I wanted a new toaster to match some new pots and pots I got. The color matches my dishes too. Red is my favorite color and looks great in out neutral gray kitchen. This toaster works well for just the two people in our empty nest. We use it for toasting bread and English muffins and it works great. I like the button for shutting off the toaster as our old one you had to fuss with wiggling the handle if you wanted to stop it. The crumb tray doesn't work that well as I still have to wipe up crumbs off the counter. I'm very pleased with the toasting ability. It is supposed to have seven settings for adjusting the shade of the toasting but we have not had to change the setting since we got it. The slot size is plenty big for our use. It is rather cute. Though you have to pay more for the red one. It does work. Though it popped a slice of toast into the sink once when I only had one slice in the toaster. It's also a bit slow. But it's only 700 watts. My previous, now dead, toaster was 950 watts.

I have been using my oven to make toast, and I gotta say having this makes it so much easier in the morning when I am trying to do a billion things. It's a toaster, so I just put the bread in and walk away, verses checking the bread in the oven every 10 seconds to make sure it doesn't burn. Finally a toaster that works! Thank you Proctor Silex! I had a Proctor Silex toaster that stopped working a year ago which I purchased in 1993. Since then, I have bought 3 new toasters, none of which worked right. Two were returned and I have limped along with the third. Finally found this Proctor Silex brand on Amazon (I don't know how I missed it previously) and purchased it. Perfection. The color selector works, the appearance is adorable, it works as it should, the cord is a good length, and it has a removable crumb tray which surprisingly they don't all have. Small, stylish and light weight. Toasts evenly on both sides. Pops up with enough force to put in smaller slices of bread without them getting caught inside. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is overall quality - it's a cheap toaster and likely won't last long.
