  • A Very Versatile 3 Quart Pressure Cooker
The Proctor-Silex Simplicity pressure cooker is a very versatile cooker. It is 3 quarts in size which is just right for making smaller portions as opposed to more common larger cookers. Along with pressure cooking, it also has other functions like slow cooking at both low and high temperatures and steaming. There aren't preset settings for certain foods. There also isn't an on/off button. When plugged in the unit turns on. In the middle of cooking, if you wish to stop, there is a cancel button. After selection a function, the unit automatically starts cooking in a few seconds if no other button is pressed. At first I found this a bit too quick to start but after while I like the auto start feature. Here is what I like and dislike about the cooker: Likes: ------ - seems durable and well built - just the right size for 1 person - slow cooker mode with both low and high settings - auto start after cooking mode selected - simple operation without a lot of presets - long warranty Dislikes: --------- - cord not detachable - cord is short - LED is slightly too bright - inner pot is not stainless steel - gasket not easy to remove and replace I give the Proctor-Silex Simplicity 4 stars. ... show more

  • Junk
Sadly, with the first pot the top would not close correctly so I tried again and with the replacement the steam latch did not work. I am out of tries, how safe could this be if the simple mechanics don't work.

  • Simple to use
I normally use a bigger pressure cooker from another brand name, but this Proctor-Silex Simplicity 4-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker, 3 Quart Multi-Function With Slow Cook, Steam, Sauté, Rice, Stainless Steel, it's pretty small and instructions are pretty straightforward. I generally use the pressure cook for corn or meat, and rarely use the slow cook function or steam. I am not used to having just five functions, but I'm getting used to it and actually appreciate it. It is okay at $83, although a little bit expensive compared to my bigger and more functional ones. ... show more
