Description

The Presto® induction compatible pressure canner is the only full-sized consumer pressure canner that works on an induction range. Its extra-large 23-quart size is designed for easy, confident pressure canning—the only method recommended safe by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for canning vegetables, meats, poultry, and seafood. It doubles as a boiling water canner for preserving fruits, jams, jellies, pickles, and salsa in half-pint, pint, and quart jars. Canner is constructed of heavy-gauge aluminum with an induction compatible stainless steel-clad base for fast, even heating. It works on gas, electric, smooth-top, and induction ranges. The deluxe pressure gauge registers precise processing pressures, which are especially important in high altitude areas. The special air vent/cover lock allows pressure to build only when the cover is closed properly and prevents the cover from being opened until pressure is safely reduced. It also gives a visual indication of pressure inside the canner. Canner is versatile too! Use it as a large capacity pressure cooker for preparing meats, poultry, soups, desserts and more. Includes a cooking/canning rack and an 80-page easy-to-follow instruction/recipe book for canning and pressure cooking. Regular Mason Jar Capacity: 7 quarts, 20 pints, or 26 half-pints. Extended 12-year limited warranty. May not work on all portable induction ranges.

  • Well built, safe canner. Happy with the purchase
Quality canner and solidly made. I used this to can ground beef and chicken. Everything worked well and I used the weighted gauge instead of the temperature gauge. Worked as advertised and I was very happy with the purchase. I did buy extra gaskets for down the line. The best part is it is solid but not super heavy like the All American. ... show more

  • Good canner
I have used this canner quite a bit, and It does a good job. It is a little finicky getting the lid seated on, but once you get the hang of it it is not too bad. The only negative I would say is moisture builds up in the pressure dial, and that sometimes makes it harder to read it. Otherwise it works great. ... show more

  • 18 psi for grain spawn
That you put three quarters on top of the jiggle weight to make her purr at 18 psi, make sure your grain spawn is fully cooked aka pasturized. Also make sure to purchase a NuWave II induction cooktop cooker where you can program times for cooking etc it's good to see that out of a lot of things in this world this product has actually increased in value from 123 to now 180 since 2020 100000/10 quality, ease of use, build structure, appearance, noise level, weight, fit, it was a great value of money then and still is now! ... show more

  • Reliable, easy to use and clean, big capacity
I replaced an old pressure cooker. I’m so glad I did! I had no idea how much better this one would be. It’s quite large at about 15in across, in fact you’ll want to make sure you have a kitchen burner large enough to support this thing. The pressure went to 15 psi quite quick on the induction burner I use. Be aware, the product manual specifically states it cannot be used with a propane “ turkey cooker”. It’s easy to clean including the seal. A simple elegant design, no frills but I think it will last me decades. A bit more expensive than I was hoping but after using it I think it’s a good value. ... show more

  • Induction compatible!
After going from an electric to an induction stovetop (LOVE IT), my old canner had to be retired for a canner that was induction compatible. This Presto 23 quart was the only induction compatible canner I could find. It worked perfectly on my stovetop and holds 7 quart sized mason jars. I did purchase two canner plates separately because when I am canning with pints and half-pints, I can stack two levels of jars in the canner, allowing me to preserve up to twenty jars at once. I also like that the canner lid has an arrow that you match up with an arrow on the canner rim and then turn clockwise to a tight seal. My old canner was a pain to get the lid and the bottom on right. The canner comes with a pressure guage and a 15 lb pressure weight that will wobble during the canning process, letting you know that the pressure is building. It also acts as a safety and will pop off to release pressure if the canner exceeds the maximum pressure (and mine never has). With the large capacity, the safety features, the induction capability, and the ease of locking the lid tightly into place, I am really liking this product. ... show more

  • I love my 23-quart induction pressure cooker/canner, with caveats...
I love my 23-quart induction pressure cooker/canner, with caveats... It works great, and after learning to use it, I overcame my fear of pressure cookers because I better understood and trusted the safety features. At first, it would only reach 7 PSI, and reseating the gauge partially corrected the problem. which worked to get it up to 14 PSI. I had to tape a quarter to the top of the weight to reach the recommended 15 PSI and I called Presto customer service to inquire about it. They said anywhere between 14 PSI and 16 PSI was the normal range, and if I suspected my gauge was inaccurate, I would need to send it to the county extension office to have it tested. Some folks in the canning community suggested buying one of the older model three part weights, but they cost $25. I prefer the twenty-five-cent solution. I was debating saving money by purchasing the aluminum Presto pressure cooker. Still, I like the idea of using it on my induction cooktop so I can set a timer and not worry about it. I let my mason jars cool overnight and remove them the following morning. ... show more

  • Quality and sturdy
I am fully satisfied with this purchase. This pressure canner is incredibly robust and performs exactly as it should. The build quality is excellent, feeling sturdy and reliable for long canning sessions. It works perfectly on my induction cooktop, which can be hard to find in larger aluminum models. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, this is a dependable, high-quality tool that gets the job done right. Highly recommended! ... show more
