Description

The Starrett 196 series universal dial indicator has a 0 to 0.2" measuring range with 0.001" graduations for precise measurement of the rise or drop in a work piece. It has a 0 to 100 counter with one revolution equivalent to 0.1", and the white-face dial has a scratch-resistant crystal face for ease of reading. The plunger on the back comes with 1/2", 5/16", and 1/8" diameter contact points. This kit has a 1/4" diameter stainless-steel shank for mounting. Some dial indicator sets include an adapter, a standard letter of certification, and clamp, tool post holder, snug, and hole attachments. It is suitable for applications such as quality control for machined parts. Dial indicators are also called dial gauges, probes, and electronic indicators.
