  • AWESOME!!!
Style: ATOM SQ Pattern Name: Controller
Love this thing! I've had it for a few months now! If I had a complaint, it would just be that it looks like a toy. But I have no complaints! Once you get it plugged in all the colors and lights make sense. This thing does an amazing job at being everything all at once! The pads are stiff and very responsive. The slider is awesome to get a lot of functions from. Great little addon to my Studio One 7 Pro, and my Faderport 8. I rarely even touch my mouse these days since with both the Faderport and the Atom. All my controls I need are built right in to get the workflow going. There is a bit of a learning curve. But if you take the time to learn it. The flow is super increased. ... show more

  • ATOM SQ is a banger with Studio One - Everything I wanted out of a Midi DAW Controller
Style: ATOM SQ Pattern Name: Controller
I wanted to get away from the mouse as much as possible while producing music on my DAW (ableton). I was skeptical this would make any difference with the workflow but this thing delivers! I have already made a song just by messing out trying out the features that it has. It allows me to scan through and load my vsts plugins and control them It allows me to adjust and edit my arranger view which for me is the best part. You can control the screen where you want the loop to start and stop. zoom in and out. nudge this nudge that. control my vsts like a hardware device. Its a pure joy to work with! I did have to learn Studio one but I can't believe what I have been missing. Studio one itself is a beast. Overall Im glad I took a leap into the presonus / Studio one field. I tried all the newest controllers with ableton, the new akai apc64 returned it. I felt the apc64 wasnt neccessary and not functional. But this thing out the box was intuitive and I got perfectly clear right of the bat. Anyways I appreciate products that does what it says and does more! There can be a few things but not a deal breaker. Faders and the ability to scan and scroll and load presets from plugins. But thats being picky. This thing is a beast of a midi controller! ... show more

  • Fantastic device
Style: ATOM SQ Pattern Name: Controller
Absolutely great device. Mandatory for Studio One users but would be a great controller in any DAW. I have two other MIDI keyboards on my desk, and this is the one I use everyday.

  • It does what I need and then some
Style: ATOM SQ Pattern Name: Controller
The pads are responsive, it doesn't drop notes, and it works connected to an iPhone. There's really not much more I could want. It's portable enough to fit in a laptop bag. It can give you so much versatility if you don't think of it as a keyboard, but as a new instrument that can play like a keyboard. ... show more

  • Knobs are useless
Style: ATOM SQ Pattern Name: Controller
I had to return this because it fails on some pretty basic functionality. When working with Studio One, there is no way to adjust the sensitivity or acceleration of the knobs, which makes them essentially useless. The smallest value I was able to increment by was about 0.5 with the tiniest turn of the assigned knob. Holding shift or control did not change to "fine adjustment" as it does with keyboard and mouse (which, by the way, is still way too sensitive in Studio One). After searching through various forum posts, I came to learn that there really is absolutely no way to customize the knob input. Other users wanted to use the knobs for filter sweeping, and for them the acceleration was way too slow, requiring multiple turns of the knob. How to satisfy different users wanting both more and less sensitive? Customization. A simple settings parameter to adjust sensitivity would actually make this useful, but PreSonus honestly seems to struggle with providing options for standard, basic customization that is available on every other major audio software and hardware. The button layout also has some questionable design choices. For example, the shift button is on the opposite side from most of the buttons you would use it with, requiring both hands to use common functions like Undo. The $250 price tag is quite steep for what it is able to do. Sure, it's nice to be able to zoom and and adjust view and scroll through effects, but I could already do that with a keyboard and mouse. Overall not worth the desk space that it takes up. ... show more

  • Worth Every Penny

Love this, working on projects much more efficiently as well. I would do more business with this vendor as well. This comes with Studio One Artist Edition which is nice to start with! I wish I knew before I got the professional edition to upgrade from there. Keep Rocking On!
