The gauge assembly came in nicely packaged in a foam insert. The dials are smaller than I expected but they are still easy to read. There are two positions for the dials, one set separated by 4.5" and the other 2.5". The fit nicely in a cutout without much play and are held in place with a single setscrew. The Allen key was included. The specs say these have 0"-0.25" range. I checked and one had 0.319" and the other had 0.320" range. This is good because typically, you'd set it up with the gauge partially engaged and with an extra 0.070" range, you can set it around 0.02" to 0.05" initially and still have 0.25" usable range. The extra range will also absorb some of the runout on the table. The materials are all top quality and machining is perfect, with all edges nicely finished, not a single sharp or unfinished edge or a burr. I like the color too. A must have tool if you want to make sure your table and spindle are perfectly square to one another.

The free-standing drill press pictured was actually spot on, but a bench-mount drill, that looked okay using a machinist square, was way off. This tramming tool quicky allowed me to adjust things quickly, precisely, and with ease. When a table tilt is needed, this tool will get it back on the level in a jiffy. This is a well-made tool. The cross bar is anodized aluminum with two holes on each side of the spindle to allow for different spacing of the dial indicators. The indicators are fixed in place with a single set screw that should only be snugged up gently! A hex wrench is included and it all fits into a form-fitted foam insert in the plastic case. Recommended for sure.

I never know on a product like this whether to expect instructions or not. This did come with some very nice instructions and I learned some things from them that I wouldn't have known otherwise. This tool is well machined and showed me pretty quickly I need some adjustments along the x axis, while my y axis is OK. It comes in a nice protective storage case suitable for a nice instrument like this. Overall, I'm very happy with this tool. This Tramming System from the AltitudeCraft Store is used to insure that the relationship of your cutting head is square to the table to which your work is attached. This is not my first tool from the AltitudeCraft Store, and I ordered it with the confidence of knowing how much they take pride in their products. Tramming a mill or even a drill press is necessary if you want to do accurate work. It can be done with lesser tools, but this system turns a chore into a joy. The workmanship on the tool is first class. The machining and anodizing are flawless,, which means you can get accurate and repeatable results.
