  • love the 85cc model
Size: 85cc+3 auger(4"8"12")+2 Ext(24"24")
85cc model is a powerhouse. It was received 3 days after ordering. Box was a bit damaged but all parts had no damage. With a12 in auger it allowed me to get 10 holes 36 in deep in the Arizona desert. Worked great, always re-started on the first or 2nd pull. Only problem is that the unit fell while setting aside to clear some rocks and the ON-OFF switch broke. Since that switch only stops the machine we were able to complete the 10 holes stopping with the choke. Since I was quoted a price of $200/hole I saved quite a bit of money. I will drain the gas and run it dry until I need it again. A GREAT tool addition. The instructions are incorrect about gas to oil ratio and the plastic included container was to difficult to understand. I filled a tank with 1 gallon, added 5 oz of 2 stroke oil. Unit ran with little to no smoke. ... show more

  • Happy so far
Size: 72cc+3 auger(4"8"12")+2 Ext(24"24")
I have owned this digger for about a month now and have used it for 50+ holes so far. The soil where I live is very heavy clay beneath the topsoil, and this auger has been able to handle it without any issues. It is easy to start and has a lot of power. The three auger sizes that were included fit my variety of needs well and seem to be sturdy and solid. Things I've learned so far: Sharpen the tips of the auger bits with a file. If you try to start pushing through any amount of grass or anything besides bare soil, it will collect that debris on the cutting edges and not dig down into the soil. You can stop and clear the edges very quickly, but if you sharpen the edges it will cut straight through. The engine choke is a tab that you pull out and have to manually push back in after it starts. If you forget, it will run but have no power behind it and not dig at all. Clear the bit regularly, especially if the soil is wet. I haven't run with more than 1 extension rod attached, but it worked fine. The bolts that attach the extensions seem a little small to me, but could be easily replaced if sheered off or lost. If you hit a rock or root of any size, it will not go through it. Go slow and let the weight of the machine push itself down. If you're going full throttle it is very easy for it to pull itself out of your grip. Tighten every screw and bolt that you can see and check them regularly as you break it in, one is always coming loose on mine. For the price and performance so far, this is doing everything I hoped it would. ... show more

  • The single hole Clevis pins are weak and break/get stuck must replace.
Size: 72cc+3 auger(4"8"12")+2 Ext(24"24")
Love a good 2 stroke engine. Starts right up in 1 or 2 pulls and runs strong! Lots of power, and lightweight! Ran it by myself even with the 12” auger attached. Be weary of the single hole 1/4” clevis pins as if you hit any hard earth while digging they will bend and strip, I had to cut and hammer one out to change auger bit sizes. Ended up buying some new grade 8 pins instead. Otherwise would have been 5 stars ... show more

  • Works great and very good value for the money.
Size: 72cc+3 auger(4"8"12")+2 Ext(24"24")
So, to be fair, I have only drilled (15) holes at 32" deep. Soil is clay (outside of Memphis); again to be objective, this is the wet time of the year so the clay was not dry (which would be like drilling through cement). The 8" auger worked great, two of us drilled the holes. It would not have been possible to do it myself, because of the clay. The machine started right up and ran like a champ, plenty of power. I will note (like others have mentioned) the throttle is plastic and delicate. I was very careful how I held the unit, making sure not to put stress on the throttle switch. I would recommend. ... show more

  • Beast
Size: 62cc+4 auger(4"6"8"12")+3 Ext(8"12"20")
This is a good auger, I had 8, 12” holes I had to dig to 33” deep. I live in Louisiana with lots of clay and this auger did the job. I would buy it again. I also helped my neighbor with some post holes. It has earned its keep and it starts first pull! Sure beats a shovel and post hole diggers!

  • I really like it but there is a major flaw
Size: 72cc+3 auger(4"8"12")+2 Ext(24"24")
So I got this Auger to assist in digging some large holes for putting up a solar array. I tested the small 4" bit and an extension and all was well...it started easily and dug as expected. The throttle is way too touchy I feel - while you are trying to grip it and then you have to do the lever at the same time if it hits a bump you automatically tighten your grip by reflex which in turn hits the throttle harder and it ends up jerking totally out of your hand. Anyhow, it did this a couple times without incident. When I had an extension on and the 8" bit so I was going pretty deep - it again hit something but this time when it jerked free of my grip (it was a rock or root or something because it did not budge at all) it also caught the wires on my finger I presume - it all happened so fast... But I was leaned over it with the unit approaching ground level and when it ripped free and also ripped the wires out of the on/off switch and throttle it went instantly to full speed and kept going. This resulted in it spinning a few times before I could get out of the way - resulting in a few gashes to me - one in the crook of my thumb and then a couple on my arm. It really should be wired or designed in such a way that if the wires are pulled from the switch it shuts off - instead I had a spinning top stuck in the hole - no way to stop it so I had it let it run out of gas - thankfully I had not put a lot in it as it was just testing the operation of it and the first hole I was going to do out of the bunch. It is light weight, digs well and started right up - but it needs better safety shut-off built in. ... show more

  • Works really great
Size: 85cc+3 auger(4"8"12")+2 Ext(24"24")
Works really well. Be careful on tree roots. You go to hard it grabs. Had plenty of power and I ran it by myself a lot. Starting it theirs lots of compression.
