it does work amazingly. He is the pickiest little dog ever and he has no problems with this and doesn't even seem to notice. I had stopped giving it to him for a couple of weeks and the radiating stench came right back. So it is a daily must-have and there will be zero breaks from this magic green powder.
