This is an excellent base and it’s quite rigid. The magnet is strong for its size. The size of the base is the biggest complaint that I remember from other reviewers. Beware that this thing is tiny but that is a plus for me because I have my tiny machines and limited space. I found that it’s very usable and it’s very well built. It has a dovetail right on the end of the mount which is very nice, it makes my test dial seem integrated when mounted on the end. Also, i haven’t tried it yet but it looks like the stem of a dial indicator will fit right in the clamp on this base, well thought out design.

This is the easiest to use, one knob locks all pivot points on the arm! The absolute nicest quality, fantastic to use, magnetic base is solid, one easy to use lever locks it down. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the best! Buy once!

This is for the NF10433. Looks small, it is small but for landing a test indicator where you want it, perfect! Odd setups, regular setups, its small size makes it easy to position. Magnet is good, articulation is butter smooth. That being said magnet is not as strong as the one size up holder but if your not a savage while indicating it works. The indicator stem holder is wonderful and the fine adjust works as expected.

It's a nice unit for some purposes. The weak magnet makes it easy to "break away" as a safety or removal feature but still holds a lightweight instrument firmly enough for measurements. You may want the version with a stronger magnet for some purposes, or even both as they each have a use. I like having the fine adjustment in the base but it means you have to mount the magnet oriented for the adjustment instead of rotating the arm segments with an end type. For maximum range of movement, you may have to rotate the fittings and segments because the ball joints only have one cut out for articulating at 90 degrees.

I’m a cheapskate hobby machinist and put off buying this for years. Man oh man, this thing is both awesome and elegant in design. The magnetic base is really small yet is perfect for fitting into small places. Highly recommended!

This indicator holder is small, yet it has all of the great features of Noga's larger holders, and is of the same excellent quality. My application is to use two of them as a "third hand" for electrical soldering, with two alligator clips installed where the dial indicator would normally go.

A bit on the high price but considering its quality, worth every penny. The main reason I bought it was because of its micro adjustment on the base instead of the head where the dial indicator gets installed. I've use the kind where the micro adjustment is on the head and it's hard to "zero" it out when you are measuring tenths of thousands (.0001"). This little base takes care of that with ease! (There is no vibration by doing micro adjustments using the base knob.)
